this was actually not in a tesla, but i was just trying to find an example of 60+ minutes of sustained high speed in the uk. these were evening runs so traffic was lighter.

That's the difference then...we go for 100 miles or more with the occasional left lane hog (right lane for you :) ) which may slow me down 10 MPH, but relatively event free... when i drove from Heathrow to chippenham we went 80-100 mph and then 60-80 the last few miles on the back roads.

i have farmer family in Pembina & Neche ND who scoff at the idea of a Tesla and claim it would never work for them. and to a certain extent it's true without the SC near them. i just can't wait to one day drive straight to Pembina and visit them. :)

i've seen 15+% decrease a 80 MPH vs 75 MPH on a 186 mile virtually straight west stretch of I-70 from Columbus OH (columbus airport) to Indianapolis IN (Indy supercharger south side of indy) 50+ miles drive, what speeds did you maintain for those trips?

just my opinion here... :) i have a 2016 6600 VIN range P90D and it's been not the most reliable and with the degradation the 90D (85.8 total kWh & 81.8 usable kWh) packs you will really only be getting the acceleration and cooled seats rather than more range of the 75D (75 total kWh 72.4 kWh...

my p90d was almost a year old and had a little over 1100 miles on it. i couldn't pick the car up for almost a month after i put down the deposit, (even though it was local), because it needed rims to be fixed up, 2 chairs replaced due to the insane amount of wear from the showroom and myriads...

ultimately it was to the towing companies fault and tesla's fault at the same time. Tesla should have arranged another truck because of the screw-up on the first tow company. (which did end up happening, thankfully) the last time tesla tried to get me a tow truck it didn't come for 12 hours...

perhaps a tad extreme? go to the lexus forums for the $100k-$120K LS460L-LS600HL and check out the "wind noise" issue they have all had as well... it all comes down to a small triangle of plastic smaller than a dollar bill that needed to be re-designed, etc... (I know this because I had one)

um in my case yes, it's a mistake. buy as new as you can afford as more bugs will have been sorted out and you may even get newer hardware for a better eventual self drive experience. my car is a serial # just before 7000 and i've had door motors replaced, latches replaced, trim fixed, FWD...

also note that you'll see a 20% decrease in range at certain highway speeds... definitely think this through. :)
