    2016 P90D X to 7 vs. 5 seat Y

Hello Model Y'ers - I currently have a 6 seater loaded 2016 P90D X with 140k miles on it and looking to take advantage of FUSC transfer. When I got my X I was obsessed with 0-60 acceleration, but now I realize that any Tesla is plenty quick enough for me. I still love my X but am sick of...

    Simple app request

Yes right, problem is I forget to turn it off and first thing I know it has been doing it every day for a month. It's dumb that you can only select every day or weekdays. For me (and I would imagine many others) that works for zero of the events in my life.

    Simple app request

My schedule is never regular. I need an app where I can easily tell it that I'm gonna depart at say 8am tomorrow, and it will start charging at the right time so that it will be charged right around 8am and ready with cabin preconditioned. I can probably sort of do that with the Tesla app but...

New suspension noise in 2016 Model X P90D

I didn’t think it was initially, but my noise turned out to be a brake issue. Unfortunately they also found a rear suspension issue, continuing my history of spending about $3k/year on keeping the wheels from falling off…

Class action suit re: suspension issues

Is there any kind of class action suit against Tesla regarding all these suspension issues? I have a 2016 P90D and pretty much every 6 months it requires a couple grand worth of suspension work, and I drive like a grandma. I only know 1 other X owner but he also has had issues, and a lot of...

New suspension noise in 2016 Model X P90D

Lots of posts here on suspension noise in Model X, I haven't seen one already describing this. I've had pretty much nothing but trouble with my front suspension in my 2016 P90D. What I have now is a metal on metal grinding noise when moving at slow speeds (under 10 mph) and turning the wheel...

Are control arms a problem on Y's like they are in X's?

I have a 2016 P90D Model X with AP1 and free supercharging (140k miles). It has every single option and I love it but the suspension issues have been a nightmare, basically every 18-24 months spending $1k-$3K replacing various parts - half shafts, control arms, etc. Now I'm getting air...

Model X door no longer open fully automatically without USS (ultra-sonic sensors)?

I have a 2016 X and I think the only time my doors fully opened was when I parked on the 50 yard line of an empty football field. Kidding obviously but I'd say they almost never open fully. Even my front doors I have to fight to open half the time.

    Tiny air pump sound

2016 P90D, air suspension. A few months ago I started hearing this sound like a tiny air pump. It is intermittent and is located in front of passenger seat somewhere. It doesn’t seem to come on when I raise the suspension but I’m assuming it’s related? Never heard it for the last 6 years until...

Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg EV or ICE car?

I would probably recommend taking the tram up to Ober Gatlinburg just for the experience and there is a decent mountain coaster up there and an alpine coaster. With kids of that range I’d do the Hatfield and McCoy dinner show, it’s funny and the food is pretty good. All the rafting places go...

Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg EV or ICE car?

Very familiar with this area. The SC is great actually, fast and never crowded, and the new Bucees at exit 407 right off I40 should be open as well I think. However if you’re with another couple with an ICE car it’s probably just gonna be annoying to them. It’d be different if you could charge...

    suspension $8000 fix???!!! 2018 x

I have a 2016 P90D and basically there has not been a time when there wasn’t something wrong with the front suspension except for the first 6 months. I drive about 20k miles a year but mostly normal highway stuff. 3 control arm replacements, both half shafts and basically I’ve just been driving...

Opened falcon wing door and this happened...

Hmm so the center spline was recalled I didn't know that...shouldn't Tesla have told me that since my car has been in the shop multiple times? Seems like if that had been replaced this never would have happened.

Opened falcon wing door and this happened...

2016 P90D. I just got my car back from the service center for front upper control arm replacements (3rd time) a few days ago, which is frustrating enough. Now I have severe acceleration shudder even at moderate acceleration. Anyways the point of this post is that I pulled into my garage...

    X vs. Ice

Yeah I did all those things but I'm talking about driving in an active sleet storm. As soon as you turn off high defrost it starts building up, the wiper heaters are not enough. But I didn't realize that blue on the defrost button was warm air, I thought it blew cold air.

    X vs. Ice

Ahh you're probably all thinking internal combustion engine, but I'm talking about good old fashioned frozen H2O... I live in Cincinnati, and about once every few years we get a sleet storm straight out of hell and it takes 2 hours to make what is usually a 20 minute drive. We had one of these...

Front suspension, sway bar links possible rattling.

I've had nothing but problems with the front suspension on my 2016 P90DX. It started with a slight squeaking/grinding noise on front passenger side when going over speed bump and progressively worsened until it was embarassingly loud like an old clunker. Still under warranty, they did...

    3 issues with my P90D X

I do have a motorized spoiler. It does come up, not sure if it has more than one up position but that’s what I was also thinking. You’re right about the charge screen, closing and reopening works. Still loving the car, and AP1 works great for me as almost all of my driving is highway. There...

Is Model X's efficiency really this bad?

Model X P90DL w/ 22" wheels here, same issue. I know, wheels, cold, speed, all reduce range. But the system should at least be smart enough to account for this so that as soon as I leave the supercharger and get back on the highway I get I warning that I won't reach the next supercharger...

    Sir Lancelot in my frunk?

Charging from NEMA 6-20 using NEMA 5-20 Adapter

The adaptor is easy to make, you use the Tesla 20amp/120V 5-20 adaptor on the end of your UMC, then just make a 5-20r to 6-20p adaptor. Works like a charm and took me 30 seconds (and I know next to nothing about wiring).

Charging from NEMA 6-20 using NEMA 5-20 Adapter

The home-made adapter part I agree on, but I think the Tesla recommended electricians should at least be able to say that Tesla makes a 6-15 adapter and you could easily convert an existing 5-20 or 5-15 to a 6-15 and more than double your hourly charge miles. 10-11 mile/hr charge is plenty for...

    Superchargers super-slow

Charging from NEMA 6-20 using NEMA 5-20 Adapter

I followed @davewill advice from another thread and converted a 5-20r to a 6-20r/240 volt in my garage. Then built an adaptor so I can use Tesla's 5-20p to automatically set 16 amps. Works great and could be a much cheaper option for many people who have detached garages that would lead to...
