    Powerwall in New England ?

I'm in Weston, and no, that's just PowerWalls connected to my solar array and working as a back-up for my house. No additional programs. I believe the information you were given is correct. Tesla is part of the similar program with National Grid, but not with EverSource. Although I never...

    Powerwall in New England ?

I was trying to increase my solar array at the same time as I was installing Powerwalls, but was told that I can't, since it would be over the cap that EverSource have. To be honest, it really sounds that EverSource just does whatever they want for every separate installation, and there's no set...

    Powerwall in New England ?

I've had 2 Powerwalls installed for over a year now and I'm using EverSource. So EverSource does approve them, it just takes forever. It took me about 1.5 years to get the approval for my installation. The only problem is that EverSource counts Powerwall toward the cap for renewable energy, so...

    AP1/MCU1 and Software V10

Looks like v10 started rolling out to AP1 cars earlier today. Got it about an hour ago, already installed and working. All video stuff is missing for AP1 cars, but Spotify is there.

Get some Sense... [sense monitoring solution]

Mine recognized Tesla at some point, but never tracked it properly, and lost it since then. I know that for some people it works well, but for me, it fails to identify mostly anything I would care about (mini-splits, appliances, etc.). All it recognized are some random things like water heater...

North Americans: Would you pay for Spotify? VOTE!

For Model S - in 4 years after purchase. For Model 3 - 2 years. At least that's what I've been told by support, when I called about Slacker not being able to connect in my Model S after 2 year mark. They said that it was some sort of mistake and renewed my account for another 2 years. The other...

    Powerwall in New England ?

Any news on when Eversource might join this program? Right now it seems to be only for National Grid customers.
  10. I

    Powerwall in New England ?

I think in that case it would be the same hardware setup, but management would be through software. Right now there's only 3 options in the software. Backup-only (powerwall will only be used when the power goes out). Self-powered with reserve (use powerwall to offset usage up to reserve value)...

    Powerwall in New England ?

Powerwall is usually installed between the meter and your main panel (if you are backing up the whole house). If you will be backing up partial breakers, they usually install subpanel and move backed up breakers to it from the main panel. No new breakers in the main panel are required (as far as...

    Powerwall in New England ?

It only took a year and a half, restarting the project completely from the scratch, escalation to upper management and a whole lot of back and forth, but I finally got my powerwalls installed and connected! I had to drop secondary solar system, because Eversourse would just not budge... So now I...

    Mass MOR-EV rebate

I got a check for my Model S within 90 days. For Model 3 I was up to 100 days and sent them an email, they responded right away and said the check was coming in a week. It was here in 4 days. They seem to be very responsive to emails.

    Powerwall in New England ?

To the best of my understanding, Powerwalls don't back up breaker by breaker. They back up incoming power line to the house. As in - they sit before the breaker panel. Each powerwall can backup up to 30 amps. So if you get 1 powerwall it will not be able to back up your electric dryer (which...

    Powerwall in New England ?

This is what's bothering the most about this whole experience. Nobody seems to know anything. Information just goes missing without any traces. What's even worse, it seems like people I spoke with invent things just to keep me content, but then when I talk to the next person, they have no idea...

    Powerwall in New England ?

@jeffsutherland Try calling Tesla again, it does look like Eversource lifted that restriction few weeks ago. At the very list, I know for sure that my neighbor got 2 Powerwalls installed just a few weeks ago.
  17. I

    Powerwall in New England ?

Powerwalls by themselves don't produce energy, they just store it. So you might be able to output more energy to the grid in the short period of time, but total amount of energy output stays unchanged. And even that isn't going to happen, since Powerwalls don't usually dump energy into the grid...

    Powerwall in New England ?

@yousexy As far as I understand it, DPU ruling is going to affect Powerwall installations, not the net metering limit for the system, right? In that case, based on what I've heard from Tesla and the fact that my neighbor did get powerwalls installed, it looks like Eversource already lifted the...

    Powerwall in New England ?

When I looked at his documents, the system size was listed in kWh DC, it was somewhere around 11.6, which translates to 10kWh AC, which is the cap that Eversource have (at least based on what Tesla told me). In regards to the second system, I was told that Tesla will not do second system at all...

Yes, he got all of the panels and 2 power walls installed. Took them 3 days to do his installation, but it's all set now (just waiting to be turned on). I also got a call from scheduling team a day or two later, saying that my second system + 2 powerwall has been approved and they can schedule...

    Powerwall in New England ?

Couple of updates. My neighbor, after talking to me, called Tesla to install powerwalls and panels on his house in September. His installation is scheduled for tomorrow with 2 powerwalls and 11kWh worth of panels. He did sign net metering agreement. And this is with Eversource. I still will not...

    Woot! 1st Referral...Now What?

Same boat as everyone. My friends ordered Model X in March and took delivery in May. Never got an email, but noticed that I can select HPWC in the app a month later. Rear seat belt warning with car seats?

