    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

Can someone with an existing Model 3 confirm this?

    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

Completely agree that it shouldn’t be a deal breaker. Other benefits by far outweighs lack of heated steering wheel, especially if otherwise considering an ICE car. And we obviously ordered our new Model 3 without knowing. But I still really hope that it’s physically there and can be enabled...

    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

I have a heated steering wheel in my Model X. I love it, use it all the time during the cold season and really hope it will be available via OTA update for the Model 3 that we have on order. Shaves off ~15 min of pre-heating time to make car feel warm and comfy which means I can start...

    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

One way of reconciling the conflicting information would be if SR cars built in China lacks the heatpump while the Freemont ones includes it. If the upcoming EU SR deliveries are Chinese, that would explain why EU customers are being told that SR lacks the heatpump while NA customers seem to be...

    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

Wow! I think you're right. How could we all miss that? Does this mean it's actually a facelift? ;)

    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

You're confusing second hand verbal reports from internal Tesla staff and marketing speak from a newsletter with actual objective facts. And then, when extrapolating the seemingly contradicting data points you're arriving a different conclusions and accusing each other for being intentionally...

Where, Oh Where, Is the Next Batch of Invites?

Wild optimistic guess: They’re about to enable configuration of dual motor version and want to give early reservation holders holding out for that the chance to get their orders in place, before opening configuration up wider?

I am now planning to get the full self-driving option and here is why

Unfortunately they do. But cars can still last 20+ years. Most end their days because of mileage/costly repairs that has nothing to do with climate and salt. Just googled it and our average age of cars on the road is right over 10 years. So die hard optimist that I’ll be able to keep the car...

I am now planning to get the full self-driving option and here is why

Well, I guess I’m more optimistic than you regarding the timeline. I expect some functionality, if not true FSD, sometime 2019 with continuous improvements after that. But that’s an opinion based on my extrapolated guesstimates. Legal climate over here is that they’re evaluating it and paying...

I am now planning to get the full self-driving option and here is why

That's exactly why I bought FSD for our X. Imagine the depreciation on the ones without if it turns out they get FSD released. Who will not want to have self-driving then? And unless you can buy (the more expensive) upgrade then, you're stuck with a manual car.

    Gwynne Shotwell

Long time lurker here in the SpaceX forum, thanks for all useful info. Really helps building up my excitement. Watching the Shotwell video, specifically her videos on reusability, I notice something weird around the 14 minute mark as the booster makes its way back to Earth. The booster is still...

    Ski rack for X finally

Actually, it was a real pain to get them to deliver even to Sweden. For some reason MFT themselves won’t deliver outside Germany/Austria. But I found a few resellers that could work around that. I ended up buying from a German web shop that did EU wide deliveries, but spoke to a Dutch reseller...

    Ski rack for X finally

Here's a European solution. Ordered the box from Germany and have used it extensively when heading into the Scandi mountains. Thoroughly recommend it. Fits skis up to 191 cm (≈6'3''). Barely affects range/consumption at all. Consumption for my 90D with the box on hovers around 220-230 Wh/km...

Highest production VIN in the wild

I ordered my Model X in September 2016, but requested delayed delivery to March 2017. My car was first assigned a 2016 VIN, but the VIN was subsequently altered (the character representing model year changed, the sequence number and everything else was left untouched) to reflect that it was...

    Pictures of production Model 3s

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Visited the Fremont factory yesterday for the factory tour (awesome!). Snooped around the parking lot for a while and saw about a dozen Model 3's. Couldn't find any higher VIN than 185. Shouldn't they be further along by now if they are to make October deliveries to non-employed customers? Fwiw...

    Fwd again

My car seem to store distance to detected obstacles when I park the car. If I for instance park in a tight spot so that the door (correctly) should open just a little, it will often be as careful opening the door again even if the car next to it has moved so that the obstacle is completely gone...

Ventilated Seats option is quietly removed from the "Premium Package"

Long time lurker, perhaps a weird first post. But I actually tried to do what you considered and was told they couldn't build a PUP car without the ventilation/perforated seats when I ordered back in September. So I ended up same as you - opting out of PUP.
