    Software Update 2018.46.x

I'm on 42.2 and seat / steering wheel heaters turn on when turning on climate control from app - although it seems as though the car temp needs to be below 60 degrees.

    Software update 2018.6.1

I've also had the "purple screen" on my backup camera a couple of times since going to 18.6.1. It's always been on the first drive of the morning too. It was always cold mornings (30s) for me and I thought it was temperature related - but apparently not so based on your findings.

Does steering while on Autosteer do anything?

I guess I'm experiencing what @chillaban and @kavyboy mentioned. There seems to be a confidence factor. If I'm on a wide road, AP2 gives me a little wiggle room within the lane to nudge the car one way or another but won't move an inch on narrow roads, or when approaching the lines on a wide...

Some exciting observations about the new Model S60 (software limited 75 kWh)

Yes, something doesn't sound right with the calculations. I have my MS60D since early December 2016. I had 221 range @100% when new 4 months and 4,000 miles now Charge nightly on HPWC to 90% (only used supercharger twice) My lifetime efficiency is 335 wh/mi Charged last night to 100% and still...

Does steering while on Autosteer do anything?

Sorry if this has been previously discussed but I can't find anything. While driving with Autosteer engaged (HW2/AP2) I find myself 'nudging' the steering wheel in an attempt to keep the car centered in the lane when it drifts. At times I feel like it actually helps and I times I think that it...

    Firmware 8.0

My post wasn't directed at anyone in specific. I just wanted to point out the usefulness of the 'Ignore' function. I've found it helps keep my blood pressure lower. I definitely wasn't referring to @Tangible - he's obviously not on my list since I read his post. :D
  8. jldf310

    Firmware 8.0

@HumanGenome the "Ignore" function works well too. I've added many of the regular whiners and complainers to my list. ;)
  9. jldf310

    Firmware 8.0

EM has said high speed autosteer is a priority over 8.1 release. If 8.1 is due out next week then that means possible AP2 update this weekend?? One could hope anyway. . .

How else to interpret 2016 CA autonomous driving results?

It appears Google has good test lab results, maybe you should go buy one. Oh, wait . . .:D
  13. jldf310

How else to interpret 2016 CA autonomous driving results?

I have to disagree on this one. I don't think OP is stating that Tesla is operating on secret difficult roads - I think it's been documented that Google has been operating in a fairly controlled environment. The suburban roads of Mountain View that Google has mainly operated on are much...

How else to interpret 2016 CA autonomous driving results?

I saw a good writeup here: The Numbers Don’t Lie: Self-Driving Cars Are Getting Good, Fast I'm not defending Tesla (I love the "it seems the messiah has left the building" comment) - but the article does point out that the results aren't an "apples to apples" comparison and lists some reasons...

Autopilot for HW2 rolling out to all HW2 cars today!

Thanks @TslaDoc, I think that explains the "Drivers assistance features unavailable" messages that many are receiving when starting their trip. I haven't seen many folks claiming that it cut out mid-drive like you have experienced however. Hopefully the firmware update will fix it for you...

HW2: It's been a week. How many miles do you have on autosteer?

@muleferg, pic shows you're only going 17mph - TACC only works above 18mph (or with a car in front). I'm not saying you're not having a problem - but you might want your proof to show that you're going at least 18mph.

Autopilot for HW2 rolling out to all HW2 cars today!

Yes, I've had it and have seen others mention experiencing it. I was able to hop off the freeway, put the car in park while waiting at the exit ramp light, and jump right back on the freeway and everything worked properly. I saw somewhere that 'park' should reset it. I'm hoping it's one of...

My charge rate (MPH) at 40A and 238V

Why not? They are the same price as a spare UMC cord. Also, technically it does let you charge faster than a UMC - 48a vs 40a.
  20. jldf310

    Firmware 8.0

I would think you should be receiving an update soon. Since you're still in "shadow" mode (2.52.120) and EM has stated ALL HW2 cars where getting the update, then I would expect something soon. As others have stated there's no guarantees that you'll receive any specific update but, you should...

    Firmware 8.0

I did have only the black road lines and not the gray. But, I'm almost sure that when I successfully engaged it yesterday it also only had black lines. And the steering wheel never appeared yesterday too. It just kicked it when I double tapped the lever.

    Firmware 8.0

To be clear, I was referring to HW2 - and added to my signature line (good suggestion).
  23. jldf310

    Firmware 8.0

I got 17.3.2 yesterday. Installed and took it for a quick drive. It was a clear bright day, TACC worked great and even had the chance to do 45mph on the highway and kick in Autosteer. While it was only for a minute or so, it worked great too. Later last night and this morning I had the...

    How Tesla Charges Idle Fees?

Agree with you there. . . But I do think SOMETHING needed to be done with excessive idling.
  36. jldf310

    How Tesla Charges Idle Fees?

@green1 - charging and parking are two very different (legally distinct) things. You were never promised a 24/7/365 parking spot. Do you think that Tesla shouldn't have addressed the idling issue - or just think that they should've gone about it differently?

I received notice that my production was complete on December 2nd and that it would arrive in NJ Dec 10-17. I got the email today that my delivery date is Dec 13th (woo-hoo, can't wait). So, it doesn't take 2 whole weeks to ship to the NE. Mine was closer to 10 days.

I want the peace of mind to have the UMC with the car all the time - and don't want to bother putting in / taking out daily. If you're like me then I would definitely suggest the Wall Charger for three reasons. 1 - They're the same price 2 - The wall charger gives you the flexibility. If you...
