We are going to have cameras stuck all over our cars with wires running everywhere, and another computer in the passenger seat for redundancy.

I suppose it depends on how long the cars last. If Tesla has to replace components until FSD level 4 is achieved then they may need to replace things several times. Then consider if additional cameras are required, maybe in the headlights or on the front bumper. Cost of retrofitting something...

Upgrading the cameras has been a complete disaster... now imagine replacing the radar units in every car made since late 2016.

Got my cameras installed today. Based on the invoice they appear to be correct. I haven't picked up my car yet but my Tesla app still shows "ineligible" for FSD beta. Does anyone know if/when that will go away? Do I need to reset my car somehow so the mothership knows the new cameras are installed?

Eventually I got them to check with their parts department and they updated my estimate with the correct part numbers. Now hopefully they'll actually install the correct ones! All is well that ends well I suppose...

They haven't done the "upgrade" yet. I'm arguing because I don't want to take my car in, then 2-3 weeks later do the same thing.

Most people here already had their cameras upgraded/received the invite? I feel like I'm the only one that has not received them and it's because Tesla doesn't recognize my car as being eligible for some reason.

This would be such a huge feature if it worked without having to babysit it. I don't see how Tesla could release such a feature unless they explicitly state that you have to follow it around to make sure it's safe.

Considering what numbers? The majority of people here have not been invited to upgrade yet. We still don't know when Tesla will get through their backlog or how much of a problem parts supply will be.

That's what I'm wondering. If the car knows its the new module there is no reason it cannot report that back. Do we have evidence of this either way?

So who is going to buy the 3 camera module from a newer car to replace their old module? It would be interesting to see if the car recognized it and updated itself.

I had a similar issue and they replaced the sensors, issue persisted. A mobile tech came out and replaced the black plastic piece towards the bottom outside of the FWD and no more issue.

I back into my garage about 2 feet from the back of the garage. The doors when open are behind the garage door, so no problems. Sometimes, one of the doors doesn't open all the way because it thinks its too close to the wall (its not). Yes I have them set to always fully open (they don't).

Got a loaner vehicle with something like 9k miles + a sizable discount. They replaced some seats, rims and some plastic pieces inside the car. Full warranty + tax credit = happy me.
