    Crack Front Roof

I'd say try emailing your preferred service center these photos first. If that fails, I'd try another service center. As a last resort, try escalating it from within your myTesla page. I had a similar problem on my car (<20k vin) which was covered by Tesla under warranty (link). Your camera...

Dirty Cameras - disabled NoA and Blind Spot Detection

Thanks for the clarification. No, looks like my error is slightly different. On 8.5, I've experienced 3 instances thus far where I'm unable to engage EAP (no steering wheel icon) when I'm not on EAP (I've never had EAP disengage automatically). The front radar section (area below the nose cone)...

Dirty Cameras - disabled NoA and Blind Spot Detection

OP - What firmware are you on? I'm wondering if it's a milder form of what I am experiencing (maybe not). I'm on 2019.8.5 (and have been for the last 2 weeks) and over the last couple of days, have received three "cruise not available" errors on screen. Error is intermittent and disappears even...

Electrician reference - Atlanta/greater Atlanta area

Can’t speak to the no-permit, as that’s personal preference if not jurisdictional mandate. Plus you can always apply for a permit with the city yourself. But I’ve had zero issues with my NEMA 14-50 since the time Marco installed it for me in Apr 2018.

Parking lot damage/dent, seeking body shop experiences in Atlanta

$6-7k - wow! If I may ask, did it entail a lot of back and forth between the Tesla certified body shop and the insurance provider, and did you have the full expense covered, or have to pay some differential out of pocket? My insurer (State Farm) quoted $1800 for repairs so they are nowhere near...

Parking lot damage/dent, seeking body shop experiences in Atlanta

Thanks for sharing this. My experience has been similar. Steve at ECR told me flat out they will likely be $600-$1000 over what he thinks State Farm will cover (basing on prior experience). He thinks I may need to pay that myself. He also estimated 3-4 weeks for such a repair (total time my...

Parking lot damage/dent, seeking body shop experiences in Atlanta

Tesla finally got back to me saying they won’t do it in house because of the damage to the rear quarter panel (metal). I suppose they can only fix bumper related (minor) blemishes in their body shop. Awaiting responses from a couple of third party body shops recommended by folks here (thanks!)...

Parking lot damage/dent, seeking body shop experiences in Atlanta

@Cowby, I see a few: Tesla Club of Atlanta, and Tesla Motors Fans - Atlanta with 10x members. Does either contain more specific info on the topic than the other? Thanks. @SR22pilot - Waiting on the Tesla Marietta SC to get back to me. I expected to be forwarded to Classic Collision. Hoping they...

Parking lot damage/dent, seeking body shop experiences in Atlanta

Hi folks, A sad day for me. I’d parked my car at a covered lot at my workplace and someone either drove or backed into my car while parked (and also left no note!). I just noticed it before I started for home and needless to say was distraught. Attached are a few pictures of the damage. For...

Car maker cheats on emissions, car maker pays the price, people still single out Tesla

Are Electric Cars Only for the Rich? Sacramento Is Challenging That Notion To be totally fair, I see some of the points made in the article (and fully support its broader inclusive spirit). However, my point is that Tesla is not the only one making cars at the said price points, considering...

Tesla Not Charging For Supercharging, Even Though They Should?

Yep, I charged twice in Oct (totaling about $10), and my CC hasn't yet been charged.

    New EAP Trial Stuck Forever

No really, but the trick is probably in the timing. I'd called the service line on a Friday at 10:30 pm (ET) immediately after seeing the error message in the car (note: all seemed well per the app, except the firmware version hadn't updated!). It warned me of a 50 min wait time. So I gave up...

    New EAP Trial Stuck Forever

If this is feasible, I'd check for symptoms of a partial software download/install (e.g., a large but <250MB data download in the days leading up to your s/w update notice). When my notice for 42.4 came (I was on 42.2), only half the update had downloaded and I had a "Software update required...

Part of my left side headlight is out.

Same as above. My car (19xxx VIN) had its glass roof replaced two weeks ago. I had shared pictures of the signature strip as I knew a service visit was on cards. The service advisor brought the service tech for his expert's opinion as the former couldn't see it in bright day light. The service...

    Iphone Apps

Yes. No. I rarely fiddle with my phone and the Tesla app nowadays to get pre-cooling going. I have a complication on the watch face for single click access. I've had zero phantom drain just from installing Remote S. I accepted the app's default of 5 second info updates so it wakes the car...

    Iphone Apps

I use Remote S (apple watch access) and Stats for Tesla (visualization of your efficiency/phantom drain etc. relative to other Teslas in the field, scheduled pre-cooling etc). Both paid, but nominal. Like the UI/utility of the former a bit more than the latter.

