IIRC, Google even asks developers to have funny side-projects, to work on useless things, to explore whatever ideas they have, to be creative. It allows them to expand their skillset, and sometimes one of those funny-silly-project becomes a real project. Gmail was one of those.

119 inches (3.02m) is HUGE ! It would make a huge radius turn, really not good for some narrow parking lots in EU... My monospace (Peugeot 5008) only has a 107 inches wheelbase.

My budget is up to 300 TSLA shares :D I'll probably want a bigger battery, nice color/seats/interior/rims, and options like autopilot/air suspensions. I expect between $50-60k.

The peugeot 508 sw is a true hatchback, a bit longer than a BMW 3-series (20cm/8inches), and good looking when you see it on the road. Not too much bits and blops everywhere, it's not as pure as a Tesla thought. It probably misses some aggressiveness on the back to fit the Tesla style.

It would mean they would developp 2 interior finish, and maybe 2 "production lines" for the interior. It's not the way they choosed for the supercharger option: it's installed in every 60KwH Model S (and they hope users will opt for it during the life of the car). Having several levels of...

I suspect Model S is that wide because it needs to carry 3 kids of the Musk family, with child seats. Shrinking the Model S (for the width) is not difficult battery wise, it's the the motor+gearbox+PEM that is already a master of compacity. Getting that smaller is probably most difficult than...

But when the supercharger network will be deployed, you will be able to say : If you want to live like a nomad for a year and drive free distance every day - then the Tesla is the only one for you. Pretty cool :smile:

Here in France (cheap electricity), I see many delivery fast-foods (pizza, sushi) going for electric cars (twizy, iMiev).

Indeed the panels each use about half of the screen, but the options popups and panels use almost full of the 17" screen. You still would have to update all of those options panels. So still a good piece of work. Keeping the 17" would be the cheapest options I think : less development, less...

Ride experience, latest technology, expected cost savings and nice look speak to me the most. But I think your list miss an item. It's a good list for any other car. But not a Tesla. It misses the Tesla grin, the wow factor. Because a Tesla cannot stick to 10 items. Remember, it goes to eleven...

I like the phone slot, I wouldn't like to have my phone in the slot under the screen, with a cable going to the usb port.

Another point for the tech package is the resale factor. The tech package seems to me a bundle of specs they could not put in the standard package because of the cost. When considering some of the standart goodies, the Model S feels "unfinished" without the tech package. That could play a lot...

I have a call from Tesla about every 2 months. The sales manager for France/Belgium/Switzerland is very friendly, we talk a lot. Seems like there are very few reservations in France (less than Belgium !), and that with my reservation number (EU P#233) and a 60KWh battery pack, I would get my car...

Cupholders are always included in Europe, but they're tailored for 33cl can :-) (same for japanese cars I think)

According to some blogs, Zoe would consume 15 kwh for 100 km (about 62 miles). Compared to my current car, it's between 4 to 6 times cheaper in France. It would take monthly 1000km (620 miles) to offset the battery leasing cost.

Yes, when I compare it to the kharma (4 seater, range-extended, sporty look), I think it's 2x overpriced. But since exagon builds electric snow racers, performance-wise it can be really good. Time will tell, they intend to sell it starting october :-)
