I did exactly the same recently with my 2016 Model S. I too believe I got more money with the FUSC left with the car I sold than any benefit keeping it for my new car was worth. It’s hard to measure accurately, but I’m good with my decision.

Have you tried rebooting the instrument cluster ( not the MCU ) if I recall correctly you need to press both the top left and right buttons above the scroll wheels, and hold until the instrument cluster goes blank That has cleared problems for me before

Re: SGIP. I was fortunate to be in a fire zone and was able to get a backup battery pretty much for free. SCE required me to either pick 5-8 or Prime. No other TOU plans qualify is what I was told. We had a medical baseline, but can’t use that with Prime
