    Tesla Pickup Truck Question

I currently am a Model X D100 owner. I know my car cannot be towed four wheels down. In fact, it must be towed on a flat bed truck. I am wondering if it would be possible for Tesla to make the new pickup truck towable behind an RV four wheels down. Could they have some kind of a switch...

Sheikh, et al. v. Tesla, Inc. Settlement - Thoughts?

I just got a check for $203.01 in re to Sheikh et al v Tesla Inc. I did not even realize I was included in this class action suit. Apparently if one did not opt out, they were included. I am wondering if there are any consequences to me if I cash this check. I do not want to give up my...

Just read this artilcle that explains Hardware 3.0 available in about 6 months will be at no cost for anyone who originally purchased FSD. Tesla’s new Autopilot hardware upgrade will be free for owners with the $3,000 to $5,000 ‘Full Self-Driving’ package

Tesla Announced 100kWh will be the largest battery for X and S

i am wondering why Tesla is not thinking about the small but growing number of Model X buyers who want to tow travel trailers and would like to avoid any range anxiety. When towing the 22ft Sport in moderate temperatures, the range has been reported to be only about 50% of normal. So for a...

FINALLY!!! Maintenance Plans and Extended Service Agreement

I am confused about the comments that Tesla requires customers to bring in their car at least one a year or every 12,500 miles, whichever comes sooner or Tesla can refuse to honor the extended warranty. Does this mean that one has to follow the maintenance schedule for the 1st four years to...

Tesla Range and Zero to 60 Model Comparisons

Maybe so. Also, I think the speed is faster with only the driver and no passengers. Lighter car will be faster.

    Ohmman's Airstream Adventures

Hi Ohmman, Was wondering if you were aware of the Lil Snoozy camp trailer and Ollie? Both look like candidates for the Model X towing. Also, was wondering if you considered the Airstream 19ft Flying Cloud. I know the hitch weight is 550 lbs but was wondering if using a weight...

    Ohmman's Airstream Adventures

No, you misunderstood what I said. Ohhmann was stating that when towing a travel trailer, one can drive 300 miles per day rather than 125 miles per day. With a longer battery range, one can charge to 90% instead of 100%. Recharging at superchargers will be faster when only charging to 90% of...

    Towing to Yosemite

Thank you Jim. I sent the same question to Ohhmann. He said he'd prefer the longer range, to avoid having to charge to 100% at each SC. This would decrease charging time and reduce degradation on the batteries. For what I plan to be doing, I am inclined to agree with him. If I am taking...

    Ohmman's Airstream Adventures

Thanks. I appreciate your thoughtful analysis. For me, the ability to drive farther each day (300 miles vs 125 miles) is more valuable then free charging for the amount of driving I plan to do. If I was using the car for business and driving 25,000 miles per year that would be a different...

    Ohmman's Airstream Adventures

Ohmman, I'd like your opinion as someone who has had considerable time to tow with Model X. Now that the 100D is available, if you were able to decide between the 90D with free supercharging or the 100D without free SC, which would you do? Would the 40 miles of extra range be enough to make you...

100D not available to update order that has free supercharger option per Tesla rep

That's what I'm going to do. I ordered a 5 seat 90D with delivery in late Feb/ Mar. I'll gladly give up the free SC and perforated seats for 40 miles more range. I want to tow an Airstream and the larger range the better. I doubt I'll put more than 12,000 miles each year and maybe as much as...

    Ohmman's Airstream Adventures

Thanks Ohmman, I am considering purchasing either a Flying Cloud 20 ft or the Bambi Sport 22. The Flying Cloud is 8 ft (96in) wide so I am assuming I would need towing mirrors given what you shared on the Model X mirror extension of 89.4in. The Bambi Sport 22 may tow better for a Model X...

Any Regrets on Buying the 5 Seater

The 1,300 lb difference between curb weight and Gross Weight for a 7 seater is the maximum limit for the weight of passengers and cargo. So if 7 adults assuming an average weight of 150 lbs equals 750 lbs for passengers which still allows for 550 lbs of cargo. Not sure what the combined Gross...

Initial trailer pulling report - 90D and Airstream 22ft Bambi Sport

Jim, Do you know what the Combined Gross Vehicle Weight is for the Model X? We know that the Model X can pull 5,000 lbs with 20 inch wheels. If the Model X weighs 4,500 lbs with zero passengers and cargo, then pulling a 4,500 lb airstream, would add up to 9,500 lbs. What would be nice to...

Any Regrets on Buying the 5 Seater

Looks very nice. A whole lot of space back there. Also, your 2nd row seat is supposed to recline. You use the same handle you use to fold them flat. Only the seats move back in the opposite direction. Each side is supposed to recline independently of the other.

    5 Seat MX Glamping

I considered buying an S but after test driving both what sold me on the MX was sitting higher and the wonderful visibility one gets with the X windshield. I considered a 6 seater but ordered the 5 seater because of the ability to fold the 2nd row bench seat flat.

    5 Seat MX Glamping

I have a 5 seater on order. I hear the 6 seater is still the best selling X. Do you have any thoughts on whether resale on the 5 seater will be an issue compared to the 6 seater? Are the majority of Model X purchasers families with a need for more seating?

Model X in hot Phoenix summers

I just ordered a Model X 90D. I love the panoramic windshield but have some worries that it will let more heat into the cabin during the 115 degreet Phoenix summers. Are there any Model X owners living in the Phoenix valley that can comment on whether this is a problem?
