I'm very excited to see this! We normally stay at the Disney Resort and are able to use the Destination Charger over there, but this will be much more convenient. Also, Holy Tequila is an AMAZING restaurant. It actually just showed up in my FB memories a few days ago from a trip we took in 2018.

It's a little over a mile walking distance to the mall (St. Charles Towne Center). I used to work there a lifetime ago. There is a smaller shopping center across the street, but I agree that it doesn't look like there's a good crosswalk, though that doesn't generally stop people in the area.

I find the signs on the HOV lanes to be misleading to those who haven't dug into it like local owners. The signs just say "AFV allowed" and reference the statutory code. If a non-local were coming through town, I highly doubt they would realize that the code requires a special tag, but would...

We drove by last night around 8pm on the way home from my in law's house and there were no changes -- the meter face wasn't installed, and the pedestals were still coned/taped off.

Question without asking you to give too much away (I hope) on this one. Do they still need suggestions of locations, or is the location chosen and it's just working through the process? Because there's a QT just off the Fairburn exit on I85 that has a Cracker Barrel next door, and a Starbucks...

Looks like there was some permit movement and payment of fees that happened on 5/13 according to the link above. I'm not positive I read it correctly, but it does look like it's been approved for a next step.

Any updates on this one, Chris? Or do you know if there are any City Council issues that some owners might be able to assist with (letters/calls saying we want this)?

The Myrtle Beach supercharger is only about 20 miles from Calabash -- not a hard top off when we go visit family there. There's also Smithfield's BBQ in Shallotte, who has a destination charger set up (plugshare: PlugShare - Find Electric Vehicle Charging Locations Near You).

I think I tried registering shortly after you did this (less than an hour, more than 30 minutes), so I appear to be in limbo at the moment. :)
