For every Supercharger that takes too long to get started, we have urban ones like Downey (x2) that come out of nowhere and open quickly. It's a reasonable theory you have, but I also know we don't always see them coming.

My guess is that when Irvine Company is finished building the new parking garage on the southeast end of the Irvine Spectrum, we will see an SpC show up in the Irvine Spectrum farthest southeast parking area. Think: as close as you can get to the 405/5 Y interchange.

Supposedly it's the same crew working on both Thousand Oaks locations and the Calabasas location. Given that the second TO location at The Oaks has not yet opened, it seems to make sense that the Calabasas location will begin once The Oaks is completed.

Some Tesla owners do not own garages to charge at home. Some Tesla owners have to pay for Supercharging. The shot taken at local Tesla owners is a bit unfair.

I'm not complaining. I like when these surprise locations pop up and they're already under construction. This should help along the 5 relatively soon. I wonder what else we don't know about if these can move along so quietly.

I like the nearby amenities. Considering there's exactly 1 operational SpC in all of San Diego currently, I'll take any and all locations that can be permitted, started, and opened quickly.

Tesla changed "end of 2017" to "end of 2018" for every single Supercharger location that is not yet opened. All it really means is that they aren't going to start construction, finish installing, test, and open the Calabasas Supercharger before tomorrow. Which we knew already.

I've gotta say, looking at the map and seeing the San Diego area with 3 permits just got me going from six to midnight. Too bad one of them will likely not come to fruition. A guy can dream!

If you guys are expecting the utility company to have this thing turned on in a matter of two days right up against the holidays, you're going to be disappointed. Can't rush greatness! This location is going to be so convenient and wonderful when the utility finally gets there.

The SC list in my Tesla nav doesn't even show the old 6 stall location anymore. It's still there and I drove past it on my way to the new 20 stall location, so I suppose it would still be available in a pinch. The new Burbank spot is great!

What are you driving? If this isn't open in time (it probably won't be) you can just use Temecula. Not ideal, but your next Redlands trip should have a Lake Elsinore and Riverside option!
