correct no Tpms. Insides look fine covers have always been on. There are slight marks from the covers around the edges but I think those will buff out and are very small.

For sale 4 2020 Model S tempest 19x8.5 inch OEM wheels and covers $180

I upgraded these to a better looking set at 45,000 miles. One wheel in particular has some nasty curb rash, see pics. This will be a good value if you are looking for a backup set, winter tire set, off-road set, etc to go along with your primary tires. Willing to drive as far as LA to make a...

California DMV - Plates & HOV Stickers

I mailed mine on December 31. Bought my car in June but with Covid it made sense to wait for the extra year of eligibility. I wonder if it takes them till 2022, if I'll get the next sticker? :)

    why wouldn't they approve it?

California DMV - Plates & HOV Stickers

It's official! BLUE for 2021! Glad I waited. With Covid and WFH anyway I wasn't going to use it this year, and the blue will look a lot more mellow than orange.

Consumer Reportrs Drops Model S from Reliability list

Let's be clear, they currently make the best EV product, period, hands down. People wanting a good EV that has a fantastic fast charging network have no other realistic choices. Try driving a non-tesla cross country. And despite the issues, the car itself is still great. Choices are coming in...

    Supercharger - Chula Vista, CA (LIVE 4 Aug 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

Very strange. I’ve had 3 poor experiences in 3 different stalls in a row. Recently got 200kw elsewhere so not my car.

    Enhanced Autopilot is BACK!!

Wow! I was for a moment so happy that I hadn't paid $7000 for FSD when I saw this offer, and tempted to pay the $4k for the features I thought I wanted when I bought my car, but didn't think they were worth it. But then I thought for a while and realized that even this wasn't worth $4000 any...

    Supercharger - Chula Vista, CA (LIVE 4 Aug 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

I was there Friday around 4:30-5pm, in a new model S LR+ capable of 225kw, arrived with 25%, never saw over 105kw, averaged 70-80kw, charged to 60%.

    Supercharger - Chula Vista, CA (LIVE 4 Aug 2020, 16 V3 stalls)

The last two times i charged here, charging performance on the stalls that were not broken was nowhere near peak, was getting about 70-90kw on a 40% battery that should have been able to pull mid 100s

I've loved Tesla for 7 years. But after years of abuse, I'm out

Regarding all the discussion on holding value, I will throw in my experience. The car I purchased in june of 2017, a base model s 100d with only EAP and blue paint, had a $99k sticker or about $92k because of the available federal rebate so we can compare apples to apples. Let's take off another...

    Thankful for biodefense mode

Never imagined I’d be using it as much as I have been the last week. Thought it was a fun gimmick when I bought the car but now I truly have experienced the real value of it.

    Model S Trade-in heads up

This was end of June. At that time it was only inventory cars delivered by June 30. They were trying to juice their 2Q numbers. Considering their earning and stock price looks like it worked.

    Model S Trade-in heads up

Oh wow missed that you said 162 I was just estimating. For sure though you could do a lot better than I could have With a private party sale.

    Model S Trade-in heads up

Wow.....I must have gotten really lucky. You've got basically $40k more in options than I did.

FSD on a trial basis? Or as a monthly leased service?

Nope. How many people who would have paid the $8000 try the monthly option instead, and immediately cancel after they realize the features aren't there? I'm thinking that would offset the increase from customers like youl
  19. whttiger25

FSD on a trial basis? Or as a monthly leased service?

Why doesn't it make financial sense for Tesla? Because the value is not there currently for the consumer. Everyone paying $7000-$8000 now has either been tricked (if they paid monthly they'd cancel) or is holding out in hope for future benefits (they would wait to subscribe until those benefits...

Navigate on Autopilot is Useless (2018.42.3)

Please please please don’t tell people what they have purchased will be “worth” six figures. Until musk allows you to take your FSD Package to another car (no sign of that happening) it is NOT an investment. By the time it’s “worth six figures” the car it’s attached to will be likely a clunker...

