    Winter Tires...Model 3 Vancouver Island

I too bought the Tesla rims for my 2018 Model 3 LR. As mentioned, had to call in for the rims. I had Michelin X-Ice on my Bolt. Good snows with a good record on Consumer Reports. I got a deal on Continentals and saved lots. 3 winters and still good. I had the same thing in mind. Put snows on...

Ultimate EV Road Trip - Circumnavigating North America

I have driven coast to coast and down to Florida from Ontario. Moved to BC a year ago, in December. Not the best time to drive through the Rockies. Had two very close calls. Drove through the US, as the Canadian chargers were not up yet. I think they went live about a month after our trip...

    Free Supercharging is currently enabled

Well, my expire date changed. I had 9,000 kms and used much of it crossing the continent in December 2019. Figured I would loose it. Now I have 1036 kms free left and now good to April 24, 2021.

    Battery Breather Valves

Service Bulletin SB-19-16-010 I have this on my service list to be done. I thought it could only be done at the Tesla shop. It has me down to have it done at home. Can this be done at home now? Thnaks.

Tesla to Raise FSD Price by $1,000

I wish all cars had simply emergency auto braking.

Tesla to Raise FSD Price by $1,000

I will keep my 8 grand and drive the car myself. In the future self driving will get to cost less, not more. Look at seat belts and airbags. Air bags cost up to a grand when first out. And that was a grand when it was worth 3 times what it is now. And it was one frontal bag. Seat belts were...

    Coronavirus

I agree with major concerns for our health care workers. I have a friend who is an ER dr., my nice is a Ped Dr. and many nurses in the family. U.S. seems to be way behind in testing. In Canada, we have tested more than the U.S. and we need to do more. Scary what the real numbers are. How...

Got in accident and at-fault insurance company denies claim

I am not buying his story. Get an expert in accident scenes. First off , basic physics discounts his story. If he was first to get hit, much of the energy would be absorbed by his car. Less would be to your car. Therefore, he would have the most damage followed by you. Talk to your...

    Funniest Tesla Question Thread

Joke is, he doesn't know how high the voltage is in those lines. If that was true, an EV owner would be bombarded by a great deal of magnetic energy. Not good. We would need to wear the big insulated gloves the linemen have to drive! Just in case.

    Funniest Tesla Question Thread

I like it when they ask "what if the power goes out. You won't be able to charge." I say, when the power goes out, what are you going to do to get gas when the pumps are electric? Years ago, I got stuck once when a tornado went through the town I was in to get gas. Power was out for hours.

I was going to have it embedded in my head but it will interfere with the one the government put in years ago.

Bollinger Set to Debut Electric Sport Utility Truck This Month

Common in auto talk to say 10" travel. Simply, as stated by others it is vertical travel. As to 4 X 8, usually understood as the comment would be "4 X 8" sheets of plywood or drywall. With trucks, many people would know this is a common question, "would you be able to fit 4 X 8 sheets and...

    Model 3 Supercharging Capable Discussion

After reading many of these posts, let's consider the main issue for Tesla. The cost to install monitoring equipment on all these SC chargers. It would be cheaper to do as some have mentioned and have a flat fee for SC use. If you want it or need it, you pay up front. No need to install new...

Mary Barra, what is going through your mind right now?

Went to Audi this week to check out the A3 E-Tron. As usual for these ICE dealers, when I mentioned the J1772 connector he didn't know what I was talking about. He then admitted, I most likely knew more about the car than he did. Ya think! This one was sold by him and I suspect he knew more...

Mary Barra, what is going through your mind right now?

My issue with GM is the ads for the VOLT. First they show a Leaf across from a Volt. The guy in all their ads says, "range issues", as it is all electric. Not with the Volt. Hey wait, aren't you guys bringing out an all electric car called the BOLT!? Now they show a Prius across from the Volt...
