1.99% and 84 months and $0 down financing

I did 84 months at 1.99, and will probably pay it off in 50-60 without penalty. Low cost to borrow means I can use cash for investments that will make significantly more money than the cost to borrow, and this gives me the most flexibility.

    North Carolina Waiting Room

quick update, sounds like hurricane Ida is impacting the timeline for my delivery. Car is on a train currently, and they think it’s likely it takes a few more days to get to charlotte than what they previously anticipated. Scheduled delivery has moved from the 8th to the 10th.

    North Carolina Waiting Room

I haven’t heard anything from Tesla, but called their 800 number and scheduled a delivery date for Sept 8th. The car is on a train and is supposed to arrive in charlotte on Sept 5th. My VIN is 251XXX. Are you the same dude who bought a model 3 back in sept 2018? If so, we were in the same...

It was posted above. Carolina cooperative requires a $5 deposit to start a savings account. No application fee. Everyone qualifies to become a member.

1.99% and 84 months and $0 down financing

Now that I have your attention….Carolina cooperative credit union (Carolina Cooperative FCU) in Charlotte will do a 1.99%, no money down, up to 84 months for credit scores above 730. They will do this nationally (you have to be a member and can become one by joining a specific NC commerce...

Delivery times of Tesla Model-Y (June-July orders)

My EDD changed to Sept 1-4, which is the soonest and most narrow window I have seen yet.

Delivery times of Tesla Model-Y (June-July orders)

Yeah I didnt think they can recognize revenue if the vehicle is still sitting on the books though. Balance sheet would be out of wack.

Delivery times of Tesla Model-Y (June-July orders)

Sorry, 5-7 weeks. Was so excited to get a VIN.
  11. R

Delivery times of Tesla Model-Y (June-July orders)

I just got a VIN, but delivery update is now 5-7 days (when it was previously Aug 28 - Sept 10). Also asking me to make final payment, which seems early for delivery in 5-7 weeks. Thoughts?

Delivery times of Tesla Model-Y (June-July orders)

I am in Charlotte also, and have a white/white performance ordered. My EDD is currently Aug 20 - Sept 15th, and was Aug 19th-Sept 15th yesterday. Tesla is asking for proof of insurance now, but says the VIN must be listed on the policy. Imagine I will get the VIN a few days before actual...

    Summon changes

That's a good question. Where do I find that setting to check?
  20. R

    Summon changes

Anyone else notice, in normal summon, there are times when it will let you take your finger off "forward" or "reverse", and a "Stop" button shows up on the screen. If you remove your finger from "forward" the car will still move forward until you press "Stop".

    Supercharger - Smithfield, NC

Ok, how about this. Not sure why you would need 4 stops. You could potentially get away with just 2 stops, but 3 for sure. :) In any event, enjoy the drive and HHI.

Its about 570 miles...not sure why you would need 4 stops. You could potentially get away with just 1 stop, but two for sure.

    Enhanced Summon, where are you?

I think driverless cars in a parking lot are going to be quite difficult. As pedestrians walking in a parking lot, we frequently look to make eye contact with drivers to ensure they see us, followed by a driver "waving you on" and a subsequent "thank you wave". These three items (eye contact...

    Conditional Speed Limits Feature (2019.16)

True, but I would argue most humans wouldn't even be able to determine what "school days only" means. Is it Monday to Friday? What about "Sunday School" that many religious affiliated schools have. What about a summer break, Christmas break, fall break, spring break, or any other holiday...

Elon: "Feature complete for full self driving this year"

So you turned "it will increase by something like $3,000" into "By the way, Tesla is increasing the price of FSD to a whopping $8,000 after May 1st"?
  31. R

Elon: "Feature complete for full self driving this year"

Where do you get this from? I assume what Elon tweeted yesterday, which was far from conclusive on the amount and timing. And taken with all of the recent price increases/decreases over the last 60 days, it would be ridiculous to state the price is being increased to $8k on may 1 with any...

    Disingenuous Delivery Statement

Do you think it is possible Tesla knows something today that they didn't know yesterday? At the pace of innovation and change, I think it is highly possible. I get what Elon said yesterday, which was fact at the time. I also recall, prior to the Model 3 coming out, that Elon/Tesla said the...

    Disingenuous Delivery Statement

My sense is what Troy is saying, is that in the event of additional changes needed in the future, naturally, HW3 will likely be more future proof than HW2.5. I think that is probably something we can all agree on and impossible to dispute. So if given a chance, take HW3 over HW2.5.
