I am getting the 12v Battery needs service message, and am weighing my options.
Which of the following have you tried and would recommend as a better option than just letting a Tesla ranger replace it:
1. Gruber Tesla Model S Battery ($138.50 plus $30-80 for shipping)
2. Ohmmu Lithium Battery...
I just returned from a 500+ miles drive. As usual, I made heavy use of AutoPilot (AP1). However, I noticed that the system often seems late to react to right bends on the freeway, and in quite some cased tends to drift over the left lane marker, if I don't take over. It doesn't seem to do this...
Thought this could be fun... the crazy stuff that service personnel sometimes say that is disconnected from reality.
1. I made an appointment to have my car aligned because I scraped a curb with the right front wheel, and it no longer tracked straight. Tesla Service (when I arrived): "Since you...
In recent months, my car developed paint issues in two areas of the hood. When it first started, I asked Tesla Service whether this is covered by warranty, and they said it is not. However, it has gotten worse since.
What could cause the paint to develop these grooves that almost look like...
This is new/changed behavior: After the car has been parked, the big center screen is on immediately, while the instrument panel is black. A few seconds later, I see the Tesla "T" logo on grey, before the panel shows.
It used to come-on immediately.
Why would this change? Is this a sign of...
Airbnb and HomeAway do not currently list EV chargers for the vacation rentals they list. I'm pretty sure Bookings.com doesn't, either. However, many people prefer vacation rentals over hotels, for a variety of reasons.
- There is currently no way for EV owners to search for vacation rentals...
As a Tesla owner who loves to travel AND a vacation rental owner with the only EV charger in the area, I notice that there is no easy way to find vacation rentals with chargers. So I contacted both Airbnb and HomeAway in May of 2019 and requested that they add a category of amenities for EV...

I thought I'd share my story (or should I call it an Odyssey?) to get a JuiceBox EV charger installed at my beach condo in San Diego. This is probably not a unique situation, and I hope others can learn from it.

The inner tail lights are mounted on the hatch with nuts. Those are covered by plastic caps. However, these caps keep disappearing on my car. Not sure where they go... Perhaps there is some sort of "nut cap fairy" that takes them, but I have never found any money in my trunk. ;)
Do you guys...
After seeing the videos from Sentry mode, I have been wondering, if an aftermarket solution could be developed for earlier models. Of course, I would not have the capability to do this myself, but it seems there are enough talented owners here.
Here is my thought:
1.. Many owners already have...
I could use some advice on how to best go about this... Last year, I bought a run-down codo in San Diego, 100ft from the beach. Had it gutted, rewired, and completely rebuilt from scratch to the latest standards. Now it is partially our own vacation spot, and partially vacation rental (managed...
When I drive my 2016 75D, I always hear a distant whine of the front motor. Not bad or annoying, but noticeable.
Yesterday I got a 2018 75D loaner while my car was in for service. I did not hear the front motor at all. No while, nothing.
Did Tesla change the front motor or sound dampening...
I recently purchased a used rear center console, which had the matching matte obeche wood, but not the matching grey leather. Took it to the local upholstery shop, and they tried to find a properly matching leather - without success.
So we decided to take a different route: They used SEM...
I'm in the market for a new set of 19" tires. Thinking of Pirelli or Michelin - whichever offer a more comfortable ride.
Tesla doesn't offer the Pirellis, so I'll have to shop around. But I dread going to non-Tesla places with this still perfect car. Specifically, I'm worried that they damage...
I was thinking of buying some jack pad support tools, in case I need the car lifted at a non-Tesla service location (e.g. after a tire blow-out). I'm finding two basic designs, each with slightly different materials or finishes.
Basically, there are
- Round ones with one post and a rubber...
I read that some Teslas were exported to countries where the car was not officially supported. I also heard that someone took a new Model 3 to Europe lately. This made me wonder, how much of a globe trotter one could be with a Tesla (any model, for that matter).
From what I understand, the...
i had trouble finding a good place for storing charge cards that are used infrequently, but making them easily accessible at the charging station.
Then I found this small storage net on eBay. It’s meant for small cell phones but ideal for any reasonably flat items.
I placed it on the driver...
I want to protect my Model S from the elements and make cleaning as easy as possible. The car is garaged all the time.
The place I bought it from offers Cilajet treatment, while most mentions here are about Ceramic Pro.
Can someone please explain the difference between these two treatments?
