    I bought a 6 digit car...not a video game.

It seems that every other recent update has to do with some enhancement to games or other entertainment distractions. I'd really like Tesla to prioritize updates to vehicle operability...better navigation, autopilot, internet browser, or user interface (how about a trunk release button on the...

After 4 months, all I get is Fire and Farts

I've been anticipating an update from 2018.42.2 since last October. Today I got one: 2018.50.6. Now I can see fire on the screen and play fart noises. Is this a luxury car or a dorm room?

My CA DMV registration fee jumped from $80 to $258!!

I just received my renewal notice from the DMV for my 2016 Model S that I bought from Tesla at the end of 2016. The "registration fee" portion of the bill went from $80 to $258! I knew it would be increasing, but, from the latest DMV info on their site, the maximum for a vehicle worth over $60K...

    Cars keep crashing into me...

Or at least that's what V9 shows when I'm stopped in a center lane at a red light. Rather annoying to see images of vehicles, well within their lanes, sliding sideways into mine. Perhaps Tesla should add some metal crunching sounds to enhance the effect...or not.

    The Solar Semi Range Extender

While putting solar cells on passenger EVs doesn't make a whole lot of sense, it may be more practical to put them (and maybe some storage) on the trailers that electric Semis pull. Think about it: Lots of flat surface area Typically in the sun a lot Appearance is not an issue Even when not...

How to justify buying the new Roadster

$200K+ for a sports car is hard to justify based on any practical merits. But, here's a shot at it: Just look at how much you can save on fuel costs using the electric Roadster as your daily driver and road trip vehicle versus your gas guzzling Bugatti. The savings could actually amortize the...

if Tesla would let you customize the "Home Screen" a little. For example, I'd like to put garage door and rear trunk buttons there... and get rid of buttons that I never use. Anyone else, who's used a smart phone within the last 10 years, feel the same way?

    Model S Trunk Lighting II

    Flaky Auto Lane Change

I just drove from Silicon Valley to Santa Barbara and back on 101 in my 17.17.4 AP2 MS. About 700 miles I used autopilot most of the way and it worked very well. Auto lane change was another matter. About 20% of the time, the car wouldn't change lanes. Speed, lane markings, straightness, and...

    Superchargers, a future profit machine?

PUP is kind of a rip-off now

Without adding the automatic rear liftgate, it's price is STILL $3,500! I ordered it on my 90D mainly for the liftgate. For me, the other features were mostly useless or of little value: Bioweapon filter: I may use this noisy air blaster every year or so when I drive thru the stockyards on...

    90D Drops $2K

Besides throwing-in the automatic rear lift gate, it looks like the (near-end-of-life) 90D has dropped $2K. Of course, as a consolation to most previous buyers, unlimited supercharging is gone on the new ones.(But $2K buys a LOT of $0.20 per KWH Supercharger electrons...at least 25K miles!).

Why can't smartphones communicate directly with your Tesla?

Phones have WiFi and Bluetooth. Teslas have WiFi and Bluetooth. Why should smartphones need to go thru the internet (which isn't always available) just to allow keyless entry and driving? Wouldn't it be convenient if your phone or watch virtually replaced the key fob? One less thing to carry.
