Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

That's something very important, that I have asked before as well without conclusion. So it really is true, that full regen is available when the new 60 is charged to 100%? Did you check that also with the energy display in the dash? That would totally make sense, with regular charging and...

We don't have our new S 60 yet. What's needed and how to find out these voltages?

With a new 60 software limited at the top, but not with any other Tesla.

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

What are you talking about? A Tesla (not even a 90) with unlimited or supposedly bottom limited battery does not charge with 36 kW when already being at 99% SOC.

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

I don't know about the voltages, but bottom limiting would make no sense at all, charging up to 100% would be slow, especially when approaching 100%, which has not been reported by any new 60 owner.

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

Yeah, it was really bad. Sat in a X last Friday during The Tesla On The Road Event, they didn't let me drive it because X test drives were fully booked, but I immediately wanted one! Went completely nuts, played around with configurations on the mobile, envisioned bringing the kids to school...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

The battery limitation is applied to the top end, which has already been confirmed by charging data (no point in limiting at the bottom, it would increase charge time at the SuC).

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

It would be great if you (or someone else with a new S 60) could try (1) and maybe some other experiments. For (2), that's interesting. Our Nissan LEAF does not even allow full recuperation through regenerative braking when around 90% battery charge. The LEAF has those double circles showing...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

I'd make an appointment for a X test drive at your local TS (in fact, I just did :)), instead of wishing for a more crowded SuC. :p

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

@Canuck, indeed, thinking more about it, I will just leave the charge slider in the 80% position for our daily drives in town nonetheless, which should keep charging cycles between displayed ~50% and 80% (so that's between ~40% and 64% actual charge then). The new S 60 offers enough range for...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

@Canuck, the point here is that displayed 100% in the new S 60 is actually 80% of its real 75 kWh battery capacity, displayed 80% are 64% of its real 75 kWh battery capacity. Cycling around 50% may be ideal, but cycling below 80% of the real battery capacity (which actually means below 100%...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

There is just no point in limiting charging of a software-limited battery with a 15 kWh buffer even further. When the new S60 shows 100% it's actually 80%, that's definitely of no harm for battery life and good for daily charging. So I'll be charging whenever possible and alway till "full" (so...

What's the current period between delivery confirmed and production started?

Nope, that's just what data from that spreadsheet shows for July. I suspect that config has a major play in batch production.

Just beautiful! White! Facelift! I would not want anything else! :D
  17. Master One

What's the current period between delivery confirmed and production started?

That's pre-production, so actual production is next (as shown by the spreadsheet, production should start between 10 and 16 days after order confirmed).
  18. Master One

What's the current period between delivery confirmed and production started?

Done, but there are problems with that spreadsheet (drop down for wheels and seats not working, days from confirmed to production does not calculate). I don't really like Google Docs, it's a pain in the arse to work here because it practically kills the browser on my low power netbook.

What's the current period between delivery confirmed and production started?

Shipping to Europe, end-montage in the Nederlands, then trucking to Austria is definitely adding a lot to the enormous waiting, and October is so damn far away, unbelievable! Have to keep my mind occupied to not go crazy about it.

Well well, I have just been informed by email and in MY TESLA, that our S 60 has entered production. :D So 13 days after order confirmed it is, no worries, and luckily no delay due to the fact that it's an European order.

Thanks, although data in that document does not seem to be quite up-to-date and/or complete, it at least give a raw feeling. Latest confirmed order to show production started is from 6th July, and the confirmed orders from this Month gone into production have a range of 10 to 16 days between...

Difference between Multi-Pattern & Next Generation Seats?

Well, no doubts any more, we went for the Multi-Pattern Standard Seats without real life comparison. One one hand we never liked leather seats for the before mentioned reasons, on the other hand the costs for the NextGen Seats clearly spoke against them (had to keep the total price below a...

So has anyone already received a new S 60 with software-limited 75 kWh battery?

Indeed, one-pedal-driving is the very best use of the regenerative brake, and it is a pity that it does not work when the new S60 is fully charged, after all reducing recuperation to nil is only in place for batter overcharge protection, which clearly is not necessary on a fully charged S 60...

So has anyone already received a new S 60 with software-limited 75 kWh battery?

Yes, that's what I was intending to say :) And another correction: There are two advantages of the more on real capacity, the first being the ability to always charge to 100% without any downside for battery life, the other being the premium supercharging speed. I'm loving it! :D

So has anyone already received a new S 60 with software-limited 75 kWh battery?

Yes, with the Tesla it will definitely be easier than with our Nissan LEAF, which only offers to charge either to 80% or 100%. The tricky part will be to find the most useful setting, I'd like to start the day with a full battery, but the first 1 km downhill (with the steepest part being 18%)...

So has anyone already received a new S 60 with software-limited 75 kWh battery?

OK, that is indeed very interesting, thanks a lot for the feedback on these questions. I did not expect that the charge slider goes up to 100%, AFAIK that was different on the S40 (with software limited 60 kWh battery), and it is kind of odd if the vehicle nevertheless brings up the battery...

So has anyone already received a new S 60 with software-limited 75 kWh battery?

Is it still speculation, that the battery of the new S 60 can be charged till full (=80% of real capacity) at all times without downside? the software-limitation is implemented in a way, that the charge slider does not allow to be moved beyond 80% (capping capacity only from the top end)...

Our Model S Bargain - Our Experience With Tesla So Far

Latest since our our first test drive with a Model S it was clear, that there is no way around it. Tesla Kills Resale Guarantee Program!

As I mentioned in another thread yesterday, they did not stop the RVG program here where I live. We also have different conditions (48/48% instead of 50/43%), and I am seriously considering it. Finally ordered my MS

I went for the standard seats due to mixed reports on nextgen seats and for cost cutting. Could not compare the two (all showroom cars always only come with nextgen seats), but I fully trust the standard multi-pattern black seats will be satisfying.
