"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

That’s my story and I’m sticking to to! I’ll only get called out if my wife comments that she thinks the car is faster (she’s the primary driver) but then we’ll also have a discussion about her speed...

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

I did it in Switzerland. Stupidly pressed buttons to quickly on my iPad and accidentally ordered and guess there’s no turning back.

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

I don’t blame Tesla for my stupidity but I was actually trying to see what the price incl. tax would be (turns out it is 2000 flat unlike in the US where I saw someone post a screenshot showing the total price around 2100 or so). I was expecting a checkout screen but didn’t get one...instead...

"Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

I just stupidly accidentally clicked the “pay” button and didn’t have a chance to confirm or anything. Got charged CHF 2k (Swiss Francs) without having any opportunity to cancel. Now I’m bouncing between sales and service to try and cancel the order before the upgrade is sent to the car (each...

Chatter about 2019 deliveries with EAP getting free FSD (question)

In Switzerland (and perhaps Germany), nearly everyone who ordered EAP and took delivery in late Feb got an SMS from Tesla saying they will get FSD for free. It makes sense though, for example, I took delivery on 1 March and could’ve returned the car and ordered a new one with FSD for the same...

To wrap or not to wrap?

I'm getting the front of my new M3 wrapped this week with Xpel Ultimate Plus. They're doing the hood, front fenders, front bumper and (A?) pillars (the ones that are next to the windshield). Doing just this was a 1/3 of the cost of doing the full car and it covers the most vulnerable areas...

problems in the European delivery hell

I got that same. This is really good on Tesla if it is indeed making us equivalent to buying the FSD option today. Of course, I could’ve just returned the vehicle and ordered a new one but the chance of me doing that we’re slim when I could instead just complain here.

problems in the European delivery hell

I’m at the delivery center in Zurich now. Tons of cars in here but only a few customers. My delivery specialist was accompanied by a new joiner so they are staffing up to handover more cars.

problems in the European delivery hell

problems in the European delivery hell

I finally got through to Tesla on the phone. The delivery date on my final invoice is when they expect the car to arrive in Switzerland. Delivery to me will still take 1-2 weeks. Now I can relax without stressing...the magic of communication!

problems in the European delivery hell

I agree - communication can solve a lot of the issues. I paid the final invoice quickly assuming that the 26 Feb delivery date on the invoice means I'll get my car then. Now I am not so sure... This will be my second Tesla so I should be used to the lack of communication. It still doesn't make...

problems in the European delivery hell

Deliveries have started in Switzerland but it is now impossible to get in touch with someone at Tesla regarding next steps. Other than seeing a final invoice appear in my Tesla account with a delivery date of next Tuesday, I haven’t heard anything. I paid the balance due and keep calling Tesla...

Advice request: used P100D vs used 100D

The AWD LR model. I didn’t get permission to buy the “P”. This is actually my second Tesla. I had a 60D but had to sell it after moving countries.

Advice request: used P100D vs used 100D

After all this, I ended up ordering an M3 today. The cargo space in the M3 is not as bad as I thought and the interior is really nice. Saving a ton of cash is an added bonus. The only major downside so far is waiting until March for delivery. Thanks for everyone’s input. I guess I better banish...

Advice request: used P100D vs used 100D

Thanks for all the feedback. I have confirmation that the supercharging transfers. To throw another wrinkle into the mix, what's your view on a new P3D vs the used P100D? The P3D new is $20k cheaper than a used P100D. Cargo space is a consideration but is it worth $20k?

Advice request: used P100D vs used 100D

Thanks for the advice so far - I can tell it isn’t a no brained. The car is for the family. I don’t plan on launching with two small kids in the back and facing the potential wrath of my wife. We will only have 1 car since I commute with public transport (meaning my wife will be the most...

Any idea on resale value for a MS 60D (AP 2.0)?

I unexpectedly need to move abroad and will sell my beloved MS 60D. I'm trying to figure out how much to post the car for put don't have many price points as an example. Financing and insurance in Hong Kong

I met some senior people at their regional HQ. They basically confirmed that the business was performing very poorly and are trying to price themselves out of the market. The future is when Tesla bundles insurance with the sale of the car, either by finding a fronting carrier or owning an...

    Resale Value Guarantee

I use the car almost exclusively in HK island and have rarely made it above 100kph. With such low mileage on the car I would only take the car for service every couple of years if my choice. If I drove an ICE I’d only have to take it in for oil changes every blue moon.
  31. A

    Resale Value Guarantee

That’s terrible. My documentation explicitly noted the requirement to take the car in for annual service. It’s the only reason to do it. Hopefully your car value is higher than the RVG (are you at 55% or higher?) so you end up better off selling privately.

Open letter to Mrs Carrie Lam - Support for electric vehicles in Hong Kong

Hong Kong doesn’t seem like a place where people just keep old cars sitting around. There is no way I could afford keeping a car park just so I can keep a car that I could easily scrap. In any case, I like that cars will get scrapped. At least newer ICE cars should be more efficient (excl...

    Kennedy Town Service Centre

I saw that Kennedy Town has a Tesla service center now. Tesla’s website doesn’t show this yet so maybe a new development. Would be great for me as I’ll save $130 in tunnel fees if I have to take the car in. Looks quite small but a good sign that Tesla still invests in HK post FRT changes.

How to add a HEPA filter to your non-Bioweapon facelift Model S!

My understanding is that HEPA filters don't remove smells / gases but do remove particulate matters. So VOCs wouldn't be removed without a carbon filter. Maybe the Tesla has a carbon filter as well though.

Bioweapon defense mode to the rescue this wee

I can't give you exact numbers but my air quality monitor went up slightly after putting on regular mode. The air was still good but not as good as with the bioweapon defense mode on. I don't understand why though since I turn on air recirculation.

Bioweapon defense mode to the rescue this wee

Since I have a young child, I'm completely paranoid about air pollution. As those of you in HK can attest to, the air was really bad this weekend. AQI of 150+ is unhealthy for anyone. I have a small air quality meter and can now confirm that the bioweapon defense mode takes the in car air...

Autopilot and parking now available in HK for AP2

AP2 hasn't had this feature that was available on AP1 vehicles. I *hope* that the car knows when there are adjacent vehicles when engaging auto lane change but the first safety check should be a visual confirmation before activating a lane change.

Autopilot and parking now available in HK for AP2

Hopefully things will get better as Tesla gets more data in HK. My MS desperately wanted to merge into a truck. Forcing the steering wheel in the opposite direction took a lot more force than I anticipated and I nearly overcorrected. My wife won't let me use it anymore when she's in the car...
