Stopped here on 12.29.23 direct from Omaha. OS temp was about 25. SOC was 30%. Still only got 50kw!! Anyone with more recent experience? Will be coming thru again and will need to chose. Thanks.
Charged here back in Dec. I was the only car there, SOC was 50%, and still only got 50kw from the 250! Can anyone share their experience with this charger as I'll be coming thru soon and will need to chose. Thanks.
This is one of the biggest screwups the SC Team has ever made! There are distant corners of the parking lot (NE best) that very likely would have worked. Instead, we get bad feelings and bad PR. Tesla should take responsibility, bite the bullet, and move it!! It's going to get much much...
Sorry, coming to this thread so late because my 2016 MX didn't have this problem. But my newly purchased used 2020 MX definitely has it. It disengages repeatedly on a clear road, without warning, with my hands applying proper rotational torque. It disengages repeatedly. 5 or 6 or 7 times...
Sorry, coming to this thread late because my 2016 MX didn't have the problem. My newly purchased used 2020 MX definitely has it. It disengages repeatedly on clear road, without warning. 5 or 6 or 7 times in under 5 minutes. Indefinitely if I keep trying. Yes, I'm putting firm torque on the...
The site is super active. Ground torn up and tons of machines, equipment and Tesla charge tower boxes sitting behind steel fencing. It's a real life Supercharger installation!
I recently ordered a Gen 2 NEMA Adapter kit but rec'd a J1772 connector! Yes, the phone number 925-273-8240 is still on the shipping label and is still 100% busy, and [email protected] still doesn't respond. Guess I'm in for a long ordeal.
Hey Tesla, please develop Sentry Mode for the 2016 MX. Yes, we know it could have a limited functionality due to the hardware NOT on the car, But at least it'd be better than nothing.
I hung a curtain in the middle of my garage and drove at it slowly. Several times. The car (2016 MX) did not apply the brakes. Don't know it it's the low speed (creep) or what. May try to find a way to do same thing at a higher speed some day.
Love the FWDs! They are defining. Major reason for my choice in 2016. Especially fun in a parade with them open, music playing, and second row seats occupied by waving dignitaries and a German Shephard. Now, if I could just get the "door-open warning bell" to shut off........ Luckily it's...
Charged here last night for the first time in a long time. First tried tower 3B but the cable would not fully seat into the port. Charging never started (car kept reporting 'open charge port' - it was open!). Tried forcing it in deeper about 4 times. Never got any green 'charging' lights on...
For the newbie to the Sioux City supercharger conversation, here’s the current situation: Construction on the Tesla SC has not been started. Tesla is still saying “Second Qtr 2021”, but who knows.
For now, the best you can do is Chademo. But luckily there are two (or so I’ve been told. I...
Nice to have this until Tesla gets their act together. It'll cut 120 miles off each MN to NE round trip. Also nice to be able to use CC. Just for the record, since there are at least 5 K&G's in SC, this the one at 1005 Gordon Dr, Sioux City, IA 51101, USA. Thanks for checking and posting.
Can anyone confirm whether the Chademo at HyVee is turned on or not? I'm going NE to MN soon and it'd be nice to have available. Neither ChargePoint nor Plugshare seem to say, that I could find anyway. (they do show a Chademo 'coming soon' to a Kum & Go.)
This distance with 2 adults and a dog can be iffy in winter temps, and could get real dicey with VERY low temp and/or a headwind. Best to carefully watch your Projected Range (open the Energy graph and select Consumption and 30 mi. Average Range settings). Keep comparing this Range to the...
Adding more in the Twin Cities, while leaving BIG gaps ( I29 Sioux City and Grand Forks for instance) just makes me mad.
How can they be so bone headed?!
Did you ever find a nice "Zero Emissions" frame? All the customizable ones I find are either really cheap or don't have cutouts in the corners needed for the tabs. My 2016 X came with 2 'All Wheel Drive' frames which is pretty lame. Zero Emissions is what it's all about.
Love's Travel Stop would be a great site! Quality upscale services and they do have SCs at other locations. Let's deluge them with requests at: Love's Contact Us Feel free to copy and paste the following... "Dear Love's, as members of the Tesla owners club, we'd be very grateful (and...
I called the store today and the manager is just as mystified about the delay as we are. He suggested emailing Hy-Vee corporate so I did. We'll see what they say. Weeks ago, at the suggestion of a Tesla Charging Dept employee, I started emailing [email protected] and...
Communication break downs can cause two parties to each think the ball is in the other's court, so they each sit an wait. Hopefully that's not happening here. Hope too that the city's 'document approval' doesn't expire and cause a re-review.
Every-now-and-then doesn't mean knee-jerk-random. ETD is known. Even with most short cold trips. Meetings, parties, games, etc. They'd all make good use of climate-on scheduling. Buy an Echo? or Home? Oh what the heck, I'll just hire a secretary!!
Hmmm, guess his "If you have a 6 KW charger, you will need 4 hours to to generate 24 kWh..." has some other meaning. "Smart" preconditioning doesn't do any good when your are retired, have no routine and take long cold trips 'every-now-and-then'. And much prefer smart functionality over yet...
He's using 6 K W charger which takes much longer. Much less time with higher powered charging. Can't give exact numbers. Just know it does.
Definitely need option in phone app to turn Range Mode on and off. Automatically even. Also need timer option to turn cabin heater on (and off) at...
Two comments and a question:
The Tesla Nav map still contains the flaw mentioned in my #53 posting above. It doesn't think you can turn right at Gothenburg exit (to go north). Don't believe it. Just continue west bound on I80 to exit 211, turn right, and the Nav will take you the rest of the...
Something to be aware of when approaching Gothenburg exit 211 from the east: As of 12/13/16, the Tesla Nav road database contains a flaw. It doesn’t think you can travel the 1/2 mile north on Lake Av/Hwy 47 to Platte River Rd, so it directs you to exit at Cozad, exit 222, and use US Hwy 30...
Hello from a new Model X owner / EV traveler. A question: Why don't the web-based charging networks like plugshare, chargepoint, chargehub, etc, just add Amp number to the icons on their maps? For sure HPWC, NEMA 14-50 and J1772 need them. (Don't know if DC-CHAdeMO and DC Combo vary; no...
There is plenty of concrete parking area around the Gothenburg site. (my home town!). I'm sure they'll use all they can. The owner is an avid EV fan. Owns the nearby motel too. See new separate Gothenburg thread for more.
CAUTION: Anyone using Council Bluffs SC should know that as of Fall '16, the I29 exit to US 275 is closed for major construction, AND THE Nav SYSTEM DOESN'T KNOW IT! Very distressing when under 3% having finished 190 miles from Worthington MN. Nav to Lake Manawa State Park, Council Bluffs...
Gothenburg SC would not be the best. It's 200 from Lincoln! And too few services. And I'm from there and have significant family there. (none have seen any SC activity). With an SC in Lincoln, Grand Island (96), North Platte (140) and Sterling CO (128) make the most sense. The 3's will...
