I think you’re car would have to be registered in the US to ship it with the VPC. Definitely has to be insured. I would call the Baltimore VPC & ask the timeframe for shipping. I had 1/2 my battery after 45 days. You can choose a different VPC and as long as shipping cost is same or less you...

    Mercedes EQ

Not a Tesla, but here’s some pics of the Mercedes EQ concept roadster that’s on display at Incheon (Seoul Korea) airport. It’s pretty cool looking. The part over the front of the driver lifts up for him to get in. Definitely not street friendly with the exposed tires.

It’s crap that companies try to void warranties on service members serving overseas. I had to talk to Tesla in US, customer service & Engineering, local service center wasn’t much help after I left. Then they connected me with Tesla Korea. Tesla Korea needed the OK from Tesla US. I chose to...

    South Korea

Tesla Engineering initially said they could convert my SIM card to a Korean one, but then came back and said it’s not possible because the modem in the 3 isn’t compatible. I know they are able to do it for the S & X. For most civilians, bringing your car out of market will Void your warranty. My...

    South Korea

Yes everywhere I’ve seen has had both, but I haven’t been to too many places that were strictly destination chargers. Usually at the superchargers I’ve been the only one using the US port. But last weekend there were 5 cars using/waiting for the 3 US ports. The 3 EU spots were empty. The tide is...

    South Korea

I have my US spec Model 3 in Korea right now. It works, but not perfectly. Map shows, but no navigation. I haven’t been getting updates. No LTE connection because of SIM card & modem. I can supercharge, trickle charge off of 110 outlet, & charge w/ J1772. ChaDeMo & CCS1 chargers are common but...

My folding electric bike fits in the trunk with a cart load of groceries and room to spare

    Texas Hold Up!

4/21/18 I drove through the proposed supercharger location in San Antonio (by Best Buy by the airport) and still nothing is happening. This has been dragging on a long time. Hope they get moving on this.

    New Supercharger Fair Use Policy

I think this is vague and bad optics for Tesla. Better to charge for supercharging if car is registered to a company. Then work with high use fleets like taxis to have private Supercharger on their premises that they pay for the power. Call it Comcharger or something else and don’t put it on the...

    Is it ugly? (Poll)

I like the V line & placement of the T badge on the X. The 3 front is a bit odd proportionally. I do wish it had a lift back because they are so versatile, but I suspect the trunk will differentiate it from the CUV Model Y that will probably have the lift back. I love the look of the glass...

    What wasn't said.

Some of the superchargers are already located in city parking garages & Tesla's have to pay per hour to park at the supercharger, or are charged after the first 30-60 minutes. Now the $$ is probably going to the garage/city not Tesla, and is paid when you leave like any garage.

Your Ideal Model 3 Color Configuration

For interiors, I like leather in tan, grey, or brown. No black or white (for me) because it either shows dirt or dust too badly, or is too hot in warm climates. I like the wood trims, but that might not be an option for the 3. Exterior colors - lets get a bit more fun! Add to the existing...

Elon tweets - count @ 198k & rethinking prod - east coast doomed?

No because the US tax credit only applies to the first 200,000 cars they sold in the US. They have sold plenty overseas and will continue to without any affect to the US tax credit.

Elon tweets - count @ 198k & rethinking prod - east coast doomed?

I agree - I think they will roll it out in batches. Maybe even in batches of 5,000 highly optioned each region, then move back to the first region and repeat until they work their way down the options & orders. I would imagine if an employee wanted priority they would have already had to place...

    What wasn't said.

Hmmm, brings up something to ponder. Most of the taxes on gas go to pay for road construction & maintenance. Electric cars don't pay that tax. At some point in the future the quantity of electric cars on the road will grow and the tax revenue from gas sales will decrease, yet roads still need...

No dash screen -- only 15" touchscreen?

I've already voiced my concerns about not having speed/battery info in front of the driver. I love the big center display.....but will it get glare in bright sun? Will I be able to read it with my polarized sunglasses on (can't do it with iPhone)? I'm short and the speed on the top left of the...

No dash screen -- only 15" touchscreen?

Another thought on it only being a prototype - where are the air vents for the AC?
  21. Tina C

No dash screen -- only 15" touchscreen?

I would feel safer with a secondary display in front of the driver for the essentials like speed & battery. They get lost in big screen. What if the big screen froze up? Plus at night I would want to seriously dim or turn off the big screen. Plus there is the emptiness of the dashboard. I would...

I like it! I think the dash is still a mock-up and still being worked on. I hope the sunroof can open!!!! I think it's a good idea to get rid of the fake unneeded grill.

Guesses on "token of appreciation" for line waiters tweeted by Elon Musk

They said it would be something mailed to me. I think something small like a key fob holder or coupon for a free t-shirt.

Mary Barra, what is going through your mind right now?

