    Recirculation vs Outside Air

Personally I would really like to do that. An Vauxhall Belmont I had decades ago had the facility to simply emit outside air that had not passed through the heating system. It was very close to the actual outside air temperature. When I look at the energy stats I am concerned to see how many...

    Order deposit

I am trying to get my deposit back. I had been in correspondence with [email protected] about my order (and its cancellation due to no USS) but he did not reply to my request for return of deposit. I then wrote to Tesla Head Office UK 109 Devonshire Road London, W4 2AN but, again, no...

[UK] Anyone else considering refusing delivery by of Model Y? (USS)

Thanks for reopening the thread. I have cancelled my order for a M3LR scheduled for March 4th because it did not have parking sensors and Tesla could not provide me (I asked) with evidence that there was a functionality in development (beta) that could replace the USS functionality with...

    ordering the right Tesla iteration

I am beginning to feel that way and it worries be because I am a shareholder too and am concerned about the image they project to potential customers. I was about to receive delivery of a M3LR but when I discovered it had no parking sensors I cancelled and am keeping my existing M3SR+ for the...

    ordering the right Tesla iteration

Tesla does not release new models like, for instance the mk 5 Golf vs the mk4 Golf. Instead there is a process of punctuated equilibrium of a single model, say the Model 3. The equilibrium is where small iterations are made to the hardware and software but nothing major. The punctuations are...

[UK] Anyone else considering refusing delivery by of Model Y? (USS)

Just to offer my take on this, when I learned that USS was not going to be provided I asked several times for evidence, even on another Tesla model or with beta software that there was going to be a replacement technology that was competent using only the cameras. No evidence was provided. My...

[UK] Anyone else considering refusing delivery by of Model Y? (USS)

Thanks Init6. Yes I did google it https://www.gov.uk/online-and-distance-selling-for-businesses but distance selling doesn't immediately seem relevant. As the link you provided suggests it could be contract law but I am not sure that they have a clause entitling them to change specification...

[UK] Anyone else considering refusing delivery by of Model Y? (USS)

I have had a 2019 M3SR+ from new and of course it has USS parking sensors, which I use a lot. My new M3LR was due to be collected in a week. Two weeks ago I was told about the removal of USS. I asked Tesla for evidence that Tesla Vision, or any other technology, would replace the functionality...

what is the bhp or kW of the 2023 long range model 3

This is the original poster person. Thanks. Yes, I agree insurance companies are lazy and just want to tick boxes, and of course they should know what the bhp is for an unmodified vehicle. From your posts it seems that it can't be 302 and so it must be 469 and since there are only two boxes to...

what is the bhp or kW of the 2023 long range model 3

I am trading in my 2019 model 3 for a new long range model 3. No performance upgrade. Direct line wants to know if it is 302 bhp or 469 bhp. The figures I have been able to find are neither of these. The Tesla website does not seem to quote bhp or kW. What is the official figure please?

    Standard range journeys

Thanks. The non-Tesla stalls seemed to be busy too. I am less inclined to use the non-Tesla stalls because of the payment complexity. Perhaps I should give them a go. I realised afterwards that there are superchargers at Chelmsford. I could have fully charged there and that would have got me...

    Standard range journeys

I needed to get from Cheltenham to a place near Kings Lynn, then to Chelmsford and then back home to Cheltenham. I found I needed to put some manual work into planning this trip. The superchargers at Rugby and Kings Lynn were low occupancy and I could charge quickly, The Thetford supercharger...

    Map Updates for Road Closures

Is there a way of bringing attention of this issue to Tesla?
  14. N

    Map Updates for Road Closures

Yes, indeed. The rerouting works for slowed down traffic, but not for non-existent traffic as would be the case for a road closure. I don't know the rental agreement they have. Is it with Google? If so why aren't road closures that show on Google uploaded to Tesla? Slowed down traffic is...

    Map Updates for Road Closures

I drive in the UK. Right now Google Maps is clearly showing road closures that my Tesla has unwittingly got caught up in. I am disappointed that there is not a regular (i.e. more frequent than daily) download of this crucial information to the car. The routing capability of the car is able to...

    V11 - what’s your verdict?

