    75D battery degradation

75 - Oct 2016 build. I'm getting 201/225 for over 18 months now. At 225, we are talking over 10 percent degradation. Should I take it in for service?

    Version 9 on AP1

I'm not liking this new update. You cannot keep the camera on at all times. I have always used the wide angle view as my rear view mirror. Looks like they are trying to promote the maps hard. Why would you need maps ON at all times?

Newbie question - Is this a good configuration for my current needs?

You could sell anytime if you were to finance. It's your car!

Newbie question - Is this a good configuration for my current needs?

If I were you, with your needs, following would be my config - 60 RWD - Metallic Paint - Pano Roof - Next Gen Seats - Premium - Enhanced AP For a 50 mile commute, a 60 is plenty for a round-trip. You would still be left with about 90 miles. I would wait on Self-driving until it matured and...

Wow - this is what it feels like to own a Tesla Model S

Congratulations. I got delivery of my car about 6 weeks ago. No regrets. This is how it will always feel with Tesla no matter when you pull the trigger. I'm glad that I still have an M3 reservation though :)

Anyone bothered by this statement on AP2.0 implementation?

It's not that those features do not exist or cannot be enabled on the new hardware. Just that the car will now need to learn these and update the neural network as it gathers more data.

Why wait for model S. Selling my pre-delivered model S 60D

My MS was delivered in 39 days from Order placement (not confirmation) to delivery.

    Will this 14-50 work?

You're overthinking this. All you need is a simple 14-50, made by a decent brand (check Amazon). It can charge at anywhere between 20-28 mph, which is plenty for daily needs. HPWC charges at a little higher rate but the primary use case is for overnight charging. So it doesn't really matter...

Poke a hole in my strategy... POLL

Elon himself has said they are investing in a software solution rather than additional hardware. The split with MobilEye might actually have prompted him to say that, which means hardware option is not coming anytime soon.

    How important is pano roof?

Mine has it and we love it. Gives a really nice view especially for the kids seated in the rear seats. Looks especially great with lighter body colors (white, silver)

Will the Model S fit in my garage?

Summon won't work on that driveway. I have a driveway with almost a 30 degree incline and I won't even try using Summon. Homelink was interesting too. The garage door didn't open and I was already half way up on the driveway :p

    How to use referral credit?

I wish they had kept the $1000 credit for both buyer and owner.

    How to use referral credit?

So if I give Tesla business for about $300k, I get a jacket? What a great deal!

    How to use referral credit?

Probably a dumb question but before I go on to refer friends and family, I'd like to know how the referral credit could be used. Is there a fine print? Can it be used towards buying extended warranty, service plans or accessories? Thank you

    Model S - Auto Insurance

I looked at Elephant as well but some of their marketing practices made me question their business. I made the mistake of providing my phone number on a quote and I was flooded with calls for a few weeks. Literally, 3-4 calls every day and no voice message. Made me wary about how their claim...

Refreshed 60D with 21" - what kind of range are you getting?

You're right. I misread your original reply. This is a very interesting way to look at tire upgrade, I must say and worth a thought.

Alliant Credit Union as a Financing Option

Might want to check the fine-print on insurance coverage. Usually, it is the first year or there is a mileage limit (15k). Alliant's coverage will pay $500 towards deductible, 2 times a year, per car, for 3 years. The GAP coverage on the Tesla is for the life of the car.
  39. Austin Powers

    Model S - Auto Insurance

I switched to Liberty Mutual as well from Geico. Geico, AllState and Farmers have very high premiums for the Tesla and they don't know the difference between the 60 from the P90D. Also, went with the GAP coverage from Alliant which reimburses you $500 in deductible in case of a claim (2x a year...
  40. Austin Powers

Alliant Credit Union as a Financing Option

Delivery date of the vehicle has nothing to do with loan closing. Two things Alliant needs to close the loan: 1. MVPA 2. Insurance within 2 weeks of closing. Your loan is in effect as soon as you close and the car is technically yours even though you don't have possession of it yet :) To get...

Refreshed 60D with 21" - what kind of range are you getting?

    The difference between a 60D and a 90D is about $18500. Aftermarket 21 inch wheels cost about $2k :)
  42. Austin Powers

Refreshed 60D with 21" - what kind of range are you getting?

The 21" are definitely sweet looking and the range loss is minimal. However, I have heard they eat tires for breakfast, lunch and dinner :D Also, the road noise on those seems to be an issue as well. I would use that cash towards other options (if you were on the fence on something else).

Alliant Credit Union 1.49% for 72 months

You're right. I have mixed feedback about Alliant since depending on which loan officer I spoke to, I received different answers. As easy as the loan process was, they could do better in the customer service department.

Hello Everyone! I'm new here! Ordering a 60d Model S and I have some ?'s

All manufacturing issues are covered by the warranty. In fact, most people I have spoken to get their annual maintenance service done every other year. I would just save up to buy an extended warranty closer to the end of year 4. Adds 4 years for $4k

Isn't the dual charger option a $1900 upgrade?
  46. Austin Powers

Would you buy MX instead for $5,000 more?

Model y will be coming out sometime next year as well, so X won't be protected either, by the same analogy. S and X are luxury whereas the 3 and Y will be tier 2. A BMW 7 series still has great value even when they have 5 and 3 available. Different segments, different demographics.
