Sorry for the delay, I just noticed this. We're not too far from the mountains in this area, so I think that would be something of a draw for someone buying the car. If the buyer doesn't want it for some reason I will reach out to you.

This low mileage (58,483 miles) Model S 90D has been garaged all it's life. I have been the only owner, and it has a clean CARFAX. Upon delivery from Tesla it immediately received: Paint correction cQuartz Finest ceramic coating (entire car) XPEL paint protection film (full front, side mirrors...

Modeling cargo box in EV Trip Planner

Sorry, just saw your post. I liked the box a lot. I have not used a box before, but was told by the shop that it was one of the quietest you could get. The XL is a tad longer than I would have liked, but at the time the L was not available. It's just as well, though because the L would have been...

Got my ride blacked out today :)

I tried that and didn't really care for the feel of it, especially when wet. Of course, it was still better than scorched fingers.

Got my ride blacked out today :)

Looks good. What does that do for the temp of your door handles in Phoenix? I also have Midnight Silver and chrome handles get insanely hot when sitting in direct sun on a hot day.

Stategy for Lack of Spare Tire on Model S

Hmmm.....I just went through roadside assistance for a flat. When I asked them how much it would cost me, they said something to the effect of it being FREE as part of the deal. Being pleased with that answer, I didn't think to ask them if that was for the lifetime of the car, or otherwise.

    Tint question

Not sure how you can tell for sure, but it seems to me the shop that did the work has more to lose than gain by lying about something like that. The shop I've been going to for years relies heavily on word of mouth and repeat business for the bulk of it's business. Risking it's reputation by...

Rear View Camera split screen issue

I saw it for the first time just last week. Reboot cleared it up right away, and haven't seen it again since. It first came up while trying to reverse out of the typically-tight California parking space, so disconcerting to say the least.

4-Year Service History and Battery Loss - Model S

I agree with your concerns and will add two more: - How in the world will California-based Tesla owners get service after the Model 3 gets released en masse when they are having trouble getting service in a timely fashion now in some places? - How in the world will Tesla owners get timely access...

    What is All-Wheel drive worth?

Good Call. At some point you may want to take a trip someplace cold and will be happy to have AWD when you do. Also, you will be more sure-footed when those 4:00pm thunderstorms come down in the Sunshine State.
  16. Wuggado?

    What is All-Wheel drive worth?

I would say the price difference is reasonable. You wouldn't be paying $7500 just to add all-wheel drive. The Cyclones and the UHFS are also adding to the price, as well as the extra mileage subtracting from the price. BTW, last I checked adding AWD to a new car costs $5000.

    whispbar with cargo box

Yeah, dohmer said "maybe 10-15%" which implies no measurements were taken. I recently did a range test with a Whispbar and Thule Motion XL Limited which is a bit smaller than the Skybox 21, and supposedly designed for lower range loss and my results were a 21% decrease in range. Of course, there...

Modeling cargo box in EV Trip Planner

Thanks for all the previous ideas. Wanting to have some way to model a cargo box nicely within EV Trip Planner (so the multiple stops are all accounted for with each other stop in mind), here's how I decided to go about it: Do a range test, with and without the cargo box, on a 40 mile round...

    Model S Roof Rack

I'm not familiar with Rhino, but the Whispbars are pretty nice. A couple of things to look out for on the install: 1. When you go to attach the bolts to the mount points, there are different instructions depending on when your car was manufactured. I think for you it will attaching be the long...

    New from Tesla 100D (non-"P")

Of course, it depends on how many kW you would use on long distance trips (unless you plan on using it for local travel). For me it would probably take 100 years.

    Why 45 psi?

Got it, thanks. The display doesn't fill in any values for tire pressure. Maybe it takes a bit.
  23. Wuggado?

    Why 45 psi?

Interesting. Parked in the garage my right scroll wheel does not display 'Status' as an option. Any idea why that would be?

