    285/30 R21 on staggered 9.0" Turbines?

Nice rear view. The sidewall looks rather tall, are those 295/35-20? Upon further inspection, 285/30-21 should definitely work on stock rear turbines. However, as the stock 265s are already quite close to the inner wheel lining I may have to do some slight molding to be on the safe side.

    285/30 R21 on staggered 9.0" Turbines?

Not quite. The cars are not set up specifically for staggered wheels (not including the old + suspensions). It simply is not needed. This is also the reason why Model S throughout the years have been delivered with and without staggered wheels. Like the 2015 P85Ds. Even in the exact same...

    285/30 R21 on staggered 9.0" Turbines?

Thanks for the insight. I actually much prefer 285/30s because the diameter/sidewall/RevsPerMile matches that of the front 245/35s 99.5%, contrary to the 265/35s. Glad it's working out for you, but I already think the sidewall is a little too tall on the 265/35s (compared to the 245/35s), so...

    285/30 R21 on staggered 9.0" Turbines?

I have an 85D with the OEM staggered Turbines. So 245/35 front and 265/35 rear. Runs great, but I'd like a wider stance in the rear. I know 285 is not recommended for a 9.0" rim, but wondering if anyone has done it? I don't care about range or cornering dynamics TBH. I just want a wider tire in...

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

They used chassis ears. But as I see it that is not the point. Judging from my case and that of many others, Tesla doesn't seem to have issues locating the noise. What they clearly have issues with, is finding a solution to the noise. Based on what I have read thus far, this seems to be apparent...

Rattle noise coming from front Air Suspension (2017-18)

So I have just read through the last 15 pages or so and it seems many think this rattling/knocking sound only applies to facelifted cars starting from 2016. I can however confirm that my Dec 2015 Model S 85D with air suspension and 21" Turbines have the exact same issue. I (and the SC) had kind...

DIY guide for cleaning/servicing parking brake?

That is exactly the point. Because the brakes are used much less, they require even more attention. To be in the best condition, brakes need to be exercised frequently. And the bigger the brake system like the 4-piston Brembos on a Model S/X, the more exercise is needed. This goes for all cars...

DIY guide for cleaning/servicing parking brake?

Yes, I've done that a few times before. Lower speeds are fine too.

DIY guide for cleaning/servicing parking brake?

Makes sense. I didn't have any issues with seizing either before the widespread fault arose. This was over 2 years after I got the car and there had been no parking brake issues before then.

DIY guide for cleaning/servicing parking brake?

Yes, they definitely need regular maintenance to avoid potential surprises later on. All conventional brakes do. Especially in cold and humid climates. Coupled with regen and little use of the brakes, it is even more important on Teslas/EVs. Those who might think otherwise, 100% do not live in...

DIY guide for cleaning/servicing parking brake?

Thanks. Yes I was thinking about lubing the pins and pads. Can't quite figure out how prone they are to seizing. I'm not familiar with this type of design. With the normal brakes, I know how important it can be to clean and lube, but not sure about the parking brake. Just got a little concerned...

DIY guide for cleaning/servicing parking brake?

I own a 85D with the old 4-piston Brembo rear calipers and stand-alone parking brake. Once or twice a year, I clean and lubricate my brakes as preventative maintenance. I would also like to do this with the parking brakes, but before doing so, I would appreciate some guidance. Does anyone have...

What wheel setup would you prefer for your MS?

Disagree with B) Staggered encourages understeer. Quite the contrary. Not on the TMS. With staggered Turbines with 245/35-21 front and 265/35-21 rear, the car handles better and with less understeer than any other Model S, on both single motor or dual motor versions. I used to drive squared...
