21” black turbines for trade (looking for any 19” wheels, preferably with tires)

Ideally a set of 19” wheels with tires on them. Failing that, $2,000 CAD. Would prefer local, but could ship (at buyer’s expense) beyond eastern Ontario.

21” black turbines for trade (looking for any 19” wheels, preferably with tires)

Hello, I have a set of 4 21” black turbine Tesla wheels. All season tires on them, but the tires are at the end of their life. Rims are in good shape with a bit of rash on the two right ones. They were originally silver and professionally powder coated to match Tesla carbon. I am looking...

Yellow lines now painted. Interesting how the spots don’t line up on the spots behind the stalls (will only matter if the main spots are iced or if someone was trying to charge without in hitching their trailer). I noticed that 4 of the spots are ‘15 minute general parking’ and 4 are ‘charging...

    2020.20.1 Media player issues

Huh, didn’t know about the press and hold for big report. Thanks! By the way my favourites came back after another reset. I didn’t have much in there anyway. I scheduled a service appointment, But got a quote for a half hour of labour to address it. I called customer service (probably...

    2020.20.1 Media player issues

Thanks for that list. Sorry to hear you’re in the same boat. I think I may put in a service request from the app as I can’t do a ‘bug report’ without the voice prompts working.

    2020.20.1 Media player issues

Okay, I had a chance to try it. I was able to log in to the account I created on my PC, but it operated the same as when it was not signed in (i.e. I could navigate to podcasts, but none of them would play). Side benefit here that I can now more easily control my favourites (it deleted my old...

    2020.20.1 Media player issues

Interesting, I hadn’t thought of it as a connectivity issue. I can still connect to the car when it is on wifi and LTE. I just discovered that the voice commands won’t work. I press the voice command button and there is no reaction at all. The button itself must work as I was able to do the IC...

Hi all, Is anyone else having issues with the media player after installing 2020.20.1? I have searched around and haven’t found anything yet. My symptoms: Radio works Bluetooth audio works ‘Streaming’, Spotify and TuneIn don’t work Spotify doesn’t seem to connect to the Spotify server at...

Does anyone else have trouble buckling in Child Seats?

My 7 year old gets in and out by slithering under the belts keeping them buckled. About once per month the belts get a bit too far and they lock, but it isn’t a big deal to unbuckle, retract and re-buckle. Keep in mind that the buckle extenders aren’t crash tested unlike the rest of the set-up.

Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

I thought I would share my story here in case it helps others. Four months ago, I bought a used 2014 S60 (pre-autopilot). Over the moon that our family was finally able to go electric! I have followed Tesla for many years so had vaguely heard of the eMMC issue, but learned a lot more about it...

    Possible location - Renfrew, ON

I wonder with the new Canadian Tire involvement if that will push this one along. We would use this location a lot if it were implemented (most of our travel plans almost always go through Renfrew for some reason). Should the dot on supercharge.info be moved to the Canadian Tire parking lot...

    Supercharger - Bancroft, ON

Yahoo! Bancroft would be game-changing for our usual travel plans. I wonder if Canadian Tire’s involvement in this will push Tesla to prioritize this one for 2020 (rather than be on the ‘planned’ list for a few years first).

    Likely MCU Failure (MCU1 eMMC)

I was able to drive it just fine tonight. I dressed warm so I could keep the windows open so I didn’t fog up at -10 C. Worked fine, but I don’t think I’ll be doing any road trips with the whole family in there until we get some heat. One curiosity is that the speedometer was reading about 40%...

    Likely MCU Failure (MCU1 eMMC)

Uh-oh, I may be the next victim of this (2014 pre-AP S60 ~146,000 km). I started following Tesla in 2015 and thought I had covered all of the bases. I didn't appreciate the gravity of this issue until I saw Rich Rebuild's video about it shortly after getting my car 4 months ago (I watched most...

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Bancroft! The combo of this and Renfrew are huge game changers. It makes a huge, beautiful patch of the province accessible where it was not before. Not even any CHAdeMO in that area. Keeping my fingers crossed that these will actually be built in 2020...or 2017 in Renfrew’s case.

Tesla removing transferable supercharging from existing owners?

I have been struggling through this. I bought a 2014 S60 privately from the original owner. He had paid to enable supercharging in early 2015. I bought the car in mid-September, Tesla finally changed the ownership over early October and it was put to pay-per-use supercharging. I have spoken with...

Thinking about a used Model S

Battery gate aside, consider that everyone’s needs and requirements are different. Our family wanted to go electric and needed 7 seats. A 2014 S60 is perfect. While we would prefer more range and faster charging, it works for us and was by far the cheapest electric 7-seat option! If one used to...

Thinking about a used Model S

Just adding my props for the RFS. We have three kids (7,4,1) and they come in very handy. We generally have all three in the 2nd row (had a seat tech verify that the three across install was compatible), but as others have said, we can put our older two in the third row and get two adults in the...

    Cold Weather Pre-conditioning not working?

Scratch that. It is about -20 C outside right now. The car was at an internal temperature of -3 C and is plugged in to 110V. I turned on the preheat and the battery heater came on for a minute or two. Got a bit of regen once I put it in drive which was better than the zero regen I was getting.

    Cold Weather Pre-conditioning not working?

A few observations I have had on my 2014 S60 (2019.40.2.1) below. My notes are observational and by looking at the battery heater icon on the app so take with a grain of salt. Level 1 charging at -10 deg C: the battery heater would come on for a few minutes leaving little power for actual...

Third party DC fast charger switch?

I tend to agree with you. Max charge 93%?

Thanks for your input all. I happen to bump into a Tesla technician and got some interesting tidbits: Yes, it is a balance thing Yes, it can be addressed by discharging below 20% (10% if I'm feeling sassy) The key that I missed is that after discharging, it is best to charge it to 100% *using...

    Max charge 93%?

Yes, agreed. I was trying to get to 100% because a) road trip and b) my understanding is that if the battery stays in the ideal range (40-60%) for a long period of time, the system that estimates battery capacity starts to lose a bit of accuracy. Considering that the 'new' EPA rated range of...

    Max charge 93%?

...oh, and I noticed that when I left the supercharger at 85% SOC, there was a dotted line limiting regen which I thought was weird. It cleared within a minute or two of driving so I didn't think much of it at the time, but was that the battery capacity limiting the regen (couldn't have been...

Tesla Vehicles now importable to Canada!!

My understanding from the Transport Canada documentation is that the ‘electronic immobilization system’ needs to be installed. Not sure what that even means for an EV. Is there any hardware that needs to be installed/updated for a Model S to meet this requirement?

Amazing! Any experts on private import fees/duty/etc. for passenger vehicles?