Past GM cars I've owned were crap. Fit & finish problems on the interior, uncomfortable, & major mechanical repairs. Unimpressed with any that were rental cars too. EV or not I wouldn't ever buy another GM car. Their dirty pool with trying to block Tesla just adds to it. I do honestly hope...

People line up at Park Meadows for new Tesla Denver news. We lined up outside & it was snowing. Estimates between 800-1000 just for that store.

Good Range Autopilot Supercharger access Giant sunroof that opens (giving up a convertible) Leather power heated seats with memory settings (I'm over having to reset my seat all the time) Cupholders (Yes the little things really matter when you don't want spilled drinks) I have faith that it...

Wowza the Canadians are really dedicated to camp out 2 nights in subzero weather. I've become completely Tesla obsessed in my excitement about the reveal. I've never camped out for purchasing anything, heck I don't even go shopping on Black Friday. I'll be at the store in Denver early on...

    Superchargers for Model 3

Probably could, although Korea has an 100% import tax on foreign cars, so most of the non-Korean cars on the road are luxury status cars. We lived there for 2 yrs and the military shipped one of our cars to & from. We didn't have to pay import tax, since it technically wasn't imported and it...

    Superchargers for Model 3

Bite your tongue about N Dakota - I hate cold weather! I already know I am moving to a supercharger wasteland this summer - San Antonio TX. I have family that lives near S. Padre Island/Mexico Border and no superchargers anywhere nearby, and over range if the M3 only gets 200 miles. I'm...

    Superchargers for Model 3

Supercharger network is the main reason why an EV is even feasible for me. It is the MAJOR advantage that Tesla has over all the other EV cars. None of them are invested in a charging network or consider their cars to be anything other than a commuter car for local area. I can't even consider...

Petition to remove the 200,000 US sales cap for the $7,500 EV Tax Credit

Yes a tax credit reduces your tax burden, but in your example, the $10,000 is what you owe the gov for your share of taxes. If they give you back $7500 to reward you for buying an electric car, then that is the gov's money that they are giving you, or lost income to them. I think we are saying...

Petition to remove the 200,000 US sales cap for the $7,500 EV Tax Credit

Federal Income Tax Credits (the $7500) and State Sales Tax are completely different pots of money paying for completely different things. Federal money funds the Federal Gov & all it's programs. State sales tax revenue stays in the State and pays for state stuff only.

Petition to remove the 200,000 US sales cap for the $7,500 EV Tax Credit

My understanding is that it is an unfunded tax reduction, so no other taxes were increased to pay for it. Unfunded it either contributes directly to the deficit/debt or it is made up by cutting funding to other programs. I would love to see it extended if it was funded by eliminating/reducing...

Model S/X Owners Have Priority Model 3 Orders Over Non-Owners

I think the public optics are bad for Tesla if they stack the deck so that the available tax credit will run out while fulfilling orders of existing customers who have already received the tax credit. Keep in mind the the existing customer base are people who could afford an expensive luxury...

Model S/X Owners Have Priority Model 3 Orders Over Non-Owners

It's not a fairness issue. As do many companies, Tesla rewards its loyal customers. Like customers who deposited $5k for a Model X reservation and hung in through three years of delays. Customers who are willing to pay four times the cost of a Model 3 for an EV car. If the Tax Rebate is that...

If You're Reserving -what car are you coming from?

Exactly! And so many of the electric cars are just tiny. Not big enough for a cart load of groceries, luggage, families, etc. Plus I buy a new car & drive it for a really long time before I get another new one. Longevity of a car has a big environmental impact as well. Excited that Tesla's...

Model S/X Owners Have Priority Model 3 Orders Over Non-Owners

Would be more fair if the fed tax credit could only be taken once, then it wouldn't be just the first 200,000 cars, but the first 200,000 first time EV buyers. Of course this is more of a problem with the way the Fed Tax Credits were set up, than with Tesla in particular.
  44. Tina C

Model S/X Owners Have Priority Model 3 Orders Over Non-Owners

I can see rewarding early adopters with getting an order faster, but I have a problem with the tax credit. All the current owners, if they bought new, already got the fed tax credit. To let them jump the line to get another tax credit over people who are buying their first EV seems unfair...

Current non-Tesla owners who plan to buy a Model ≡ ; Have you test driven a Model S?

Hubby & I test drove an S. Loved it, so much fun to drive, autopilot is awesome, but I haven't been able to justify a car that costs so much, but I've been trying. Besides I prefer a more mid-size car. So many of the other EV's are too small. I hope the 3 isn't too bare basics in it's...

If You're Reserving -what car are you coming from?

2005 PT Cruiser Convertible. Really hard for me to give up a convertible & stick shift, but I think I will love the Tesla 3 with a nice big sunroof. I want a fun electric car with enough range to make cross country drives. Now only if the Tesla 3 had a convertible option.....
