Has Tesla converted any Model Xs into service vehicles

Ah, that makes sense. The mobile service tech had an older Model S for my FSD swap. The back of the vehicle had a custom rig for holding all the tools.

Has Tesla converted any Model Xs into service vehicles

It depends on where you live. Some places have used Model S and Model X vehicles that they use. Others turn those around quickly and only use ICE vehicles. The Model S loaner I just had was a MS 60 that had the bubbling around the screen, loud motors and was pretty beat up, but I was happy to...

    screen discoloration

I had my display replaced last October. Just this week I noticed it again. It’s more pronounced this time around. Hopefully it’s not an annual replacement.

Jet engine LOUD fan in hot weather. Really?

I felt this summer my A/C was a lot louder than last year and I could feel a weird vibration in the wheel with it was going full speed to cool the car. So I took it in to the SC to have them look at it. They didn't feel the loudness was a problem but did find that my intake actuator for the HVAC...

    Software update 2018.6.1

Well then I want that update as I've caught my car heating away while it's sitting in the garage.
  12. zelig2

    screen discoloration

I don't notice it being any faster. Still has some of the sluggishness I've come to expect. The yellowing is gone so I'm happy about that. I missed the uncorking by a day so I had them uncork it this week. I haven't heard any dash rattles but I'll keep my ears open going forward.

    screen discoloration

Dropped the car off last night and they completed the MCU swap today. I’ll pick it up tomorrow. Got to drive a nice model X which my wife really liked.

    screen discoloration

I’ve got an appointment to have them look at it on Monday. I’ll let everyone know their assessment.

    screen discoloration

I’ve noticed this problem over the last week or two. Wasn’t sure if it was some weird reflection until recently when it was clear that it was a real issue. Going to contact the SC. 2016 MS new inventory car.

    17.26.76

That's correct. I'm also using one of their POE switches and an older UAP (non-AC) in my garage to guarantee a strong link. I even have a dedicated SSID just for the Tesla. Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll have completed my IOT VLAN isolation.

    17.26.76

It's a big update. I got home at 5:51pm and you can see it uploaded 3MB up to their servers. The download started around 10:58pm but I didn't get the notification until after midnight. So either it took a long time to download or it took a while to verify and prep for the update.

    Tesla Wifi Sux

Interesting. We have lots of Plex action in our house. That would be a weird interference.

75 price cut and 60 upgrade follows!!

    Yes. Still worthwhile.
  22. zelig2

    Tesla Wifi Sux

I also have it isolated on its own network at my house. I use 192.168.x.x/24 for the car. Just like you, once I got it working repeatably I don't want to touch it.

    Firmware 8.1 - Autopilot HW2

Just received notice that my S75D just got pushed 17.14.35 while at the service center. When I get it tonight I'll check the release notes for any changes.

75 price cut and 60 upgrade follows!!

I think the lifetime supercharging makes up for the loss of the power lift. I just jumped on the upgrade and will get it rebadged to a 75. Amusingly it started off as a 75 but got downgraded to a 60 when I bought it. Back to it's original state.

    Tesla Wifi Sux

I had lots of problems as well. It does seem to be super finicky. I wish they would give us access to the log files so we could do our own network troubleshooting. I tried a number of routers as well and the most stable was an old, I patched Apple AirPort Extreme running on just 2.4. I wasn't...

8.1 AP2 MS - TACC did not see a bus stopping in front this morning!

Many times I see failure to detects occur with large vehicles. The higher they are raised off the ground the less likely AP2 will spot the vehicle. Since Tesla tries to spot two vehicles in front by bouncing the radar under the vehicle it seems as if AP2 can sometimes miss the first vehicle if...

    Firmware 8.1 - Autopilot HW2

There are a few theories to why the OS can't hold on to the strong signal. I had the same problem in my house. I had an Asus router (RT-AC68U) and it wouldn't work. When I added an old Apple AirPort Extreme at the same location as my Asus router it worked. I also changed the subnet from...

    17.9.3

I just got it, though I've had poor WiFi in my garage until tonight when I starting getting my UniFi products going. The Tesla just did not like my ASUS router previously. Once the new AP was active I could see the car downloading the update.
  29. zelig2

    17.9.3

I've gotten the same schedule of updates. Still sitting at 17.5.28 since early February. Got my car end of December 2016.
  30. zelig2

    17.9.3

Agreed, It would have been nice to have gotten the last few updates. At least I have some level of AP/AS on the highway.

Map discrepancies on main GUI vs dash

That makes sense. I guess that means the traffic data from Google isn't used as well. Crossing my fingers for an eventual Waze integration. I have HW2 so my cameras don't read the speed limit signs. yet.

Map discrepancies on main GUI vs dash

Thanks for the info. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me to pay Google and Garmin but that was their decision. Does the navigation route come from Garmin and is overlayed onto the Google maps? That would explain a lot of the route choices I get vs what Google/Waze normally give me.

Map discrepancies on main GUI vs dash

I've noticed while driving around my neighborhood there are roads that show up on the google maps view on the main screen but they don't show up on the dash during navigation. Are they pulling the dash map info from a different source?

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

Went back to the showroom and they gave me a hoodie sweatshirt, long sleeve shirt and a vest jacket. I wanted the corporate jacket but they didn't have any in my size.

Official Model S Child Seat Thread - reviews, pictures, and discussion

I went to BuyBuyBaby yesterday and tried every high back booster with no luck. They all leaned forward. Right now I'm using a 5-n-1 Graco Nautilus seat that comes close to touching the back seat but does press into the headrest pretty bad. Looking for a solution whenever someone finds one.

Official Model S Child Seat Thread - reviews, pictures, and discussion

Anyone have a highback booster recommendation for the Model S? We have a bunch of Graco Turboboster but the forward leaning head rest causes the back of the set to not lay flush with the car seat. I'd prefer a highback booster over a 2-n-1 or other convertable seat since those tend to be quite...

    WiFi and LTE Keeps Flipping

My ASUS RT-68U router was not liked by my car. I've seen posts with theories but the changes I made still didn't work. The only thing that worked for me was to grab an old router (Apple Airport Extreme) and have the running with another network just for the car. That router is next to my Asus...

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

Sorry, I meant to say an additional J1772 adapter. I wanted to leave one permanently on my home charger and still keep one in the car. Then the iPhone lighting kit is normally installed for the Premium Upgrade Package but I didn't get the PUP so the kit was a bonus for me.

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

Recently in Columbus, Ohio I received... 1 pen 1 pin 1 umbrella 1 mug 1 J1772 adapter 1 iPhone connection kit (installed) Was told by my DS that I could get a shirt or sweatshirt from the store when I pop back in. Haven't gone back yet.
