Just spoke to the installers at the superchargers. They said weeks yet before bc hydro turns the power on. They won’t take much longer.

    Supercharger - Cache Creek, BC

I went by the Williams Lake chargers yesterday. Tesla is getting quick at installing them. I think it is BC Hydro who is dragging their feet with turning them on. 4 years living up north with my 100D X and it feels like with these ones I’m not isolated anymore!

    Supercharger - Abbotsford, BC

Still hasn’t had anything happen. Went by today and the power cabinets are still unopened.

Outside Cold Wx (10* F) Charging Strategy

My X has never been in a garage. And I live in Northern Canada. -30 here and I just cabin heat for 5 min before leaving for work as well as starting to charge.

    Supercharging rates go WAY up!

we pay 8cents/kwH in BC. Hydro. So 6 cents USD. The more I drive the more I save. If I put my car in a garage it would cost a lot in payments. Right now my X is ultimately free since I pay more in gas per month than my payments for the X are. And I charge either at the office or at Superchargers...

Disappointing range on new Tesla 3

Give it 6 months and you will get familiar with how it works and how the stated range works in estimating things. It will vary based on elevation, temperature, speed etc and most of us keep it on battery percentage anyway. It is just about as accurate as the same function on my Toyota Tundra...

Tesla Filing: SEC Issued Subpoena Over Model 3 Production

The SEC can win a case like this and here is why: 1) Stock Fluctuates 2) they will find an up or down at the time they want to prove that correlation equaled causation 3) they are short TSLA

Condo ChargePoint charging costs are the same as ICE gas cost

You find is just as expensive. And you hardly drive and use the most expensive charging options. I, on the other hand, find incredible savings. I drive 1000miles a week. I supercharge when away from home, and gas is expensive in Canada. Therefore, I save on gas $ each month what I pay in...

Arggh, another surprise price increase (red paint up another $500)

This is a lot of complaining about Tesla gouging $3000 out of people. Seems to me that you all forgot that just a couple weeks ago they lowered the price of my Dad's S by that much AFTER he ordered it since he had ordered PUP and they retroactively gave him money back. If they were going for...

    Free Autopilot Trial?

Yes. Summon worked for me during this trial. Got to use it on a road trip from Whistler to Banff and back. I'm a horrible driver I found out!

    Supercharger - Whistler BC

I just stayed there and there was no Tesla store in the Fairmont. There are 6 public and 4 valet Destination Chargers, 10 HPWC's, and ~2 clipper creek chargers.

    Supercharger - Whistler BC

If you are just there to charge just drop the car off with a valet or drive back out and let them know. They will take your car to one of their four valet destination chargers. They won't leave you hanging. They can't do much about the ICEing, and sometimes they ice the spots - but, there are 12...

Chevy Bolt makes successful 2,000 mile trip in 16 days. I can do it in 4 with a Model 3.

I just drove 700 to Banff, AB this friday, then 700 back home Saturday in my Tesla. Exact same time as it takes me in my ICE.

Huh, Bolivian war is where lithium batteries come from? I just spend last month in Bolivia. Pretty sure this guy was wrong about that.

Do you "miss" the Energy Graph?

the only think I want to see from the small energy graph is the limited regen triangle warning light. or know when or how much regen i have. but then again, i can just feel it when i let up off the gas.

    What does your configuration cost?

This is the dumbest thing I keep hearing. Configure any car, there is never simply one price. We know the economics and plan Tesla is following to be able to produce and sell the 3 for that price. Showing impatience by childishly repeating this drivel is old and was just as ignorant before I...

How does the Performance version have the same 310 range?

Yes, and doing so in 3 seconds means that you have also done it in 50 feet. Doing so in 3 minutes means you spent the same amount of energy over 5 miles. Which one equals better 'gas mileage'?

Model 3 vs Model S differences as of June 2018

What I enjoy the most about my X is the lack of things that I never found annoying until they were gone. Now I hate driving my truck since I have to use the key fob for entry and key for ignition and have to open/close doors, etc. I love just walking into the car and driving away. I am excited...

    Model X vs Model 3

We had the same dilemma. Live 5.5 hrs north of Vancouver, near Williams Lake. We got the X100D because we road trip a lot, about 5000km a month and with free supercharging it saves us about $1500 in gas a month compared to our Tundra which we used to take everyone and everything in on our...

Amazing Car, Amazing Delivery, Amazing Experience

15,000km in 2 months. Stopped in at the service centre a month ago to say hi. Have had nothing but good driving so far! I didn't want a delivery experience - I wanted a good online shopping experience for a car that will just drive. And that's exactly what I got. Very happy with my inventory X.

    Panel mismatch

I found a lot of issues with my X when I picked it up. Most of them have worked themselves out. FWD's didn't line up. Now, 10,000km later, they have settled into place. FWD's wouldn't close, they kept sensing an obstacle. Now they have calibrated themselves better and work perfectly. But we love...

When I first moved to San Bernardino I didn't know there were even mountains around there until the Santa Ana's came in the next year. That wasn't even 20 years ago.

    Decided to cancel

This is short sighted. The environment IS so critical. Which is why Tesla is taking a long-term view of BOTH transitioning transportation and STAYING ALIVE, i.e. not going bankrupt in the process. They have everybody and their oil baron out trying to sue them and kill their business...

    Will Tesla disable my supercharging?

Maybe south of the border you live in an era like that. In BC people aren’t as litigious - they take personal responsibility more seriously. Sorry if I overestimated the situation. I only lived there for ten years and it’s easy to revert to normal life/thinking again.
  38. V

    Will Tesla disable my supercharging?

Compare these two scenarios: 1. do something stupid and unrealistic with gas 2. do something stupid and unrealistic with electricity Which makes you seem out of touch with reality? An intelligent person knows how each one works, knows how gravity works, and knows how other physical things...

Latest Edmunds long term Model 3 update: not good

I find it amusing that you can get a long-term review already on a 2016 or 2017 or even 2018 vehicle. Those years can only produce short-term reviews. Or current reviews?

    Supercharger locations - why back-in?

Military gets their guys into the habit of backing in. You won’t be parking while under fire, may be getting out of dodge while pulling away from a location. I would love to park ICE in while charging with superchargers out in the opposite side of the stall. I couldn’t get towed. The plug is...

Travel Times on MS cars vs ICE cars

The last couple months we have unfortunately had to do road trips with two cars, an ICE and our X side-by-side. 5hrs to Squamish, then 5 to Kelowna, and then 4 back home. We have managed to charge when eating and shopping, but still had to stop and wait to gas up the ICE. We keep an ICE since we...

Windshield backordered.. any ideas how long?

In BC I replace my windshield every year. No matter what car. Our insurance works that way, we pay $200 and they allow us a new one each spring. This year the multiple cracks from rock chips made an entire circle to frame the front. First year it did that. No problem if I can't get it right...

Should Model 3 been a SUV?

What will happen is that the crossover- based on the M3 skateboard - will roll down the same assembly line with the same parts but with a higher price/profit. They say it will not, but I'm sure it will transition to that as people would rather have the chevy bolt style upright seating and trunk...