8 inch hairline crack in glass roof

Just checking in for the benefit of anyone facing similar issues in the future: Concern(s): 1) 8 in crack in glass roof, detected and reported to Tesla on Aug 24. 2) Signature strip in the daytime running lights assembly was dimmer on the passenger’s side than on the driver’s side. 3) Reported...

    Software Update 8.1 2018.34.1

It seems the crackling sound on speakers is back on 34.1, after you hang up a (bluetooth paired) phone call. Especially noticeable if you had music playing before you initiated/answered the call. Had gone away since 21.9 on my car. Pressing pause and start on Slacker usually did the trick before...

New owner of a Brand New Model-3 (Long Range AWD with Dual Motor)

I came from an ICE so had had Creep set to on by default upon the delivery agent's recommendation - for over 2 months. If you have creep set to OFF, the brake hold acts a lot more civil (doesn't need that donkey's kick to engage) and is so much nicer at stop lights etc. Since I discovered this...

8 inch hairline crack in glass roof

@Garlan Garner , thanks for the data points. Interesting indeed. I kept attributing the glass roof to the furnace-like feel esp. when I forget to pre-cool; good to note the contradicting data. Pre-cool 10 mins prior to the drive, or turn the AC on at full blast for 2 mins upon entry, and all...

8 inch hairline crack in glass roof

I agree with the “massive amount of heat” from the glass roof. Specific example from today from McDonough, GA. Outside was 75F at 10 am and inside the car (as seen from the app) while parked in bright sunlight was 114F. I have disabled cabin overheat protection as I suspected (not validated yet)...

8 inch hairline crack in glass roof

Yikes. Good to know. No window tint applied, just stock. @Roentgen - been 3 months and 2 days for this to appear, in my case (today’s at least the first I noticed it). Vin range is 19xxx, if that helps. I figure it’s random environmental stressors combined with the defective part that caused...

8 inch hairline crack in glass roof

Thanks folks. So I finally got them on the line after a 20+ min wait. They reviewed the photos and acknowledged the issue. I was told that I can drive the car (also in the rain) as usual and even if the crack widens, the glass won't shatter. ETA for part arrival: 2-3 weeks (go figure); keep...

8 inch hairline crack in glass roof

My toddler noticed this in my Model 3 while driving today. The car has been a 100% garaged while at home and it is parked in a covered parking structure while at work. I remember reading stories of some early Model 3's developing stress-cracks, but more isolated than widespread as far as I can...

    Software update - 2018.26.1

^^ ditto. Just received 26.1 today. Summon is a cool toy (toddlers loved being in the back seat while the car parked itself)! The door lock chime is hardly an annoyance for our garage (adjacent to our kitchen), I’d say the chime is more of a faint beep and not a blast of the horn, which I was...

    Tax in Georgia

Just FYI, when I picked up my car in mid-May, this wasn't an option offered by Tesla for GA owners. Tesla offered to order me a regular license plate, or work with me to transfer my old plates if preferred. You were asked to walk the plates over to the county Tag office yourself, if you wanted...

    Tax in Georgia

@swhang , I paid 7% on the total cost of the vehicle including the 5K for EAP (I didn't get FSD). FWIW, my insurance premium was also quoted on the net price. I tried explaining that the 5K was just for activating software, to see if they wanted to base it off of the car itself, but nope - it...

Keeping car on while loading up the family

My infant regularly naps in our car - usually on the way home. Which is where an EV is truly a Godsend. An hour on full blast AC and hardly a dent on the car's projected range. When we all get out and I take my phone with me, the car auto-locks and the A/C promptly shuts off. It's not ideal...

Vehicle sale and license plate question - Georgia

I just sold my car (in Georgia, and to a friend) that the Model 3 replaced and was wondering - 1. Would any of you fellow Georgians know whether you can transfer a STANDARD license plate to the buyer (individual, not dealer) when you sell your car? I found a form (T-237) that authorizes the...

Electrician reference - Atlanta/greater Atlanta area

Thanks so much for the references, folks! Got to only catch VM for a couple of the guys above. I ended up going with Marcos Palmeros (404 496 1405; for anyone who could use this info, going ahead) - he was the most cost-effective and had the best availability of the ones I talked to. Getting...

Electrician reference - Atlanta/greater Atlanta area

@terrywhite thank you. It's clear there seems to be a wide variation in quotes between Tesla recommended and local electricians (Cost to install your 14-50 plug at home?). Similar to auto insurance I guess! I'll reach out to Keith and report back here for the benefit of anyone who may find it...

Electrician reference - Atlanta/greater Atlanta area

Hi everyone, I'm a first time poster and would appreciate a local electrician reference for the greater Atlanta area (preferably a company that services the north western 'burbs - Smyrna/Marietta). I'm looking to get a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed in my garage. I estimate the install to be on...