I agree. To me this is the worst aspect of the new UI. Like you I used it to monitor the smoothness of my driving and consequent Watts per mile. It unobtrusively occupied only a small space beneath the car icon. It was a similar driving aid to the old fuel consumption meter in an ICE car.

Confused about charging in off-peak hours

There are two ways to do it. My charger, an openEVSE, has an option to set a timer from 00.30 to 04.30 and the Tesla 3 charges at 32A until it is full or it is 04.30. If my charger didn't have a timer then I would set the charge limit to 32 x 4 miles above the starting mileage. I should...

scheduled charging on app forgets setting

scheduled charging on app forgets setting

I have a model 3 and had the new app update that allows you to specify the charging current. I also just switched to Octopus Go so I am using scheduled charging most nights. I find that I have to reset Scheduled Charging. The app sometimes switches to Departure settings, which I don't use or...

travel to London, charge while parked.

Thanks for the information. Yes, it would be too much to ask for automatic number-plate recognition and a lookup table of pure electric vehicles. That would employ fewer people. Mine is a standard range plus, so I would need to charge. It would be nice to have managed parking and charging in...

travel to London, charge while parked.

travel to London, charge while parked.

simple partitioning of big ssd for dashcam and music

I was uncertain myself and I have noticed some posts illustrating other people were uncertain too about how to partition and initialise a big ssd (Samsung T5 in my case) for use both as a repository for dashcam/sentry and also for music (or language tuition in my case). So here is a screen dump...

    Condensation in tail light

Is it known whether the light assembly is open at the back? Presumably it must be which is why the moisture gets in. After Tesla replaced the boot seal I have been using a small dehumidifier in the boot while parked at home. This draws out about a cup of water in 24hrs. In the UK the relative...

    Condensation in tail light

A week ago I took mine in for fungus growth in lower boot area. My rear lights suffer condensation however I was told that there needed to be actual water, by which I presume they meant a pool of water, in the light fitting for them to consider replacement. Personally I feel that any moisture...

    Sentry Mode Battery Usage

Leaving sentry mode on overnight seems to consume the equivalent of 10 miles of range, or 3 kWh, which seems rather a lot. I'd be grateful if other owners could confirm this is normal, thanks. I suppose several cameras are on all the time and possibly the computer cannot be shutdown to the...

    service - what to expect

The final chapter is that yesterday's visit to Tesla in Patchway, Bristol was a pleasant experience. service - what to expect

Thanks for all those replies. I don't know whether this is an overnight job, so I don't know whether to reserve a courtesy car. mould in the boot ( trunk) model 3 (11 months old)

You are absolutely right. I should let Tesla fix it. It is a compulsion of mine to always be able to fix things. I must resist. However, as a point of curiosity, I have borrowed a small dehumidifier which is working at the moment in the closed lower boot section. I want to see if it can draw...

mould in the boot ( trunk) model 3 (11 months old)

Thanks both. " looks like dried up rusty water " Sorry, no, it is my carelessness in not vacuuming the dry brown dust before taking the photo. The boot (trunk) feels dry. I will take your advice. I have a 14 year old son who likes being shut in the boot for some reason, so he can help with...

mould in the boot ( trunk) model 3 (11 months old)

I the possibilities are that the boot was left slightly open in the rain, however the rest of the boot is not damp. Neither are there signs of ingress from below. Obviously this is an area that is almost sealed off from the main boot and is not ventilated. Once there is a bit of damp, even damp...

    Adjusting charging amps remotely?

Mine was a hands-off purchase. I did go for a test drive in Bristol but they couldn't give me a drive in a model 3 so it was a different car. I think I had already placed a deposit for a model 3 by that stage. When it came to final purchase there were dates offered and then missed and I...

Thanks, Zigway. The car was "delivered" Nov 2019. There is a Tesla document Connectivity that says that the cheap cars (UK Model 3 standard range plus) only get 1 month premium connectivity. I was not aware of this at the time of purchase. I can't find it in any contractual document.

What Kind of Car Did The Model 3 Replace?

VW performance pack GTI 245 bhp 2018 It was fast BUT only when the turbo was spinning and the 7 speed DSG was in the right gear. By comparison the M3 is effortless to drive and reliable in its response and actually handles very well along twisty bends. I'm still acclimatising to the shift of...
