    VIN Assignment

I configured white/Aeros on 1/27 and just received a VIN (74XX) yesterday, so maybe you’ll get yours within the week?
  2. lkuntz

    No recent VIN assignments?

Got mine today too. Configured same day and same specs as you, though located in CA. VIN is 74XX. No call from ISA yet.
  3. lkuntz

    No recent VIN assignments?

Yes, I configured 1/27 and am still waiting for a VIN. White w/Aeros.
  4. lkuntz

    No recent VIN assignments?

I configured 1/27/18, also white w/aeros. No VIN yet. Looks like we’re all in the same boat.

How do you know what Supercharging speed you will get w/o plugging in?

This is what I want. It is super frustrating to go to a Supercharger for the first time and have to figure out which stalls are paired and what the orientation is for each stall. It's especially hard when cars are there, so you can't see the stall numbers on the bottom. Or situations where...

    Three chimes when exiting?

Make sure the car is actually going into park before you open the door. I had an issue where that control module failed and it had chimed when I exited the car because it was still in gear.

Is there a Tesla Wave or hand sign?

I haven't gotten any waves, although I see other Teslas fairly frequently. It seems to be in clumps, which is interesting. Some days, none at all, other days, I'll see 4 or 5. Often, I'm behind them or not in a good position to wave. I do find it funny that when I'm walking somewhere and see...

    Model S saved my life

I'm curious. Did someone from Electrek contact you before they wrote the article or did they just lift your posts from TMC without direct permission? I live nearby and almost never drive on that part of Grizzly Peak because I find it nerve wracking. I'm so glad you and your passenger are okay.

After 6 only months, my son's Model S needs lots of work

There are a variety of different models on Amazon, but for considerably more than 130 cents!

    TMC Connect

Does anyone have experience with the TMC conference? It will be within easy striking distance of me in June, but there isn't much information on the website yet about what sorts of speakers and events there will be on the Saturday. I'm curious what it has been like in past years.

Exit Car, Single Beep, Close Door, Doesn't Shut Down

Are you sure that the car actually goes into Park when you push the button? I had an issue where the button didn't work, but opening the door put the car into Park. The car beeped when I got out and it wouldn't shut down. It turned out I had to have the steering column computer module replaced.

My Tesla shows car in production. No email received. Timing for delivery?

I never received any production emails, but did receive my car, so what your DS told you isn't necessarily accurate.

Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

It was Gotcha #2, partially. So, you were right that I had been trying to add it from my iPhone. I'm using the Modular watch face and I was able to see Remote S and add it to both the long middle complication, as well as one of the small lower ones, so the size doesn't seem to matter, at least...

Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

Thanks. I had read the other posts. I've looked through all the watch faces and complications and am still not seeing it, so maybe there is something else I have to do.

Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

I'm wondering about the Apple Watch complication. I see it listed under "Complicatons" in "My Watch", but it doesn't show up on the menu when I try to add it to a watch face. Is it actually operational right now?

    Mirror not folding out completely

My driver's side mirror stopped opening completely a few weeks after I took delivery of the car. It was also loose. I had the car in for service for another issue last week and they replaced the mirror at the same time. No problems since then.

My Tesla shows car in production. No email received. Timing for delivery?

I never received any emails from Tesla beyond the initial order confirmation. Everything I knew about where in the process the car was came from checking MyTesla. So, I would go more by what you see there.

Shifting into Park Issue - Great Service Experience

Darn, I should have thought to check the Wifi connection with the loaner while I had it. I've had some issues with our car connecting, but I think it's probably our network. Good luck with the troubleshooting.

Shifting into Park Issue - Great Service Experience

On Sunday (2/5), the park button on the gear shift in my 5 week old 90D suddenly stopped working. I tried rebooting everything and turning the car fully off and on, but that didn't do anything. It would still go into park if I opened the driver's door, however. Roadside Assistance told me I...

