Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sounds like your stock portfolio is down. I get it. Rent a Tesla from Hertz until your CT is ready.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I get your point. Most of us signed up for Steve Jobs (aka Elon), not Tim Cook. Tim Cook is a great manager, but the only real thing he has done - product wise - is put out the I-phone 10, 11, 12.... Several years from now, we may get Tesla's version of Tim Cook, but (despite the current...

Just selling cars is too boring. We all picked the wrong quarter to stop sniffing glue. :D

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Keep in mind the average auto loan in Feb. 2023 for new cars was around 7.48%. It is now about 9.68%. Certainly has an effect on sales.

You provide thoughtful, well-reasoned posts. I am more of the short and perhaps thought-less type. I believe in Tesla/Tsla and have the fortune of having been an investor for 10+ years. I have made a nice profit as a result of my Tsla investments over the years. If I had initially invested...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Keeping in mind your need to prove someone wrong on the internet based on your avatar, what is your take on Tsla? Why are you here on this thread? Do you still believe in Tsla as an investment?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Got your point. How are the other EV stocks doing comparatively? Tesla is the clear cut leader. Also, Tesla is not limited to selling cars as other companies are. Cars are also particularly sensitive to interest rate hikes. Perhaps astute analysis could have predicted the rapid increase in...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Eh, not buying it. I am not happy with the current SP and I would probably be pissed if I bought recently, but the facts have not changed. Sentiment for the stock has changed. Not only for Tsla, but all EV stocks. Tesla, the company, continues to thrive. The current SP, not so much.

Nice looking wife. Any other photos you can send us?

I think opinions change more when the SP changes, not facts.

I guess someone changed their tune on TSLA.

Perfect timing, of course. Wish we could all trade like you.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You don't like TSLA. We get it. Yet, you love to come to this site and bash the stock and praise other stocks. Thankfully, I had faith in TSLA an am currently paying for my 2 daughters' college education with TSLA stock gains.

Boy, I wish NVDA tanked so we could all feel better about the economy and stock market.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Ever heard of a President's Day sale? This is Tesla's version. Sales of cars and other items are slow this time of year.

Wall Street loves layoffs. Stock should rocket if they go through.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The restaurants I go to seem busy, especially for this time of year. IMO, the economy seems pretty good all things considered.
  18. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

TSLA has sucked lately, but many EV stocks have sucked of late as well. Rivian, for example, is down 4.78% right now. I think the lack of proposed interest rate cuts is weighing heavily on the industry among other things.
  19. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Of course, Reuters is always quick to report the "news." Whenever I see a bad Tesla headline, it seems like 9 out of 10 times it is first reported by Reuters. Cue the famous Jim Cramer clip...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That's right. Goog currently down 5.6%. Tsla caught up in that in addition to court ruling.

I like to hear different perspectives.
  22. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

"Slowly dying" and "Titanic" seem a little dramatic. Are you playing the angles as an investor (as you are entitled to do) or playing the long game and holding strong? A lot of pessimism lately. I get it. The SP has disappointed of late, but in relative terms, Tesla is by far the strongest...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yea, I thought about jumping into NVDA (but not selling TSLA). SP keeps going up and up which is annoying in comparison (but good, of course for NVDA shareholders). Reminds me of the gold old days. ;)
  24. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

All EVs and autos in general are getting crushed. Rivian is down almost 6% today and Ford is down similar to Tsla.
  25. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I saw a funny bumper sticker the other day on an older minivan that said: "I identify as a Tesla." :)
  26. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The whole market is down today and TSLA fared well yesterday in a down market, so I wouldn't read too much into it.

You can always tell the bitter people who sold near the bottom. Move on, bud.

Bunch of whiners out there. I am super pumped. Amazing, one of a kind vehicle!

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Problem is, this is nothing new with Elon's behavior as a CEO and in particular on conference calls. I get it, the stock has been flat for the past year, yet cash keeps piling up in the Billions - with B. Can he be overly ambitious with flying wings (perhaps unnecessary) and Mad Max trucks -...

Must be nice to be right about so much. I wish I was so prescient. Got any NFL picks this week?

Wow. Pretty dramatic take. From a distance, you seem more rational than that.
  34. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Surprise, surprise you are negative on the stock. Daddy needs to find a new hobby.
  35. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Very true. We have seen this many times before. My short term greed sometimes gets in the way of appreciating a realistic, once in a generation CEO who speaks from truth rather than trying to satisfy short term quarter by quarter thinking.

Did Apple's CFO resign as well? Their stock is down more than 2% today. :D

Michael Burry was indicating that this is an Enron type of scandal (through a tweet which he later deleted). He should just shut his mouth and go away.

What would Charlie Munger say? Maybe he should dust off his books and switch to Tesla.

Just watched Starlink satellites in the sky (MA). Incredible!! So amazing. Elon (despite any flaws) is unbelievable - bringing wonder, awe and childlike curiosity once thought lost in adults.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

A good friend of mine just purchased a Model Y due to the price reduction. Demand will be bonkers!
  45. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think US price cuts are inevitable. Increased interest rates are taking a bite out of auto sales in general as well as housing.
  46. T

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Pretty much how I feel as well. Was mentally preparing myself to hit the sell key for a portion of my Tsla portfolio on Friday. The color green at the end of the day never looked so beautiful!

    - 6% is not too bad? I guess not as bad as - 12% from earlier this week. :D