    Express Lanes and FasTrak

Not quite so easy. On I-680 if you have a transponder outside of the mylar it will read it and charge you. The I-680 lanes do not have the Flex hardware, so they don't know if you are using the lane as a carpooler or not. Thus the charge. As already mentioned, you have to have the Flex on I-580...

Modeling cargo box in EV Trip Planner

Thanks for the idea. I have yet to take a multi-charge trip, so I don't have practical experience with either planner, but the concern I have with ABetterRoutePlanner is it doesn't seem to take into account variables that would affect range such as wind, payload, cabin temp, and outside temp. I...

I wouldn't recommend bringing that car anywhere near the Bay Area. It would not survive the visit.

Modeling cargo box in EV Trip Planner

Has anyone ever attempted to model a cargo box in EV Trip Planner? It seems to me best approach would be to add additional wind to the equation. The question would be how much wind to add. I just picked up a Thule Motion XT XL Limited (new to the market) which is supposed to be more aerodynamic...

    Remove the Front License Plate

If you're talking about the refresh MS with the new nose, getting the bolts off is not that hard if you use the curved needle nose plier approach (do a search). Just note that getting the bolts off is only step 1. Step 2 is prying the frame that has been glued on away from the bumper. I didn't...

    Totaled My P85+!

Ouch. Sorry for your accident, but glad all are ok. At least it happened in time for you to order a new one and stay on the free Supercharger plan. Now you get AP2.0 and the larger capacity battery.

    Cabin filter/ionizer effectiveness

With Bioweapon Defense Mode, we went from pano roof open and pretty strong skunk smell to pano roof closed and no foul smell in about 20 seconds. That's not the reason I bought the Premium package, but it earned it's keep that day.

Stripped Model S better than Model 3 in any meaningful way?

I haven't followed Tesla nearly as long as many on this forum, but from what I can gather the first couple of years of the MS were far buggier than today's MS. It may be reasonable to expect a similar learning curve for the M3, although hopefully not as steep since they should have learned a lot...

    Got backed into :(

Sorry to hear it. I had the same thing back in July. For me, it was in the shop for 3 weeks after the parts arrived. Lucky for me the shop was in the same town as the Tesla factory, so arrival time on the parts was under a week. MP3Mike's estimate seems to match up with the experience that...

    Model S 75D Range Anxiety

Tribaltech, When I first started looking at Tesla, I was thinking 70D, but for many of the same reasons as listed previously by others I decided to maximize the battery pack to minimize range anxiety, and maximize travel flexibility. Now that you've seen the light on the 90D, let me further...

whirring sound - am I being too picky?

Do you have a dual motor model? I get a whirring sound on my 90D at lower speeds upon acceleration. I can best describe it as the same sound I used to get from a cheap car stereo I had in my first car, some sort of electrical interference coming through the speakers. Just to be clear, I don't...

    Negativity bias?

Just for one more perspective. I've had my MS for 4 months and haven't even considered going to the SvC for anything (other than a FREE charge). I have a friend who had an early MS, and he didn't take his in for service for the first 3 years, then took it in for a checkup just in case. Every...

    Porsche Mission E

Making their charges available vs. available for free are two different things. Luckily, I can charge for free on Tesla's network pretty much everywhere I want to go, so unless Porsche wants to put their charges in those other, less frequently traveled places (or make theirs free to Tesla...

Yeah, let's hope the SC doesn't take a crack at changing the codeline themselves. At least, this is more likely to get the issues on Tesla Engineering's radar than just posting here on TMC.

    Firmware 8.0

I floated the same hypothesis (post #2733) a few days back, but no one responded to it. It certainly seems like it to me, and makes perfect sense to me as well. If you're gathering metrics for a particular system, and you make a significant change to it, it seems quite likely that the new system...

    Firmware 8.0

Just guess here, but I wonder if all the previous fleet learning had to be tossed out the window with the current AP changes (i.e. different metrics being gathered, or gathered in a different way), and thus we are starting fleet learning all over again.

Summon / auto park in garage questions

Not only possible, but I would think better than sitting in the car. From the outside you will have better visibility for if the car is headed toward trouble. Pressing on the fob stops the car immediately.