    17.5.28

I updated last night. I drove it a couple times last night after the update and everything was fine. This morning, I drove it to my first destination and it was fine. I drove it to a second destination and heard some kind of chime when I got out of the car, but I didn't realize what was...

    Charging Clarification Please

Thanks. I would really prefer to just enjoy the car and not overthink it, but I was getting a bit concerned with all the different opinions. We don't have a garage, unfortunately, so the car is in the driveway and there isn't really an easy way to arrange for a drop down option for the cable.

    Charging Clarification Please

I have had my 90D for 5 weeks now. I have read many different threads on here about charging percentages and how low to let the battery get, etc., and there seems to be a wide array of opinions. I'd appreciate any clarifications or thoughts, mainly about whether the differences in opinion are...

Was there an update to the touchscreen when the car is in reverse?

Thanks. Closing the backup camera w/park assist view doesn't revert to the way it used to be, with navigation on top and camera on the bottom. I had never previously seen the traffic cone icon, so something obviously changed for me at some point. It's not a big deal, just a bit puzzling.
  26. lkuntz

Was there an update to the touchscreen when the car is in reverse?

I don't remember seeing the traffic cone and certainly don't remember pressing it. How do you switch it back?
  27. lkuntz

Was there an update to the touchscreen when the car is in reverse?

It hasn't always been like that for me, but it was this morning. I'm still on 2.52.120, though, and there was no upgrade to signal the change, so is there a setting somewhere? Previously, the navigation screen was on top and the rear view camera was on the bottom. The birdseye view was only...

Hand Controls in 90D (Wish We Had Grab Bars)

Thanks. We wanted the extra range that the S has (just missed the 100D by a few weeks!). Also, my husband felt that the X was too big. And, of course, the cost.

Hand Controls in 90D (Wish We Had Grab Bars)

I don't do twitter, but I have sent an email to my OA, asking him who to talk to about this. No response yet, so we'll see. A mount point would be an excellent compromise. Thanks for the suggestion!

Tesla announces 2012 Model S recall for airbags

I posted on the main page of the Model S forum. I'm not sure how to reference the thread here. It's titled "Hand Controls in 90D (Wish We Had Grab Bars)".

Hand Controls in 90D (Wish We Had Grab Bars)

Yes, we have been very pleased with the installations. The installers are very experienced and this is the 6th car they have done for us since 1993. Yes, the hand controls are permanent and they do not interfere with use of the pedals at all. To be honest, I haven't tried them yet. I'm still...

Hand Controls in 90D (Wish We Had Grab Bars)

We took delivery of our 90D in December 2016 and had hand controls installed last week. These are mechanical hand controls that are mounted to the steering column and at the back of the brake and accelerator pedals. For those who may not know, you push the handle forward towards the dash to...

Newer Teslas also with Takata recalled airbags?

I posted this on another thread on the same topic. Our S90D went into production on 12/19/16 and we took delivery on 12/29/16. We had to have the driver's knee airbag removed in order to install hand controls and it is a Takata. I assume the other airbags in the car are as well.

Tesla announces 2012 Model S recall for airbags

I can definitely share pictures and a description of what we did, but it may be a few days before I can do it. We are in the middle of a series of rainstorms and we don't have a garage, so the car is parked outside. As soon as I can get good pictures, I will post.

Yes, I agree that they should leave the disabled spots free. My husband is also a paraplegic (27 years for him). We have a Model S and he is having a hard time transferring in and out on the passenger's side. It is a wider distance from the door to the seat than any of our other cars and...

We took delivery of our 90D today! It's blue with a white interior (PUP, with ventilated seats) and we are very pleased with how it looks. We got SAS because we have a steep driveway and it worked great. The San Rafael SC parking lot is very long and narrow, with lots of cars scattered about...

    Hand Controls

Thanks for the information. I'll take a look. I found one company with interesting electronic controls, but they only install them in their facility in Florida. I'm not up for shipping the car across country if I don't have to.

    Hand Controls

Has anyone put hand controls in their Model S? We will need them for my husband to be able to drive the car (delivery on 12/29).
