    Elon: FSD Beta tweets

When might people with score of 94 get the fsd beta?
  3. gowthamn

    10.6.1

Currently have people with score of 95 got the beta?
  4. gowthamn

    10.6.1

What should be the driving score to get this update?
  5. gowthamn

What happens with 2021.32.22 update if FSD is already installed?

I don't have the option to update software to 2021 32 22. What do I do? There is no option to update software. I am connected to WiFi

    Roadster vs Porsche GT3

I will have a Model 3 for daily and a Ferrari F8 for track and 911 GT3 manual for weekends.

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

For me it says delivery between September 7 and September 27. Today is 7. Still not arrived!

    Buying Roadster Referral

I would be interested in buying from someone who has the referral. But I don't know if the founders edition will have SpaceX package or not. And if there would be an option to add it

    Buying Roadster Referral

Trying to understand this. Why would one be interested in buying a referral position if they can still order cars online? Am I missing something?

Tesla charge taper vs others - is there trouble ahead?

What about voltage? Other manufacturers use 800 volts.
  11. gowthamn

    See Roadster in real life

Now cars have already gone over 300 mph.

    Supercharger - Bellevue, WA

I am trying to choose between M3P and MYP. It says 1 month max for delivery.
  13. gowthamn

    Supercharger - Bellevue, WA

I live in Redmond, WA. My home is under construction and that is where I will have a garage with a charger. If I get a Model 3 / Y before that can I charge in places surrounding Redmond for 2 to 3 months until the house is complete? I will drive for no more than 25 miles a day on average.

Large 3 ROW SUV using Truck platform?

Hopefully Tesla makes a Large Extended Wheel Base size SUV like the Cadillac Esclade using the truck platform. Model X is simply not big enough for a large family / pets and luggage.

Who needs a roadster when you have model s plaid?

I really hope it corners much better and has better handling, braking steering etc.

    Porsche Taycan EPA range

Porsche teased the 992 992 GR3 in that video !
  17. gowthamn

    Porsche Mission E

Yes, the range is disappointing. But Tesla does not drive like a Porsche. So either I wait till Porsche makes a bit more efficient car or use the car for shorter distances if I buy now.

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I have multiple cars. Taycan is for fun 200 to 300 mile trips only. EVs (including Tesla) are not suitable for interstate and coast to coast trips for me.
  19. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I deleted the post about that comment. Yes, when I tried to order Adaptive Cruise Control for by Boxster because my wife may drive sometimes, the dealer thought we were mad!
  20. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I created this thread to discuss about my test drive and other who have test driven the Taycan. Yet, many tesla fanboys who have not driven the Taycan have made posts here.

    Porsche Taycan EPA range

"TheTaycanDude" in the taycanevforum said he will soon have access to the car for an entire day. He said he will do such range related tests. He will be driving from Seattle to Portland and back.
  22. gowthamn

    Porsche Taycan EPA range

I think Porsche might remove the 12.5% battery reserve just like Tesla to improve range. Not sure though.
  23. gowthamn

    Porsche Taycan EPA range

Tesla too started out with bad range and improved later. Same here too. But since the Taycan drives better, it's bit sad that I have to wait
  24. gowthamn

    Porsche Taycan EPA range

I heard some info from dealers and from other people who are close dealers that Porsche will make an update from the June 2020 build onwards. An OTA update is expected to address the range issues. And improved battery capacity from the June build. Also, more roof and color options will be...

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

    No. Taycan just drives better
  26. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I agree the efficiency numbers are poor. I said that it does not matter as it's better in other ways like driving, looks etc.
  27. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

Also Porsche has more systems like adaptive 3 chamber suspension, wider tires and dynamic chassis control to improve driving experience but they consume power.
  28. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

In the real world people are getting better range than the EPA numbers. But for most cars, people get lesser range than the EPA numbers. This is wired. Anyway I don't care about efficiency for my use case. When has Porsche buyers cared about milage? Also Porsche has more systems like adaptive...
  29. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I agree that M3P is a awesome value for money. But, if you want the best driving experience irrespective of cost, it is the Taycan. Taycan will be my daily and fun car in the twists. GT3 RS will be my track car. And Porsche's first attempt at the EV has been MUCH better than tesla's first...
  30. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I think that's because you don't like ICE. Not because you like tesla's chassis and steering system. With a Porsche EV, we get the good torque of an EV and the best steering, chassis and suspension system from Porsche. That is hard to beat. I don't always like ICE engines. But I like Porsche's...
  31. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I know about it's much improved performance. But, I was talking about driving experience. They are not the same.
  32. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

We know from other Tesla cars that driving experience is not a priority for Tesla.
  33. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

A very detailed review by someone: Taycan Turbo Test Drive/Review: Even Seattle rain can't dampen your mood when you drive the Taycan @AlanSubie4Life
  34. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I don't. I assume that its a faster version of the P100D as they pack more battery. But, I may be wrong of course.
  35. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

Driving experience is different from speed. 30 year old cars are selling for millions of dollars. It's not speed. It's driving experience.
  36. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I know the plaid will be faster. But I don't think they would have improved the driving experience as Tesla is not interested in it. They are focusing more on autonomous driving.
  37. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

Yes, that is actually the daily average speed for most people
  38. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

Good, that person got 239 miles on a full charge on a Turbo. The 4S should have even more range.
  39. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

My range is not representative as I launched at least 12 - 15 times during the drive. I was in sports plus mode as well. It had premium package and LED lights. And I think the tire was goodyear something. Will check and get back.
  40. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

Yes range and number of charging stations could be an issue. But driving an M3P or any tesla does not have the same experience. Simple things like body roll, steering weight and feedback, seating position all make a big difference.
  41. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I test drove for 25 miles and lost 13% battery (from 75% to 62%). But, as expected I was driving extremely hard. No Porsche representative was with me. So, I drove hard.
  42. gowthamn

Got to test drive the Taycan Turbo

I got to test drive the Taycan Turbo at Porsche Bellevue, WA. Did anyone else got to test drive it? Its amazing. Did not expect that. It closer to a 911 in driving experience than a panamera. In every way (luxury, sportiness, handling) in sits in between a 911 and panamera. This is very close...

Oh dear... someone concocted a hybrid Model 3

It was a P100D ( not the Raven). I stopped charging at 80%. Still, it takes a long time. What do I do in that time but just walk around and wait? I could have lunch, but there was no good food available near the station. So I had to charge, then go to a restaurant elsewhere. That's twice the...
  44. gowthamn

Oh dear... someone concocted a hybrid Model 3

The time it takes to charge is too much. What to do at that time? I don't like eating in the restaurant where the charger is located. So I have to waste 40 minutes which charging and then go elsewhere to eat. That wastes time. And not all hotels have charging stations during travel. I rented a...
  45. gowthamn

Oh dear... someone concocted a hybrid Model 3

For everyday use EV is fine if one has a home charger. It's interstate travel where range, speed of charging and number of charging station matters. And engine sound requirements is a matter of opinion
  46. gowthamn

Oh dear... someone concocted a hybrid Model 3

Hybrid still offers the best if both worlds. Batteries are still too heavy and does not have enough range and takes too long to charge I like the instant torque if EVs and the range and sound of ICEs.
  47. gowthamn

    Might switch to Taycan

For a a non-sports car like Model S and Taycan, it matters less. Yes less is better, but given both are heavy its better to take the better handling one.
  48. gowthamn

    Might switch to Taycan

Its not about weight. But how the steering and suspension is calibrated.
