So Tesla ranger service came out today and finally replaced this part, took about 30 minutes, after waiting for 2 months for a new part. Hopefully this new revised part lasts longer!

Has everyone else got this part replaced?? I have been waiting for 2 months now on it, and the service center keeps telling me they are escalating the issue, and have no further update....

Been waiting for my part replacement now for 3+ weeks. Guess I’ll call in again tomorrow and see what is taking so long!

if they just made it so you can dismiss that error, and just keep the red exclamation point I wouldn't care as much. But that huge error message over the display is just ugh. Still waiting on my part replacement.

I had it before the latest, and it carried over into the latest. Tesla confirmed its a known issue and they have a revision to fix it.

If you go under controls you will see all 3, since trunk isn't on the first page of the app. and you can do it under there in bluetooth range.

I haven’t tried the widget yet, only the app. Will have to test that out as well.

Still waiting for my part. It’s supposed to come this week, and a ranger should be replacing it.

Pretty sure the trunk and frunk can be popped while it still says connecting. I believe they use Bluetooth to allow for instant access. You can see they are white while other options are grey while it says connecting, and in my tests they open, even while the app still isn’t connected.

Just got 2018.10.5 tonight as well. Same as everyone else reporting. Will be able to test out the EAP tomorrow.

My doors were unlocked, it seems he’s keeping it unlocked since anytime I check on it, it shows it’s unlocked.

I have my car getting detailed in valet mode, and he needed the frunk open so I did it from the app and he said it worked. You sure it doesn’t work while in valet mode?

Mine did that random open and close when near it too before I started getting the error. Sounds like the same problem, and seems like a known issue by Tesla, so I would get it recommend getting it replaced as well.

Had this happen to me 5 days after delivery. Same day as my first car wash. I call, they say its an issue with water getting into the port, a bad seal, and tesla has a new part to fix it. They ordered the new part, and will schedule a time for replacement once the part comes in at my work/home...

I was thinking about a lease, though I never did one before. The thing I look at is, even a 2 year lease, after the deposit is 20,000. At that point I would rather put that towards the car, then to give it up. I usually don't keep my cars that long, but I am thinking with thee way Tesla does...

I don't know all the acronyms! The premium upgrade package is what I meant by that. I have an all black BMW now, was trying to get a two tone color on the inside. Not the yellow tan, but the white color is what I was thinking...

Hey guys, this is OP, I changed my username, just an FYI. Thanks for all the info. Also, the more I go back and forth on this, I am now leaning on just getting a new 60D come March 2017ish.