I know when it happened with my Model 3, I was presented with an option to disable the warning because there's a child seat installed (icon that looks like child seat). When it happens in my Model S, I never seen that icon. It's possible that this option doesn't exist in Model S for some reason.

    No Tesla’s in Boston?

I think somebody mentioned somewhere else that as the money run out they request more funding and last information was that there was another set of funding on the way. That's not surprising at all. Even on the map in MOR-EV you can see that Weston has by far the largest amount of Teslas...

    Powerwall in New England ?

Had another conversation with Tesla. 21kWh limit is apparently only for National Grid. Eversource currently approves installations of Powerwall (without lose of Net metering) only for systems under 15kWh. I have no idea where they took this 15kWh figure. Mass ACA is supposed to allow 21, not 15...

    Supercharger - Dedham, MA

I was trying to schedule an appointment online today, and Dedham doesn't even show up as an option for me. Powerwall in New England ?

One bit of information that I got from Tesla, is that, apparently, Eversource will approve Powerwall installation even if you have net metering if your total system size is under 22kWh (I think they said 22, but might've been 21). Which sort of makes sense, since 21 or 22 is the limit for Mass...

    Supercharger - Dedham, MA

Dedham supercharger is shown as either reduce service on the maps, or completely unavailable (depending on where you look). I spoke with the service manager a week ago and asked him about it. Feedback on a US Spotify UI (that works!)

A bit of feedback: Overall it works very wall. UI seems to be snappy and responsive. Couple of things to improve on: When selecting a song that's part of the album, it currently only plays the selected song, but stops right after that. It would be nice if it would continue to play the album...

SMS & Email on Tesla Screen - beta

Did you find some hidden APIs? Cause Tesla disabled anything related to video/audio input and output in their browser. So things like "Apple Face Time/Video Calling" and "and reply using voice/speech" are not even remotely possible. Unless, again, you found some hidden APIs.

Where to see a real live Model 3 in Massachusetts

It is P3D. Just picked up my car from the service, and asked them. They have 2 red P3D out for test drives, and one blue rare wheel drive cars.

Where to see a real live Model 3 in Massachusetts

Actually, I might be wrong. I saw blue one from afar and red one up close. I assumed red one was P3D, because of white interior and red calipers, but it's possible that it wasn't a P3D, but just a test drive model that they spruced up. I didn't see underlying dual motor sign at the back of them.

Was just in Dedham Service Center. They have 1 Model 3 on display (regular rear-wheel drive), and 2 P3Ds (red and blue) for test drives, seen them giving a test drive to somebody while I was dropping off my car.

    Powerwall in New England ?

I had TOU as a pilot program from NStar about 5 years ago. I ended up canceling it, since my bill was quite a bit higher then on a normal payment plan. So not looking forward to TOU at all, but I get a feeling that I will not have any say in that.

    Powerwall in New England ?

No, that's why I said "something like". That's what I recall from my conversation with SolarCity when I was applying for net metering agreement 2 years ago. If I remember it correctly, if your solar array overproduce energy in one month, Eversource doesn't just send you money back, they will...

    Powerwall in New England ?

What surprises me is that batteries do not generate energy, so why would Eversource care if I have the battery in my house. Unless I'm on time-of-use plan, and storing energy during off time and selling it back at peak times (which still wouldn't make a difference because net metering is buying...

Tesla tech is great, but other companies are starting to push

I miss that feature too from my Q50, but to be honest, camera resolution on Infinities was so bad, that feature was mostly useless, since you couldn't really tell where the line/curb was.

Any Model S & 3 owners who still prefer their Model S...or vice versa?

Lack of center screen is a problem for about 20 minutes. After that you get used to it and don't even notice it. I switch between S and 3 all the time, the only problem that I have is when I switch to S after having driven 3 for a little while, I look at the center screen to see my speed for the...

Any Model S & 3 owners who still prefer their Model S...or vice versa?

I wouldn't say Model 3 seats are not comfortable. I just can't seem to find the right position for them. Something always feels off. But I've driven Model 3 from Boston to Hartford and back, and the seats are almost as comfortable as they are in Model S.

Any Model S & 3 owners who still prefer their Model S...or vice versa?

I'm not replacing my S with 3, but I got 3 for my wife. I drive both regularly, and my preferences change depending on the day. S is more luxurious and spacious, it also has higher acceleration rate. Two screens also helps, and I prefer S interfaces to that of a 3. But 3 is a lot more nimble and...

    Dedham showroom move

Sales associates didn't mention the timeline, but it sounded like it's a done deal, just a matter of maybe building up a new showroom and facilities. Slacker resume on entrance inconsistancy

That would explain it. No I do not have premium audio. But both the loaner and Model 3 do. Why would purely software feature require premium audio? That doesn't make any sense. Especially considering that it used to work like that when I bought my Model S, and only stopped after an OTA update.
