    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Keep in mind plaid was never 15K under what is is now. At most you would be saving the amount of the recent plaid increase.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Two different things. What was debunked (or at least has not been proven) is the notion that people with newer orders are being prioritized over older (pre-price hike) orders of that exact same config because of the lower price/margin. But yes it's been established that delivery timelines are...

Radar Removed from Model S now too...

It doesn't matter in the end, all Model S with vision capable cameras will have their radar disabled once the FSD software is pushed to all. So for a period of time until they declare FSD out of beta you will have radar but only until then.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Check your order agreement. Over time they reduced the number of days from their initial attempt to notify you to accept delivery or face cancellation. My order from later last year says 30 days, yours may be 60 or 90. That means you can refuse delivery at this time and have up to that number...

MODEL S REAR REFRESH FEB 2022

And Tesla doesn't do updates based on model year.

    I Ordered a Taycan

That's comparing a RWD to AWD car. Depending on location it may not be a big deal, but a core difference that would apply to many.
  9. A

    I Ordered a Taycan

Why the comparisons to the plaid when a LR is the same car with less power (but still more than the Taycan)? I love the Taycan as well for what it brings, but there is no mistaking it's a much more expensive car.

cost to drive a luxury EV, such as a Taycan, Tesla Model S or X or Jaguar I-Pace, is $15.52 - 100 miles - Detroit free press

It's interesting how the mentality of needing to go somewhere to "fill up" comes through in articles like this. Rarely is it called out that even disregarding the cost comparison, having your own "pump" at home and always having a fueled up vehicle is such a time and stress saver.

    More Price increases…..

Of course they all are, but only Telsa publishes the actual sales price online so it's visible. Going into a dealership to buy another manufacturer's vehicle you'll find no more incentive programs and a lack of negotiation power raising the sales price on all vehicles considerably. At this...

    Model S Refresh - 2021 or 2022 Model Year?

Yes my Model X purchased in Dec 2019 was a 2020 Model Year. All new model year cars go through various certifications and one of those is efficiency/range. Tesla strategically renames their models and/or model years to get official range changes. That year they happened to release a new...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

These comments come across the first month of every quarter. The "shorts" like to point at Tesla deliveries being down in the first month of the quarter knowing full well the first month is spent building vehicles for shipments to other countries but that doesn't help their narrative. I agree...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

The car sale with the revenue (and profit) is separate accounting from cash. What you are describing is really no advantage to them, in fact it would be extra expense to build and deliver cars based on payment type vs the batch processing they do today.

EV Rebates may be returning soon including Tesla based off current administrations package

I'm not sure they would, they didn't reduce the price the full credit that went away, it was only partial. Plus it'd be a bad look. Maybe a couple thousand or they will delay or eliminate a planned decrease. Assuming it will have no benefit to consumers is a stretch.

Model S Refresh Est Mileage Revised Downward?

That's if you choose the 21" wheels. They are being more transparent about the range loss with performance wheels and tires.

No more free unlimited supercharging for some used Tesla vehicles

The key point to this is that nothing will be removed if the vehicle does not come into control of Tesla. If you trade in a car to a non-Tesla dealer (including Carvana, etc) they will sell it with all the functions purchased for that vehicle. However if it goes through Tesla as a trade in...

    2022 Austin Model Y vs 2021 Fremont Model Y

There will be differences because of manufacturing equipment, possibly quality, but none of that has to do with the OPs list which are features and specs.
  21. A

    2022 Austin Model Y vs 2021 Fremont Model Y

This is not a good comparison. Why austin model Y against fremont this year? Everything you listed are improvements to the car unrelated to factory location.

    Y vs Taycan

All the cars you mentioned are sports cars. What makes this different is that it's a CUV vs sports car. Also they clearly state that they chose these because they are close in price, not sure why you wanted to compare on price to try to make a point?

    Updated Towing Capacity (2021)

As with most towing setups you run out of cargo capacity before trailer weight. Adding 500lbs hitch weight leaves only a few hundred pounds of passenger and cargo capacity. Upping the trailer weight rating wouldn't do much good for most unless you'll be the only one in the car.
  28. A

Model Y vs Mustang Mach E

When you've bought ICE cars in the past did you buy based on the size of the fuel tank or MPG? It's interesting that with EVs many focus on range vs efficiency now. You may not need the range but will be paying more to drive (not including other costs like insurance and maintenance).
  29. A

Placing a Model X order ahead of the supposed refresh...

The intent here is to lock in before price changes as I'm thinking about the same thing. I wouldn't say they don't build to order, they clearly use the orders to know what to build and assign VINs to orders during the manufacturing process.

    Tesla X without FWD Poll

There is no Model X without the FWD - so much would need to be redesigned that it wouldn't be a model X anymore.

What is best way to resell model X

Autotrader gets a lot of traffic and has worked well for me. Also sold to Carvana in the past. Vroom lowballed me both times.

    Model X January Deliveries/Advisor Ghosting

2021 Model X Long Range Plus vs 2020 Model X Long Range Plus

Tesla does not implement changes by model year. As the poster above mentioned they did put a new HV battery into production late this year which added 20 miles range, so ask if the one on the lot has it.

Double Paned Windows on Model X

    Battery Upgrade Possible?

That competitor doesn't exist, and I'd prefer tesla continue the focus on innovation than what you describe. Tesla would not have survived if they spent money and time on battery swaps.
  37. A

    Battery Upgrade Possible?

You think the battery is the only change? Also something missed in this thread is crash testing and other regulations. Tesla would be braking the law by allowing battery upgrades. Components have to be matched to a crash tested and certified config to be allowed on the road. Case in point...

  40. A

    Battery Day

Prices will not change a week before the end of quarter during the delivery rush or they'd have a mess on their hands. Either this day will not be something specific going into their vehicles soon or it's already happened and all cars are already made with it.

    August/September VIN Notifications And Deliveries

They do not announce major product changes near the end of a quarter or they'd have all kinds of refused deliveries during the rush. All major product changes have been announced in the first few weeks of a quarter.

75D vs Long Range Plus Charging rate

There are 2 factors - peak charging rate and taper. Peak charging rate is higher on Raven LR+ (200 to 225 depending on build date) vs older 75D (I believe 130?). So you may or may not see much difference in peak on v2 chargers. However, the larger battery size means that you have more ability...

    2019 model x shows 328 miles

Something changed between the E and F batteries, but I haven't seen details on what. Regardless, the software update for LR+ did not increase the range. It only increased the displayed range. The range was already there with the hardware improvements.

Power Limited - Please Schedule Service - Potentially Trailer Mode Related?

I have the same problem so following this and have a theory. As part of the 7 pin connector there is one spot for a 12v line that is to help power the trailer when plugged in. Recent model Xs have come with that pin disabled, so that the trailer does not draw any power from the car. There is...

MXLR+ no FSD SoCal receiving 20.12.11.1

Speed limit sign reading is a known patent held by mobileye, so either Tesla will be playing a dangerous game when releasing FSD fully or they are just waiting until the last minute to license that functionality.

MXLR+ no FSD SoCal receiving 20.12.11.1

Recent updates have been a lot more exciting for FSD so those of us without it don't see much.
