I do not know if this has been discussed yet up thread. But there no monthly options for April & May.

For those of you wanting to sell options puts. Would pricing be better on Monday versus today (Friday)? I am referring to Nov 13th (Weeklies).

I feel like I have noticed a pattern. If correct, 450-460 next week, ending on Nov 13.

In retrospect, we are bouncing between two approximate points (460-386).

My strike price for those weeklies was 375 and 370 Nov 6th. I am hoping it stays above that for next week.

For those of you have an option go against you on expiration day. What were the repercussion? I haven’t had this happen, as of yet.

I just did this, however, with limit used. With a favorable result. A sold another set of puts at 375 @ 4.5 (Nov 6)

I did have a question when you sell a PUT/CALL for the order type do you select market or limit. I personally select market.

If one's goal is to optimize the premium, you would wait until the TSLA is down approx 3% -5%. The PUT's for the next weekly become much more attractive. The only downside is it's not favorable to close out your current handful of PUTs. The solution could be two handfuls of PUTs. So I sold...

With the PUTs with SP down, I noticed an increase in premiums on the weeklies. (410) I sold an arm full at 270.

Because with earnings sometimes there is a sell-off even with good news.

With earnings, I think there will be a sell-off down to 370.

When Trump won 2015 TSLA went down 20% from Dec 01 15 to Jan 04 16. Approximately SP 48 to SP 38. I would assume the same is going to happen.

If this gets driven down to 370 I am selling more puts.

@adiggs I was looking at a covered put that is out of the money. The premium is pretty high. I had some concerns that I hadn't interpreted it correctly. This is a weekly. October the 2nd. Strike is 540. (TSLA) Call Put Options

One other minor issue is that your federal tax rate will drop. Depending on your state you will be paying 15% for a short term trade on a taxed account.

@adiggs you probably know this but margin can be turned on for retirement accounts (Roth) at Fidelity. Black Swan events would need to be managed.

It is called F I R E. Finacial Independent Retire Early. One idea is to take a less stressful position, that may have health care in it (part-time). In general, the rule is 4 percent. If you had one million that would be 40K. 2 million 80K. This also depends on your lifestyle. Fancy vs. lean.

The drop in TESLA SP was also seen in other stocks as well, such as Amazon (-7.6%).

I think he is selling his properties so he can lead by example. Basically, he asked everyone to take a pay cut of some sort. This is him removing some excess and using those funds elsewhere. (being helpful). Similar to helping a town with problematic drinking water.