New vampire drain after updating to 2020.28.5

I didn't watch it, I just checked in the morning once. The behavior certainly changed. I've checked with the same consistency before this and maintained 3-4 miles a day then.

New vampire drain after updating to 2020.28.5

My 2020 LR+ was losing 3-4 miles a day very consistently. I updated to this new version yesterday evening, and awoke this morning to a loss of 8 miles in 12 hours. I'm watching it today and it's lost 2 more miles in just 3 hours. Sentry off, cabin overheat protection off, I didn't use or enter...

FSD on a trial basis? Or as a monthly leased service?

I think that Tesla would have offered it as a subscription a long time ago if the product would live up to expectations, but the FSD product, as it is now, is certainly not worth what Tesla wants to charge for it. So they must sell it as a package with a promise of future updates to justify the...

Elon Musk Says Tesla Is 'Very Close' To Level 5 Self-Driving Technology

I think Tesla managed to cover themselves legally, clearly, but they definitely implied they were much further along with the tech than they were, regardless of regulatory approval. Just an implication, of course, but one that likely generated significant additional revenue. Hard to disagree...

Elon Musk Says Tesla Is 'Very Close' To Level 5 Self-Driving Technology

Was FSD Worth it to you?

When you use “infinite” value either saved or lost as part of an EV calculation, there isn’t such a thing as positive or negative EV even if the probability of a positive outcome is greater than that of the negative outcome. It’s still undefined. :) Current actuarial value of a human life is...

Elon Musk Says Tesla Is 'Very Close' To Level 5 Self-Driving Technology

Well, it isn't worth it to me, and I was speaking for myself, and that is a fact. But my ranting is meant to throw some cold water on the claims Tesla has and continues to make in SELLING the future of the FSD package. There's lots of fine print to protect Tesla, and I highly doubt that the...

Elon Musk Says Tesla Is 'Very Close' To Level 5 Self-Driving Technology

I agree with this. Because, our two eyes happen to be connected to a brain. The AI problems I see as most difficult to solve aren't even the object identification type problems. It's the true perception problems. Anticipating a construction zone that isn't in the database, such as cones closing...

Elon Musk Says Tesla Is 'Very Close' To Level 5 Self-Driving Technology

Do you or anyone know if anyone is or has developing/developed a standard NFC interface for autonomous cars to communicate with each other? Seems a standardized communication API that allows cars with different technologies and manufacturers to communicate and agree on the “state of the world”...

Elon Musk Says Tesla Is 'Very Close' To Level 5 Self-Driving Technology

I meant most of the engineers and developers, not customers. i bought EAP on my 2017 model s. By the time I upgraded to my Raven last month, I knew the only EAP feature I remotely trusted was auto lane change. Summon was a gimmick that was truly useful only a couple times. So I decided not to...

Elon Musk Says Tesla Is 'Very Close' To Level 5 Self-Driving Technology

Dude I gotta say, reading that screen shot made me literally laugh out loud! I’m all for the Tesla mission and I have loved my cars, but... I’m amazed this copy was approved but an entire team of people responsible for building and marketing a car like The model S. Most had to know that the...

Elon Musk Says Tesla Is 'Very Close' To Level 5 Self-Driving Technology

I feel like true FSD is about a merger between sensors and AI that is not only quantifiable safer than average human drivers, but also feels safer to passengers. Seems we are nowhere near that, it isn’t about edge cases. Those are important, but there is such a lo g way to go to what level 5 is...

100D owner: First loaner Model S (75D) experience at SC

State of charge can affect regen power, a more fully charged battery cannot accept all the current available from regen, thus weakening it. Also notable, the 75D battery in general can accept on average 25% less current at any given state of charge, meaning it's regen power should start tapering...

    Acceptable Degradation?

Compared to my experience this is high. My 2017 100D with 53K miles (somewhat equivalent cycles to 34k miles on a 75D) had 5.5% degradation.
