Payment Method now on Tesla's My Tesla Page [Since Removed]

Quite dramatic. We released government commodities data 8 hours early on a Federal website and it was picked up by WSJ which had real world financial consequences, no one lost their job over the mistake. In Tesla's case, likely just working on the website ordering system and testing out...

    Towing

Again, no more or less than with big rig duelly. The car is still aerodynamic. It doesn't lose that because it is towing. The energy penalty for towing is the weight, drag of the tow. For the EV's, the starting lower range is the main issue with the long recharge part of it. If you the knock...

    Towing

It's probably all proportional to weight of trailer to tow capacity and weight of the vehicle. Towing is definitely going to increase EV range anxiety.
  5. EaglesPDX

Payment Method now on Tesla's My Tesla Page [Since Removed]

Works for me. I wouldn't have looked at my reservation page or looked at this thread. That's a shame as I would guess this is a high revenue forum

Payment Method now on Tesla's My Tesla Page [Since Removed]

No more than deleting the T3 section. Different issue. In this case some forum admin and change the title would work. I realize it's clickbait for the forum and increases traffic but since the page change likely never existed be nice to get rid of it.
  7. EaglesPDX

    Towing

Efficiency in towing is not the issue. Range and tow rating are the issues. Stopping every 75 miles for a two hour recharge pretty much eliminates current EV's from being long range tow vehicle. But the market for boat towing is 90% in the 25-50 mile range so a T3 works great. For my twice...

Payment Method now on Tesla's My Tesla Page [Since Removed]

Because we are having this conversation over something that doesn't exist?
  9. EaglesPDX

    Towing

T3 should have an option (likely software) for 250 mile range vs. TX90's 257, lighter car so, if anything, the range on the T3 should be same or greater with the same towing load. Long range towing is not going to be an EV strong point due to the long recharge time and reduced range issues...

Ah...a five day wonder...or a mirage...deleting the faux thread or relabeling it would be good admin work.

Why are you buying a Model 3?

Do we have dimensions on the T3 yet to know how much smaller? Smaller, lighter more range is my preference.
  12. EaglesPDX

Payment Method now on Tesla's My Tesla Page [Since Removed]

Nothing about payment method on my reservations page. Wish I could change the color of the T3 they show above my reservvation number to red vs. the blue.

Silver is better and shines up like chrome. Or you could go the other extreme and use insulating material for trim, diamonds perhaps? Pink with diamond trim, the Hello Kitty model.
  14. EaglesPDX

Why are you buying a Model 3?

Closet tree hugger. Reduce GHG, cut oil use (air/water pollution, oil trade deficit, oil wars costs, stop financing oil terrorism) and promote the solution to sustainable future for US. Support US jobs and industry. Can't say that in my neighborhood (guns, gods, gooberism) so I say I do it...

Will the Model 3 support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?

Well that's a feature millions have been asking of their car radios. Whoa...not the ever popular Sony Xperia X1 Compact phone!?
  16. EaglesPDX

    Design Studio - model3config.com (unofficial)

Good for avoiding the ever present UN black helicopters singling you out but better to be a bright, visible color so the distracted drivers, kids, pedestrians and drunks see you first.
  17. EaglesPDX

Will the Model 3 support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?

Exactly. And with Apple making noise about building a competing car. The issue with Auto and CarPlay are that the nav and music apps are better than the crude nav and apps produced by the current car systems. Tesla has already overcome that and its use of the computer screen for car functions...
  18. EaglesPDX

Will the Model 3 support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?

That's actually impossible since the device has to be able to run the updated Android Auto or not. No. The device runs the apps. Doubtful that Tesla is going to run either OS on its car no matter how easily they can be sandboxed. Just too risking for Tesla

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Apparently it was since someone didn't realize Musk was talking about average purchase price of T3 I pointed out someone confused median price with average price, a few of the torch and pitchfork crowd, terrorized by the BMW330e than ran off shouting and gesticulating about it.
  20. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

I think I was clear that it was Elon Musk who said the average price for a T3 will be $42,000. QUOTE="MassModel3, post: 1689423, member: 27679"]I'm terrorized by BMW? It would explain the wild exaggerated comments about the BMW330e.
  21. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Someone called Elon Musk a "dead horse" for saying average T3 would sell for $42,000. I guess they were so terrorized by the BMW 330e ad they didn't know Musk was into averages.
  22. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

The $42,000 average for T3 was Elon Musk, hope he's not a dead horse. Since this is the T3 forum, no one is driving a T3. This is a buyers club at this point. LOOK OUT. HERE COMES A BMW 300e, CALL GHOST BUSTERS!!!
  23. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

The basic financials on car as per cent of budget has nothing to do with Tesla specificially. It applies to all cars. A $42.000 "average" per Tesla car is about the price range of the average US income earner or even the media US income earner. Not sure why that fact upsets some of the...

    The M3 terrifies BMW

You'll have to write a strongly worded letter to all the financial advice sites. I quoted and linked to one of them above, you can start there. I doubt they'll change their recommendation based on your being spooked by a BMW 330e ad.
  25. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Incentives are going away and likely before 50% of the current T3 orders are fulfiled. For a $35,000 car paying 20% of income that would be $175,000 per year which is top 10% level in the US. If one is going to propose only buying a Tesla EV vs. other plug-ins such as the BMW330e, correct...

