My March 2017 X actually has very little wind noise, even at 80+ mph. It's quieter than my Nissan LEAF! It's just that annoying whistle that rears its ugly head on _SOME_ highways and at _SOME_ weird times.

Last night I went on a test drive on 3 or 4 different highways, traveling from 60mph to 75mph with and without drafting a vehicle in front. I can see why the service center wasn't able to reproduce it. On the main highway next to my service center, I could not get it to make the whistling noise...

Applied more masking tape last night all around the outer frame of the windows. Noise is still there! Next I'm going to tape around the entire windshield. Maybe a leak / gap there?

Should I be trying to perhaps apply masking tape from INSIDE the car vs. outside?

@appleguru that is so frustrating! And my understanding is that the whole dash has to be ripped apart and trim pieces removed (and potentially damaged) in order to replace the screen/MCU. I'm guessing they would have to do the same thing to fix the poor alignment at the top? In another thread...

For those that got a new touchscreen replacement, is it properly aligned at the top? The loaner that I'm currently driving has the yellow bar across AND the top left portion of the screen shows more black area than the right side, making it look like the screen is crooked and not aligned properly.

I just mean that I can see it inside of the camera housing. It doesn't wipe away with a cloth, so it's trapped "inside" against the glass. I guess it's normal and will eventually go away? It has been a few days now.

I hear a slight whine from the front motor of my Model X75D from around 50 - 55 mph. When going below that or going above, I don't hear it at all. I am guessing the motor whine is different from the DU sound that you refer to? Also when the radio is on you don't really pick it up at all in my case.

My SC has ordered a new touch screen for me. Hoping it doesn't take several weeks to arrive! In the meantime I have switched my maps view to "satellite" so that the yellow bar across the top isn't as noticeable. :)

Slamming on the brakes repeatedly 100% from 70mph won't "hurt" the car?!

So what is the proper procedure again? Accelerate up to 70mph or so and then immediately stomp on the brakes as hard as you can? Or do you not stomp all the way down but gradually?

I tried parking my Model X in my extremely tight garage and opening up the falcon doors with the garage door opener hanging down towards the front part of the car. @loganintx It looks like this cargo carrier is about 70 pounds, and the bag is about 9 pounds. That leaves you with only about 40lbs. free to put luggage on. Did you stay within that limit or risked exceeding the 120lbs. limit?

I hear the same clicking noise when turning the steering wheel left or right while the car is stationary. Should I take it in? Others have the same behavior in another forum, so I thought it was just normal for the newer builds?
