I'm picking it up at 4pm, so it might be similar. I'm leasing, so as long as there isn't a major blemish, like a dead rat stuck to the hood and painted over, I won't care that much. Otherwise, what would I do then? Not take delivery or does Tesla hire a local body shop to fix it somehow?

On a sunday?! My DS hasn't said anything yet. Figured they only worked mon-fri, so I'd confirm monday for a tuesday appointment. Is there a secret to getting it quicker? If so I'd love to know.

Tesla Complete email received tonight at 6pm. Delivery window is 17th to the 31st. Though since its from the factory, I hope that will happen very quickly.

DS and Dashboard updated car to be in production yesterday. Hivemind google spreadsheet says its 5 days from production to delivery on average in CA, so hopefully next week. Factory pickup hopefully shaves off a day or two.

Minor update, Tesla DS called today, they have an expected date for my car near Dec 20th. I have to redo my lease application as it's only good for 30 days, other than that, no problems.

Tesla asked about my travel plans in case there is a conflict with delivery (I told 'em I have none), and VW sent me the final offer for buyback on Saturday. Woo! With any luck, both cars will trade places in the garage around the same time in December.

No. I researched this, and my OA even brought it up. The dest/doc fee is $1200 no matter what, as some deliveries are a little more expensive, and some less. A referral code just about erases this, so I recommend you grab one of the many available (and before the referral bonus goes away)

Ok, I took your advice and went for factory delivery. I also hit the 'confirm' button early as I'm sure of my choices. I received my VIN last night. I thought I had to wait 7 days, no matter what, which seemed odd. Nice to shave off a few days!.

I gave Tesla my deposit today. So I'm having to make final decisions, like pickup location and date. Is it worth getting it from the factory? My other option is Palo Alto, which is much closer.

I didn't go to the dealer first. I took the rental/drive first of my own volition. Even being 'undealers', I didn't expect anything like a 24 hour test, nor have I heard about that. Oh well, I wanted to try out Turo.com as well, so it still worked out.
