Charging Port door closes immediately after opening

Add me to the list . I just stopped it from closing with my hand after it opened and l plugged it in. I;m sure I;ll pay for that tomorrow, but it's charging.

    Supercharger - Boone, NC

In summary of my post, I think (and agree that) there are better locations for this, but if this is our only shot at getting Tesla chargers in Boone, then I'm for it. However if they would actually consider putting them somewhere else and can do so, they REALLY,REALLY should! If you want to read...

    Supercharger Siler City, NC

Interesting that the pre-fab stalls don't have any pull-in forward spots. I wonder if this could be for the Charlotte/Western NC folks coming over to Jordan Lake via 64...

Does it matter which supercharger I use on my 2017 Model S?

FWIW, I have gotten a max of 184kW with my 2018 Model S 100D. If you have the 100kWh battery, the V3 chargers will go a bit higher than 150kW, but I'm not sure its worth extra effort to seek out V3 chargers specifically. The higher charge rate usually only lasts a few minutes, anyway.

    Supercharger Siler City, NC

Per Facebook, It looks like a new Supercharger is going in at 1605 E 11th St, Siler City, NC I can't take credit for the Photo, this is from Facebook and was taken by John Gotsch. If anyone else can find more information, feel free to add to this thread. Chatham County Inspections site is not...

Feedback regarding service at the Raleigh, NC Service Center in 2021

I have to concur with what has been said above. The Raleigh SC has always been great and I am very appreciative of the staff there. I have been frustrated sometimes with having to use the app and that being the only method of communication, but they have always responded quickly enough through...

Supercharger - Salem, VA - Apperson Drive

Any updates to this SC being re-opened anytime soon? I have to go up to Salem this week and am not thrilled at the prospect of charging at 72kW. I mean I will if I have to, but it would be nice if a nice new shinny new V3 charger opened on Monday.

    Costco Michelin Wiper Blades

I found that at highway speed with these blades the wipers jump/bounce when wiping. Just my observation. I will only get the Tesla wiper blades from now on. (Also, looked at getting them from Amazon, they are more expensive)

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - Northlake Centre Parkway

US-74 would be nice, but how about closer to Forest City? There are a couple of Data Centers there, so its a small hub for technology, which may grow a bit.

Do batteries contain a “buffer”? My kW usage doesn’t match pack size

I recently did this and came to the realization that the climate control (A/C) usage is not calculated in your energy usage in the trip screens. I figured for my MS, the A/C uses about 2kW of power, so for every hour I'm in the car on a trip, I have to calculate an additional 2kWh of battery for...

POLL: When will V10 be in wide release (Elon says hopefully August)

My guess is that V10 is a gateway for the "App Store" and for paying for enhanced Data services ("Premium Connectivity"), so there'll be a bit of motivation to get it out sooner than later. Is anyone paying for Premium Connectivity yet?

    Charging in Charlotte NC

I echo what TexasEV wrote, make sure you are using PlugShare. The app in invaluable for finding chargers. I also recommend the Chargepoint app and registering for a Chargepoint account in case you come across one of their chargers. They are usually free to use, but require a RFID card or the app...

    Improved supercharging time

Quick update: I had to supercharge today before I wanted to, with my SoC at 50%. I tried a different stall and temps made it up to 80F. At 50%, I peaked at 123kW, which I have never seen before. I have never seen it go over 118kW. I am hopeful that my previous attempt was either too cold or I...

    Improved supercharging time

I went to a supercharger Friday morning with the intention of seeing if there were charging time differences. I arrived with 35% SoC and had my limit set to 90%. Temps overnight never went below 60F, I believe it was above 60F when I arrived and had set the navigation to the supercharger...

Advice: MS 75D totaled, buy again or go M3P?

Something to consider is getting an inventory MS. Those cars can usually be delivered quickly and they usually take some mileage discounts. Not sure what is available right now, but talk to your local Sales office and they can tell you what's available and where.

@wk057 Thank you for your insights into NoA. I very much value your opinions and insights. Your past many years of experience has shown that you have put thought and effort into your findings. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your posts. Glad to see you back in the forum.

    Proposed Solution to Nag Issue

I'm sure I'm inviting a smack-down by everyone here, however, have we forgotten that we are driving around in an AI supercomputer that can "learn"? Why not reward the drivers that consistently respond to the first prompting of the "Place hands on wheel" by allowing more time between "nags" when...

Flashing HighBeam by accident when trying to start autopilot

That's okay, I think I have you all beat: I accidentally tried to put the car in Park while on AP going 70 mph. It was my first road trip with my, then, new Tesla and I was trying to change lanes to the left. AP and TACC both disengaged, but no other harm came from it. I would not suggest...

Tesla blames MCU resets on Tesla Waze Website.

Thanks @Shateam. That's exactly what I did; set it to google. I'll just have to wait and see if I get any more reboots. I am sad to hear about TeslaWaze going away. I was excited to see if it would work for me. I just hope Tesla gets their maps integrated with Waze and also gets the option to...

Tesla blames MCU resets on Tesla Waze Website.

Thanks for this post. I noticed my MCU reboots a lot more since I tested going to Tesla Waze site and didn't correlate the two. I wonder if it's still on the browser in the background. I'll check when I go to lunch. Is it enough to just navigate away from the site or would I need to clear the...

Am I screwed for going 75D rather than 100D?

I have a MS75D and I wish I would have gotten the 90D (largest battery at the time), but I'm content with the one I've got for now, until I can get the 100D. If you can change it at this point and afford it, do it, you will not regret it.

There has to be an official "Commissioning" after the meter is installed by a Tesla engineer, then it will be functional and then show up on the map. Bee Hive Vandalism

Since we have had a couple of threads in the "Energy, Environment, and Policy" forum about beef and eating less of it, I thought it wouldn't be too far fetched to write about a local beekeeper in my area that was intentionally vandalized this week. Bees are so vitally important to our food...

Lost fuel excise (tax) revenue, so they find another way

In North Carolina, our "EV" fee was increased to $130/yr. Unlike the Personal Property tax, this is a fee, so it's not deductible from fed/state tax at the end of the year. As Knightowl and others have said, its justified by the fact that we don't pay the "Highway use" Tax at the fuel pump. I...

New Superchargers Proposed in Greensboro and Raleigh, NC

I had a similar experience on Saturday after coming back from the Warsaw SC. I think the signs will go a long way to deter ICEing. We really can't/shouldn't say anything until the signage goes up, but once it does, I plan to post the North Hills security office phone number, as they will help...

    Supercharger - Warsaw, NC (closed)

I successfully charged at Warsaw on Saturday (11/18). Interesting thing happened while I was charging: three times it just stopped charging, then restarted by itself. Not sure what was going on. I hope Tesla gets this fixed or moved to a new location soon.

New Superchargers Proposed in Greensboro and Raleigh, NC

So I heard that it is going to open VERY soon.
