They are used to doing same part swap. It’s what they do. I had to explain that this was an FSD upgrade. RCCB filters required. Old RCCC parts not supported.

I believe I got a hard breaking ding for accelerating in reverse. Makes sense as the forces are the same. Anyone else?

I did big them. They agreed: wrong part for that one cam. Rescheduled and waiting for right one. No surprise. These forums are great for this type of education.

S90D delivered Feb 2017 Scheduled for Portland SC invited camera upgrade Apr 26. (Yay). I’m looking at part numbers at top of thread and comparing to invoice they’ve attached to the service request. Triplecam and pillar cams match. Repeater cams part numbers do not match. Invoice shows: LAMP...

I saw the invite in the app inbox but no upgrade in service menu. Upon clicking the invite message and getting a bit more details, the upgrade showed as mentioned by others. Service setup for mobile appointment went smoothly. Now I wait to see what’s next.

I find “cameras and sensors “ but not Auto pilot upgrade. Hmmm.

The next question is: does staying “in” reduce our chances of new mainstream SW? I’m still “in” and stuck on 32.22.

The kicker for me in the note from service center shared a bit ago was the notion that being opted in, or not, does not effect when your camera upgrade might happen. I have remained opted in and have been managing my safety score to 99. Bleh. Not fun. I also think I’m missing out on...

Do we have examples of any Tesla invited camera upgrades ultimately resulting in actual FSD beta downloaded and running?

As an astronomer I use Julian Day. Day change at Noon. The night is all night long on the same ”day”. Gets rid of pesky 1:00am > 23:00 pm problems. And gloriously off topic too : )

There’s a couple threads from a while back where folks acquired modern cameras (eBay / wrecked cars /etc ?). They swapped out their old 2.0 cameras. Apparently if you then load a pending SW update, the car will configure itself and full color imaging happens. As we know, this auto config does...

I believe upthread, or maybe a diff thread, folks figured out part numbers and after swapping parts and getting a new SW release (that’s when reconfigure happens) all was well. I’m interested in whether these cars get new FSD. So far, sounds like “nope”.

A recent Musk tweet. The question to him was about FSD support for these vehicles. The Musk answer was that new cameras would be put in on Tesla dime.

Apparently the current FSD beta (city driving) requires MCU2, HW3, and the AP2.5 or later cameras. Musk says an upgrade will be available. In the mean time have any of your do it yourself camera upgrades made it into this beta program?

I’m wondering if this is the partial color blind thing (red vs yellow lights)? If so, then pillars and repeaters are fine as is. Only tri camera needs swapping. Or is this a more fundamental hardware driver incompatibility thing? Or a NN training simplification thing? These later two need...

What can we learn from the HW3.0 upgrade that we might apply to a camera upgrade? How long from announce to available? How uniform across service centers? Etc?

AP 2.0 upgraded to MCU2, HW3. Keeping my score at 100 at least into this next weekend. Keeping fingers crossed. Tired of driving like grandpa. Wait…. I have 16 grandkids. Harrumph.

My HW2.0 camera hope is embodied in the fact I was able to opt in with “the button“ that first morning. So 10.3 coming for “all” FSD cars is for me. ( don’t harsh my mellow : )

So why a ~two day delay this weekend? I’m thinking we’re not retraining NNs. Also not tuning driving code. More likely, the team is dealing with compatibility testing, configuration management and a modified release process. Just a thought…

Forgot to say, it was the ice rain. Portland got snow? We go ice rain. 3/4” on everything. Every twig and pine needle. The weight took everything out.

Miles and miles of down power lines. 1000’s of trees down and damaged. Some street lights not working. I’m just west of Salem and no power for several days now. But, my Tesla has still warmed me up and charged my phone. About depleted now though.

All settings lost for me during upgrade. Feb ‘17 model S. What about.. no. Could we.. no. But.. no. The only thing I really miss is the lifetime energy use of the long term trip meter I had running. I did take a picture of it at drop off (19226 kWh). Actually going through all settings...

Various folks have reported more than a day for the upgrade. What is the norm? Does one day happen? I have a long drive for a Fri morning drop off at the Portland SC. Trying to plan some logistics including some options. feb ‘17 model S. W00T

Same problem. 60k miles feb ‘17 model S. Ranger replaced entire charge port 2 months ago. Been right ever since. With multiple of us getting same symptoms, I wonder what root cause is.

other variable could be miles. I’m almost at 60k in 3 yrs. so full specs: S90D feb ‘17, ap2.0, 60k miles. And getting high latency.
