Experience with Ultra High Fidelity Sound

Yes. My experience has been that the system is source dependent. It shines really well with lossless music at minimum of CD quality in terms of layering, depth and separation. Those very same things that enable that level of quality can be unforgiving on a not so good source. For example if the...

Experience with Ultra High Fidelity Sound

As counter intuitive it may sound, try keeping the L/R balance at center and try moving the front /back a few clicks to the back. If that doesn't work then it is possible that the speakers on the passenger side is shot.

Meet Verity, the bubblegum-pink Model X

I will hide this post from my 3 year old daughter lest she wants me to do the same to our X :) Your car looks awesome. Enjoy and safe driving.

Things you didn't know about your Model X

Yes I noticed that too and was amazed at the little things that the engineers took care of in design.

Experience with Ultra High Fidelity Sound

My experience has been that on audio source that is CD quality or higher (16bit / 44.1Khz or higher) the UHFS is very good. With any other source it is meh. It is night and day. The big difference between the Tesla and other cars is the sound staging. In my car and my friend's MS I can clearly...

    FWD Stops Short

My X detects phantom obstacles in my garage and doesn't open fully even though there is more than 12" clearance even in a fully open scenario. I did the override from control panel only about a 100 times now. Every time it says Full open is set for this location but wouldn't open the doors next...

    K-MTG (Captain Sunshade) - Model X

Born in the 70s but the MX increased my vision powers by showing me ghosts at night - ripe for a shyamalan movie:D

Are Ventiliated Seats an energy hog aka wasted feature?

I can feel it through my jeans as well. It's just not like sitting on an AC vent.

Interesting. My X homelink works well for closing from quite a distance only problem is opening.

    Model X Wind Noise

Well.... It is no doubt subjective. What I did was drive both cars on the same stretch of road with all windows rolled up and no other sound source - no music, no kids, no phone calls etc and felt that the MX had only road vibrations coming through with a slight whine from the motor while the...

On fence choosing between Model X and Mercedes GLS

I was in a similar boat but convinced wifey to go along and now she appreciates that decision. Unless the car is meant solely for local commute having the extra range is well worth it. The question to ask wifey is - when you are driving the car at night, far away from home would you like to be...

On fence choosing between Model X and Mercedes GLS

Congrats! You will love your 90D. The $10K is well worth it in terms of power and more importantly range anxiety. If we had the 75 instead of the 90 on a couple of our drives we would have had to cut down on AC on a 110+ day and drive at 55mph on a 65mph road to get to the next supercharger...

My Journey to ordering a Model X

X is back from service - observations so far 1. Wind noise gone - SC fixed my wind noise from the front doors. They said they had to realign the glass on the quarter panel on both sides. Now the car is super quite - quieter than our MDX. (posted this on the wind noise thread as well) 2...

Should I take my X to SF?

I am running at 400 Wh/mi after about 1000 miles. Noticed a small increase in efficiency after tinting windows and windshield as DW loves a cold car and the AC is usually blasting. Don't expect to get better efficiency as we live up a hill and every time we get home the car drinks a lot of juice.

Are Ventiliated Seats an energy hog aka wasted feature?

Both DW and myself use the ventilated seats regularly and find that it does help, especially on super hot days the seats become a lot more comfortable much quicker. Can feel the air through the clothes and takes care of any sweatiness of the legs. The fans are LOUD though. As reported earlier...

60D/75D owners, do you regret not getting 90D for hp and torque?

My 2 cents with a disclaimer that I have not driven the 75 or 60 of the X, but have driven their S equivalent. You probably will be happy with the 60 or 75 as long as you haven't driven the 90D with a critical mind evaluating the power / acceleration. P90DL is in a completely different league...

I wanted to avoid posting this - windshield issue

The lower the eye level the lower the ghosting. It vanishes if eye at steering level. Maybe Tesla should introduce a superman mode for the driver seat to fix the ghosting. That with AP would take all stress out of driving :D

I wanted to avoid posting this - windshield issue

Not sure why someone disliked the post. I agree with OP, this shouldn't take so long especially after all the press and pics. Ghosting on my car is very bad - 4-5 ghosts. SC said it is still under investigation and they don't know how to fix it. My temporary solution is to wear Maui Jims at...

Today's update: 1. Tried Auto Perpendicular Park a couple of times and it worked flawlessly. My friend who was with me in the car was just amazed at all the things the car did on its own :D 2. Figured out that the wind noise was coming from the seal on the front window triangle seals. Just...

    Sunshade UnNeeded!

I had to get my windshield tinted with 3M crystalline 70% to be able to use it without sunscreen. Apart from that it gave my wife a headache and made the car a whole lot hotter.

My Journey to ordering a Model X

Being that paranoid person I am, and not having previously owned a car for more than $40K myself, I went ahead and did the full Xcel wrap + Quartz on my X. Model X Autopilot Problem - Pretty Scary

Couldn't agree with you more there. I have been a avid hater of cruise control to the point that I wouldn't engage it even on fairly long trips. Even someone like me am using AP more often that I thought I would. I am tending to engage AP when I know I am going to be slightly distracted, like...

Model X Autopilot Problem - Pretty Scary

My 2 cents: I was told initially during the test drive that the numbers 1-7 are car lengths but at pick-up were told it was seconds based on the speed at which the car is going. Full disclosure - haven't read the manual. But, my experience with the car seems to indicate the later. In bumper...

My Journey to ordering a Model X

Tried a range extender over the weekend as well. Put it right next to the driver door. Phone saw full bars but MX sees only two - the same for all my SSIDs no matter where the source is located. Created a separate network just for the car to see if it makes a difference - even that did not work...

Updates to my experience with the X 1. Autopilot - With so much news and noise around AP wanted to share my experience here. Things you didn't know about your Model X

    Model X Road Trip Poll

Did a 300 mile round trip from East bay to Ukiah yesterday. Had to supercharge at Ukiah and Petaluma due to 110F temp and AC blasting. On a normal day (<90F), I think we could have managed with one 20 min supercharging at Ukiah.

Falcon Crunch 2 - The Obstacle Strikes Back

@ohmman so sorry about the dent and scratch. I guess the thinness of the sign was too much for the sensors to handle. I was on the fence about getting xpel on the door. Now this tips me over. If not for anything else at minimum to buffer such shocks.

My Journey to ordering a Model X

Second day observations: The Good: 1. Car drives like butter 2. Autopilot is swell (had some anxiety regarding the news ... but used AP only on Freeways so all is well) 3. Sunscreen worked well. @ra-san - Thank you so much for the app. It worked perfectly to transfer my entire library on to a 128GB low profile stick. Easy iTunes playlist syncing for Tesla USB flash drive

My travels force me to drive a lot of economic rental cars and almost always I can plug my iPhone in a USB socket and play music right away without loss of quality over BT.
