Got it. I remember in my 2016 Model S, I was able to unlock or lock the car from anywhere with the app. I guess technically, one could still lock/unlock using the app from anywhere for the ever 2023 Model X too. Just not open/close the doors until you’re close.
Thank you. I guess I have to be within “Bluetooth distance” from my vehicle for the app to show the open/close options. I thought I could use this function from anywhere (e.g. I could be in a restaurant or at the office).
I just bought a Samsung T7 Touch Portable SSD (2TB), and would like to partition it for music & dashcam.
I was reading these instructions but was wondering if there's anything new(er) or different for the 2023 model?
Has anyone else used a 2TB SSD? How much space did you allocate for...
Ok. I kinda figured it out. I guess I have to be within “Bluetooth distance” from my vehicle for the app to show the open/close options.
First screenshot is when I’m not within Bluetooth distance and other is when I’m closer to the vehicle.
Mystery solved! 🥲
I just got my new Model X a few weeks ago and am learning the amazing features.
Can I use my Tesla app to open or close the doors? I don't see the option on the app. Yet, I saw this video on YouTube. Help!!
I go to App > Controls > but I don't see options to open/close the doors.

Wanted to update y'all that I received delivery of my brand new Model X Plaid yesterday. Solid Black, in and out. Looks awesome with the yoke and six seats config is gorgeous.
And YES, the FUSC did transfer over!
Want to now wrap the Model X, and also need to sell off my Model S, which is...
Pay MSRP: Yeah - you’re right. The Tesla agent told me that I’d have to pay the MSRP on the demo car. After looking at several options on their computer - both locally and in adjacent locations (NC, GA) - I figured it was not worth going for a demo car, especially since most had at least 1k...
So I've been eyeing to pull the trigger on a Model X with this FUSC transfer offer. Going to do a demo drive this evening with the local Tesla center. They sent me a text saying:
"Wanted to connect prior to your appointment with us. Based on our notes, I saw that you were interested in looking...
Great point. Does anyone have even a guess of what that additional resale value amount is/ could be with SC01? An extra $1-2k, or do you think it’s much higher? Serious question since I’m considering using the current offer to upgrade my Model S to a Model X.
Moderator note: This post plus the next few follow-ups were from a different thread that has been merged here.
I am seriously considering moving up from my Tesla Model S to a new Tesla Model X - and am motivated to take this offer I just received via email?
Does anyone know if this offer that...
I own a Model S that's now a few years old (2016 model). Still doing great, but have been looking for some wheel caps to freshen up the look and hide/protect some of the wear and tear.
I could not find wheel caps for my Model S, but just found this (Rim Protector):
EVAAM® Aluminum Alloy Wheel...
They have a tiny sign as you enter the parking lot - indicating that the Tesla Supercharger is on the 6th floor. But I agree a few more bigger ones will be helpful!
I have seen hub cap wheel covers on sale for various Tesla models, but have not seen one for the Tesla Model S. Yet. Have any of you seen one?? Thanks for your help folks!!
Here's one for another Tesla model on Amazon
Well guess what folks, the Tesla Supercharger at the new Metropolitan location seems to be almost ready to roll. See pic I took this week. Any idea when they’ll make this operational?
I got the email this morning too, and can't wait to get the upgrade when they have it ready. I have been frustrated with the issues of late, and it's been dangerous.
Interesting article related to this.
Question I have is: will this hardware upgrade allow us to get some of the new features...
Have anyone experienced this error message?
I have an alert to update to 2019.36.2.1, and have been trying to do this for days. But every attempt fails, and I get an error message that simply reads: "Unable to start update. Try again later".
I am currently on 2019.32.12.7.
Any suggestions??
Would you recommend that I take my Model S in for service/maintenance? I did take her in around the 1st anniversary.
How much do you think it'll cost me, and what will they do?
Thank you!!
I shot off this post too soon. I just checked with my tax accountant, and apparently, this was included with my tax returns! So I'm happy about that... but disappointed now realizing that my tax returns last year were not as much as I had thought they'd be. Oh well!!
At least I got the rebate!!
Hi folks. Got my Model S a bit over a year ago. I believe we are eligible for $7,500 income tax credit (federal) as well as $1,750 (PA State rebate, first 250 applicants).
I submitted these when I filed my taxes last year. I did get the $1,750 from the PA State, but have not heard back at all...
So my Model S is a little over a year new. I think I should take it in for service. Couple of things in my mind:
I believe there was a recall notice that was non-urgent some months back
I had heard that some Model S vehicles may qualify for a performance boost update that needs to be done at...
The Lane Departure "vibration warning" is hardly noticeable for me. Essentially useless.
I wonder if my settings are different?? I cannot see much in the settings beyond turning this feature on and off.
I think Telsa should DEFINITELY have a visual and auditory warning option for this often...
If this may be helpful to anyone reading this thread, here's where the friction happens! (see photo). That's the center arm rest console on the left and the driver's seat on the right. Creak creak creak...
I will try the Krytox and see how that goes.
I would expect Tesla to address this...
