    A/C Reduced Error

I have a 2019 Standard Range MS and when I was driving home the other day, my air vent fans were making a loud noise and then eventually, my A/C stopped working and I have an error on the screen “AC has been reduced. DC Fast Charging/SuperCharging may be reduced”. I did the soft reset, hard...

    Commuting in South Florida

I recall that from my visits as well. People FLY on the parkways and weave in and out. As a NY'er, It took me by surprise.

    Commuting in South Florida

Commack to Midtown between LIRR and E Train is 2 hours door to door. Driving I am not sure of as I havent tried it during rush hour.

Yes, I was down in Boca in Jan 2020 and traffic was terrible locally.

    Commuting in South Florida

Thanks. My commute from Long Island to NYC was 2 hours door to door, so I am very much looking at this as a wash. Having FSD will be a godsend for this commute it seems. I don't need more than 1 SC, but nice to know options.

    Commuting in South Florida

I am seeing a lot of conflicting information, so I figured to get some feedback here. We are relocating from Long Island, NY to Boca Raton, FL this summer/fall as my company is paying for us to move down there. We aren't sure if we will find a place to buy given the bonkers real estate market...

MagSafe Retrofit using Tesla’s Wireless Charger

Yes. Obviously I didn’t test that before I began these tests but the fact wired lightning tested at 3.43 shows how much these results can vary.

MagSafe Retrofit using Tesla’s Wireless Charger

I wanted to share these results using the Amperes iOS app. You can see regardless of USB-C, Magsafe or Lightning wired or Tesla modified Magsafe, speeds aren’t great when using either the Tesla USB-A ports or the Auxkey USB-C charger. I question whether doing this Magsafe upgrade over leaving...

MagSafe Retrofit using Tesla’s Wireless Charger

Great write up. I just did this project today and a couple of observations: Works without a case or Apple's Silicone case (Haven't tried Apple Leather case yet) Does not work with the Nomad Magsafe Rugged Case. I would imagine, it's just too thick. I ran a charge test and I was getting...

    Black Screen of Death?

I had an appointment today at the SC but they messaged me through the app asking for dates and times these happened so I cancelled for now since it will most likely be a wasted trip. I never documented it so I’ll start to do that and go from there. Perhaps I can call tech support and they can...

    Black Screen of Death?

My car is MCU2, AP2.5. Based on the comments above, I scheduled a service center visit. Sounds like I might need a new MCU already? With 6k miles on a 2019 model? Yikes. Was shocked I was able to get one for this Sunday. They just opened a new SC by me in Lake Grove, NY.

    Black Screen of Death?

Over the past 2 updates, I noticed my MCU will go completely black and take awhile to reboot (5-10 minutes). It's quite dangerous when driving because I have no idea what gear I am in, my turn signals don't work, etc. I have a 2019 Model S Standard Range and am running on 2020.48.35.5...

    Blind Spot Indicator

Agreed, and the capabilities are there, Tesla is just choosing to ignore it.
  20. mbhforum

    Blind Spot Indicator

While I agree, better blind spot detection is needed, I believe Tesla has de-prioritized this just like they do with HUD. Their vision is to get to full level 5 autonomy where the car will drive itself and humans won’t need to worry about blinds spots. We of course know this is at least 5...

iPhone maintains connectivity but keeps losing text message synch

I have this issue with my 2019 MCU 2. I noticed it happens after my wife drives it and her phone connects via Bluetooth and the very next time I go to drive, I have to re-enable the sync. We both have iPhones.

    If you had a do-over...

There is no question about it, Service is Tesla's achilles heel. I have mixed experiences with Syosset where things have taken too long to fix and they also damaged my past car by scratching it (they made up for it by reimbursing me). They have also been great once giving me a free center...

    If you had a do-over...

I am on my second MS and everytime I stare at it, I say to myself “what a gorgeous car”. It is by far their best looking vehicle (not counting the upcoming Roadster). I also prefer the interior compared to the M3/Y. I test drove the MX and both my wife and I hated it. Didn’t feel as sporty...

So Tesla sold me a New Inventory car but didn't disclose that it had had a prior accident

I bought an inventory 2019 that was used as a demo as well and when I took delivery I noticed it had damage to the tire and rim. I made them swap it out. It had like 1,000 miles on it, so I knew it was driven somewhat. Ironically, I did run a carfax report before delivery and Carfax told me...

Carbon fiber vinyl wrap Tesla Model S 2015 interior experience?

CF is a much needed improvement. Looks great. The part numbers for the trims haven’t changed for the Model S’s lifespan with the exception of the colors (graphite, silver) and patterns. I don’t think it’s the trim because if you notice on the top right of the MCU, you have a gap as well. My...

I paid $900 in NY which is reasonable for such an expensive state :) Satin black as others have mentioned is what I went with.

Driver side interior door handle trim scratches

Yes, it's 3M tape with what is claimed to be real CF on a veneer. I am not sure how you can determine if the CF is "real". It seems good quality and similar to my real CF trim on my dashboard.

Driver side interior door handle trim scratches

Definitely don't spend $500. I got them for half that with my link above. It looks like it's all the same from Hong Kong FWIW.

Driver side interior door handle trim scratches

The problem is, it easily scratches and will just get dinged up again.

Driver side interior door handle trim scratches

Looks like the one on Amazon is imitation CF, where as the one I have is real (although I am no expert). Also, I wanted matte not glossy. I do have CF trim in my interior and while the direction of this trim is different, I don’t think it’s noticeable bc they aren’t next to each other. I’m...

    Carbon Fiber wheel from RPMTesla

Anyone know where I find these carbon fiber trim pieces for the steering wheel? I saw a pic of this on Amazon review for the pedals. Of the carbon fiber cutouts I saw replace go on top of the silver trim, but I like this look better.

    Carbon Fiber wheel from RPMTesla

I would be ordering the same except with Black Nappa Leather. it's very pricey, so I am thinking about it long and hard. I am a little nervous with the install too. The installation video makes it look pretty easy.

Carbon fiber vinyl wrap Tesla Model S 2015 interior experience?

Taking your trim pieces off is a good 1.5 hour job, intermediate complexity. I am not particualry handy and figured out how to do it by watching you tube videos and searching this forum.

Carbon fiber vinyl wrap Tesla Model S 2015 interior experience?

I got quoted $600 for a local installer to wrap in 3M vinyl. Unfortunately because my wood trim had grains in it, it wouldn’t stick. You won’t have that issues since you have glossy obeche wood. I ended up buying OEM carbon fiber parts on eBay and spent around $1,300 and swapped it out myself...

Wireless Phone Charger for Tesla Model S

I got my wireless charger, and yes the packaging is very impressive, Apple like. One negative is, I cannot close the lid anymore because the top of the wireless charger hits my USB Drive/SD Card for the TeslaCam, as well as my other USB cable. I will need to get some dongle extensions so these...

Norm's Model S/X Cubby Drawer For Sale

Hi - Decided to buy the EVamped' Carbon Fiber one to match my interior. The fit is good, it does have that gap on the left (you can see in the picture), but the tray doesn't slide out and stays put. It's well made and I haven't had any issues with it.

Norm's Model S/X Cubby Drawer For Sale

Hi, I am selling a gently used Model S/X Cubby Drawer made by the one and only Norm. Outside is made of Black leather and inside is lined with grey felt (I think velvet?). I believe he is selling these for $85 brand new. I am willing to sell for $60 USD including shipping to US only.
