BYD opening ‘megastore’ next to Tesla Cremorne/Richmond (VIC)

Clever. BYD’s new megastore will literally have the same address as Tesla 650 Church St Cremorne.

    Car Insurance Options

Its no so much the impost of the premium, it is the premium that applies to tesla insurance premiums :) and that is for the companies that will actually insure them. I have more than one car, and insuring the tesla each year is by far the hardest. Edited to add: oh and if you got the best deal...

    Car Insurance Options

Another data point for insurance .. this week I had the RHS headlight of my ModelX replaced. It was done under warranty, but I was curious so I checked the price. I found it online, new, for under A$500. Many of you have probably replaced headlights of other cars and know that its a very...

    Tesla iphone widget gone?

So..today there was a white box where the tesla widget used to live on my iphone’s lock screen. Tesla no longer appears in the list of widgets available. Has anyone else seen this issue?

That’s a really good point, as is the comment from @qldoldun insurance should be coming down (or at least not going up so quickly relative to other cars) and it isn’t

A quick plug for Hollards/CBA. My wife had a claim on our X, other driver was at fault. accident happened 2 days before insurance with Hollard expired, and we had already subsequently renewed with a different company. Despite this, Hollards was magnificent to deal with. Helped along with video...

    Brake rotor replacement model x

Has anyone replaced the brake pads on their model X and *not* replaced the rotors? My front pads need replacing and tesla (without seeing the car) have quoted for rotor replacement as well. Looking at the different forums there is talk of rotor warping, but mine seem fine, surface is smooth...

Insurance is getting out of hand

Postscript.. after contacting about 8 insurers ended up getting a new policy with the existing insurer. Note I said “new policy”. Their offer to renew came in at $500 more expensive than going and getting a new policy. Just for anyone out there who doesn’t know this already (surely no one) There...

Insurance is getting out of hand

I say it every year, but insurance is Tesla’s achilles heel in this country. I don’t know what other EVs cost to insure, but this year when my wife heard the NRMA premium she said, “why don’t we just sell it..” Repair costs cited as a reason Hertz is selling a large part of its Tesla fleet in...

Insurance is getting out of hand

Usual insurance runaround for my modelX annual renewal. No demerits, old guy, rating 1, etc etc .. NRMA 8.4k, 4 times a couple of the others. That really is F* off pricing

    Car Insurance Options

Just a word of warning re windscreen ’no excess’ replacement. Check the fine print… I was about to insure another car (not a tesla) and the insurance company had the usual windscreen replacement with no excess *except* that in the fine print the windscreen cost was capped at $1500.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Speed is easy because it provides an excuse for the revenue raising of speed cameras. In actual fact drowsy driving, alcohol and distraction are the three global leaders of road accidents, and the focus of the new GSR and EuroNCAP legislation. Speed does not feature.

    Model S 12v battery

At least you get a warning these days, but when they start to go they go fast, the X is worse than the S in terms of speed of decline once you get the notification. I am on my 3rd. All that said, in your set of circumstances I’d do it. Cost effective insurance. And look at it this way, you are...

    Model X brake pad life

After 120,000km on the original set of pads (2016 Model X) I am starting to wonder how long they actually last. I know brake pad life depends on how you drive, but as someone who replaces the pads on other cars quite regularly and drives the X pretty hard, it is a continual source of amazement...

Insurance is getting out of hand

I *hate* insurance renewal time with my X. What I have found is a company that is great one year is crap the next. Over 8 years I probably have had 5 different insurance companies. There is a time component, you have to strike the right insurance company at a time when they need more customers...

    N2itive Camber Arms

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

Even if it does become an avenue to restore RHD models, it will be years away. I am doing some work now getting new technology into the auto industry and I am staggered at how long it takes to go from idea to production reality. Compliance (read safety) testing plays a big part and for something...

Can someone help diagnose this noise?

..and the answer is.. it is the fan on the autopilot computer. Board is being replaced. Tesla is getting grief these days for its customer service. the fact that you can’t call and talk to someone is often a pain, but we need to remember that is being driven by head office. I have worked for...

Can someone help diagnose this noise?

Hi all.. just in the last week my 2016 Model X has started making a weird noise like repeated dying gasps.. it seems to be coming from behind the dash on the passenger side.