Tesla Model 3 will have the new Autopilot 2.0 with dual cameras

I ignored your voluminous and repetitive bad tech (read up on latest camera tech) which said that stereo cameras three inches apart could not work as well as stereo cameras thirteen inches apart as long as one had the computer power to make up for the physical difference. The computing power...

Tesla Model 3 will have the new Autopilot 2.0 with dual cameras

@stopcrazypp "Actually more processing power would not solve the problem. " The closer the two cameras are together the less diiferentiation so the computer would need to be able to make up the loss. @stopcrazypp "The computer can't process something the sensors didn't detect. Tesla would need...

T3 base in $35,000 plus home charging station ($1,200 installed). People do spend more than they can really afford on cars. A basic financial site will tell you 10-20% total car price to yearly income. So T3's are going to be for top 25% income earners and those with ability to home charge...

    The M3 terrifies BMW

No. That would be the median. Average means that everyone taken as a whole commutes 12.6 miles one way commute. The small band of Teslerati terrified by the BMW plug in ad using the T3's long delivery time and aiming at T3 customers, on average most T3 buyers were not bothered by it...
  31. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Chuckle...actually EVERYBODY is what the average is based upon. Considering the BMW300e like all the Teslas including the T3 are for higher income demographics, the commute distances are likley less so the 300e would mean a typical owner would be on the high side of GHG gas emissions...

It is certainly a big factor in Tesla sales. 1. 10-20% of Tesla buyers are not concerned about GHG but buy the Tesla for the usual status reasons, it's expensive, rare and fast. 1. For those who do care about GHG, owning a Tesla confers quite a but of status for being the ultimate in zero...

I would like economy mode for my mdl 3-my thoughts/config

AWD adds little other than traction in snow and ice. On an EV it allows smaller motors and only using them as needed which cuts energy use and increases range. For EV's, the main range extender is going to be lighter batteries that hold more energy.
  35. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

I'm using my magical powers (they come free with every BMW 300e) to make you and all the other Teslerati terrifed by BMW's promo to post on this thread again and again. Way more than me. BMW seems to have struck a nerve in suggesting those waiting for a T3 get a BMW300e in the interim.
  36. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Yet it is responsible for likely 10-20% of Tesla sales and for other expensive, "performance" EV's like BMW's i8. The T3 will make the Tesla "common" and even further boost the sales of expensive status conveying plug in hybrids like the 300e and i8. What boosted sales of high end hybrids was...
  37. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Actually it does. Among those who are big on reducing GHG, the more sustainable one's lifestyle, net zero home and car, it definitely confers status. You've still got it backward. The T3 is already helping to boost sales of plug-in hybrids from other mfg.s and will continue to do so once it...

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Not if you want the status of a high priced BMW "performance" vehicle to impress the public with your low emissions, high income and aggressive driving. For that you'd want a BMW 300e or BMWi8. Nice that BMW offers cars for people who want to do their part with GHG while still playing the car...

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Probably 90% of Tesla buyers. Because Tesla is new, very expensive and relatively rare, there are probably 10% of Tesla buyers who do it for status and are actually climate science deniers. Probably 100% of BMW 300e buyers who are choosing pay more so they can drive a "performance" BMW and...

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Most hysterics think their fears and subsequent behavior are justified. In this case, a performance car with a 72 MPGe now vs. a performance car with an 89 MPGe later, there's no reason for the hysteria of a buyer choosing one excellent low emissions purchase over another. The more BMW sells...
  41. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

You do understand that the MPGe range I quoted for the 330e is only for the battery portion of the drive, right? You do understand that the MPGe range of 14 miles is greater than average commute of 12.6 miles, right? You do understand that if you go further and faster in a T3, it gets much...
  42. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Because, as BMW points out, you can buy it now, get great "performance", get status of expensive purchase and get as low CHG emissions as a T3.

    The M3 terrifies BMW

The "premise" of this thread is "M3 Terrifies BMW". Just the opposite of course as the BMW notes. The T3 gives BMW a great selling point for a performance plug-in hybrid that would allow someone to have a high priced, high performance status car like a Tesla now and not have the range anxiety...
  44. EaglesPDX

    The M3 terrifies BMW

Chuckle...20 pages of hysterical rants over the BMW 330e say otherwise. BMW's 330e is for people who want to cut their GHG emissions now by 30-100% vs. three years from now, run on pure EV for 60% of their driving and (so important to some Tesla fans) have a "performance" car that can do red...

Ford Fusion Energi has equal emissions and MPGe to a Tesla 70. Prius has done more to cut oil use and emissions than Tesla will do in 10 years with their most ambitious sales plan. Out of curiosity, have you ever seen a thread of such near hysteric Tesla snobs terrified of Tesla competitors? 1. US needs to sell 10M EV's per year to replace 250M gasoline cars/light trucks. Eyup. 2. BMW i3 and BMW EV's and hybrids are close to 10% of US EV sales. Good for them. 3. Non-Tesla EV's and plug ins are 70% of market vs. Tesla's 30%. Good for both of them. The bizarre snobbery of a few...

Lol...except there are 12 months in a year and you were off by $20,000 in income and the car value becomes $53K. But at $100K to $120K one is still in the top 20% of income so it makes my point exactly, $100K car is for the highest income groups in the US. The T3 at average $42K, using your...
