This good advice is simply impossible to follow in Washington State right now. They have only tested 250 people in the entire state as of yesterday. The only people that can get tested are the ones that have been admitted to the hospital. Hopefully this will change very soon.

The story I remember, (I don't have the article) is that Elon wanted to just pay Tesla's portion of the fine, but the SEC explicitly forbid him from doing so, but agreed to this share purchase plan. I think this was Elon trying to do the stand up thing, within what the SEC would allow.

I agree, and think another factor may be that these businesses serve more urban and Suburban clients than many. For these areas the stop and go driving dynamics, pollution, and noise pollution aspects may be of more importance, than to businesses who operate largely in industrial, and rural areas.
