The suns glare on my morning commute (280 south / 85 south) over the past two days has rendered AP useless. Here's a photo of the conditions. You'll see on the dash that AP sees no lane markings and AP is unavailable. If my cell phone camera can see the lane markings I don't understand why...

I had the same thing happen again this morning. :( AP was flat unavailable for long periods of time and when I did activate it, it was a drunk driver. I gave up.

Did AP become unusable for anyone else this morning? Drive time around 8-8:30, Bay Area, I-280 south. I think the lighting conditions might have overwhelmed it. I got lots of lane jumping, not being able to see lane markings, etc. Worst AP experience since ownership.

I got a software update notice this morning (and I started install once I parked at work). But on the way to work, the AP felt like it had regressed (serpentine, lane jumping). It's like it had to flush out the fleet-learning data to make room for the software update. Hmm.

Happened to me driving north on a straight section of Hwy 85 near Saratoga. The car spent a number of seconds with the wheels in the left shoulder before pulling the car back into the lane. I've driven that section of road a lot on AP. Never had issues before v8.

The point is that for many people (myself included), the new AP is worse at lane keeping than the previous generation. You can't argue with that.

So far it feels like AP got a little better in some areas and a lot worse in other. Just today on the ride home from work, the car came out of its lane on a straight freeway. The car also weaves around like crazy unless it's following a car. The nags are more than ever. I think it better at...

I updated to the latest 7.x 2 days ago. Is it just me or does auto-steer now need less torque on the wheel to take back control? I always hated how jerky this was - now it's super smooth.

I went to San Mateo supercharger again last night to compare. I went from 30% to 82% in about 35-40mins. The amps were stable and slowly eased back as it neared full. I think it was doing around 150amps when I unplugged.

Sorry for the long video but if you skip around you'll see my charge bouncing between 80amp and 222amps. Video: Supercharger Is this normal? There were no movements in the adjacent stalls. It was frustrating that it didn't stay at 222amps. This is at San Mateo / Whole Foods

FYI: I got my lamp replaced at Fremont service center. They had the car for 24 hours. The service guy didn't know it was a trend - seems fishy. Happy to have my DRLs back to 100%.

Have you been in a position where you were low on battery and could have needed that extra few miles? I've had my 70D since first week of June and haven't yet driven it to less than 20%.

How do you know it didn't tweak AP? I just drove 30miles on the update. I drive i280 (sf peninsula), it probably pushes AP to its limits. I feel like AP has gotten better on fast corners and poor road markings. It could be placebo effect.

I said this before in a previous thread; after driving 36k miles in a 25kWh Leaf over three years, 70kWh is more than enough for my needs. I'd consider an upgrade if I could take .5 seconds off the 0-60 instead of the extra range.

I always wonder why the AP/Mobileye camera has a "stepped lens hood". Is it just cheap milling or does it serve a purpose?
