Buzzing noise from one speaker in liftgate (Model S 2016 MCU2/AP3)

I don't frequent this forum as often as some others and I forgot about this thread so sorry for the late reply. Yeah, the first thing I did was remove all devices. They seem to have an impact on triggering it sometimes but even when there are no cells or wifi devices in the car at all it can...

Buzzing noise from one speaker in liftgate (Model S 2016 MCU2/AP3)

No, nothing I've been able to do so far seems to have any effect. It'll be just as loud as it ever is even when the car is parked. I haven't been able to figure out any direct correlation between what the car is doing at any given moment and whether or not I hear the noise. This is one of the...

Buzzing noise from one speaker in liftgate (Model S 2016 MCU2/AP3)

I've got a weird issue that I haven't been able to identify the source of. Often while driving I'll get a buzz from the driver's side speaker in my liftgate. The noise comes and goes but it's present pretty often. It sounds like radio interference on the wire but it only happens in this one...

Can I upgrade my Ap1 car to Full Self Driving ( FSD )?

No, this will not be possible. When HW2 was first announced Elon said in a call that there would be no upgrade path between HW1 and HW2. He equated the complexity involved to being like performing a spinal transplant on the car and the procedure would cost more than just buying a new car.

    Blackvue DR900S vampire drain

"According to Teslafi, my car hasn't slept at all for over 2 days." Yeah, he pretty much answered his own question with that one line. I have both as well and while I haven't noticed a significant increase in drain from the camera, TeslaFi absolutely eats miles on a daily basis. I turn it off...

AEB didn't kick in either of those videos. Both were just examples of Forward Collision Detection. Still cool, though. God, the music in that first vid...

Removing the Passenger Seat Track Cover

I'm trying to expose the floor bolts for the passenger seat in my late 2016 Model S. The track that the seat runs on has a plastic covering that covers the bolts in the front and back on each side, but for the life of my I can't figure out how to remove these plastic covers (without just ripping...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

December 2016 custom built 75D 172XXX VIN uncorked Wednesday last week. Difference was significant and immediately noticeable. Got some "before" measurements with Dashboard for Tesla on 0-60 to make sure the perceived difference wasn't in my head. Haven't had a good "after" test but even with a...

Tesla Owner API Tutorial (All you need is your browser)

Here's a comparison of the output between 42 and 46.8.

Tesla Owner API Tutorial (All you need is your browser)

I was just about to ask that. It appears to be as of "46" and up. The schema changes were significant enough to break the Dashboard for Tesla application. The developer updated it today to accommodate the newer firmwares.

Tesla Owner API Tutorial (All you need is your browser)

Confirmed that this is removed from the latest firmwares. I took my car in for uncorking and literally watched it happen. I kept a PowerShell script queued up on my phone via RDP to query the status of my car as they were working on it. They uncorked it first, which my script confirmed, and then...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

+1 to this. I got a positive result from this when I got a negative result from the SC. When I asked about the discrepancy, they said that the only cars they initially manufactured after the June/July 2017 time frame that didn't already have the improved performance but now they have rolled it...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

It was a snippet of a screenshot from what appeared to be a table with no column names visible that read as follows: (My VIN) | SI-17-00-005 (R. 1) | Mandatory | Service Internal Document | 75D Firmware Update to Increase Performance | 07-Sep-2017

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

I got an email telling me that I can get uncorked in spite of the SC telling me I couldn't a week and a half ago. Incidentally here's the email exchange for anyone interested: Me: I wanted to double check my car's eligibility for the 75D performance "uncorking". Based on feedback I've seen in...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

I wrote a PowerShell script to query the performance config of the car. If you install the Tesla API Powershell Module from here: GitHub - JonnMsft/TeslaPSModule: Control your Tesla vehicle from PowerShell You can run the following script in PowerShell ISE to determine the performance status...

Tesla Owner API Tutorial (All you need is your browser)

For Windows users I already wrote a Powershell script using the Tesla API Powershell module to get my vehicle data. If anyone's interested I can make a version that specifically calls out the performance config. Functionally it's the same thing as manually crafting API calls, but there are fewer...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

That was sort of my point. They only did this for a small number of cars while there are a ton of people being told they are not eligible for uncorking, so the two are likely not related.

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

Yeah, pretty sure that's not the case. The batteries are pretty clearly labelled which is how people found out that a few cars (six and all in Norway at the time) had larger batteries. We never really heard much about those cars since then and nobody has reported on more cars like that...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

I don't know that there's a direct correlation. 2017.42.a88c8d5 is getting pushed to cars OTA and is the update that includes full speed AEB for HW2 cars and the folding mirrors enhancement. It's likely they just updated the car to the latest regular firmware while they had it there.

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

I suspect it's not a question of incompetence. It seems like the eligibility list is pushed out from corporate and based on threads it just looks like they are deliberately adding cars a few at a time to keep service centers from being mobbed. If that's the case, it wouldn't be your local...

What did you use to measure the performance of your car?
  24. Byshop303

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

Yeah, it's all over the map. I'm a 172XXX and I was told I'm not eligible, and they've both told 171XXXs that they were and weren't, depending on the exact VIN. The eligibility list really seems to be coming from corporate, so I'm hopeful that this means it's just a question of "they are...
  25. Byshop303

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

Well, the update is free, it's an update that probably pretty much every 75D owner will want, and it takes two hours in the service center. The idea that they might be doing this as a phased rollout so the service centers don't get slammed doesn't seem that crazy to me. Honestly, though, I'm...

    Uncorking official for most 75Ds!

This gives me hope, then. Cali is obviously a big Tesla state and if there are only 4 cars -currently- eligible, then that would seem to directly contradict the email from Tesla claiming that this will be available for most 75D owners. That could suggest that it's not a question of your car and...

Tesla Vehicle Wireless Network Software Glitch (Initializing Loop)

Fortunately, the double NAT doesn't seem to cause any problems. In my case my car wouldn't connect to my guest network on the Asus at all for some reason. Someone replied on the Reddit thread and said that they saw a Youtube video where someone who had the same problem had narrowed it down to...

Tesla Vehicle Wireless Network Software Glitch (Initializing Loop)

It likely won't happen for everyone, just those who have whatever other device on their network is causing the crash. Someone on the Reddit thread said that it might be caused by DLNA servers on the same network.

Tesla Vehicle Wireless Network Software Glitch (Initializing Loop)

Forgot one: Connect Tesla to Netgear while it's not connected to the internet either as a bridge or over LAN cable (as an experiment): Fails to connect kicking back to password prompt (Tesla won't apparently stay connected to a WiFi network with no internet access).

Tesla Vehicle Wireless Network Software Glitch (Initializing Loop)

I've encountered what appears to be a bug in firmware versions 17.11.3 and up. When attaching to certain WiFi networks, the wireless NIC appears to crash resulting in it going into an "Initializing" state. It happens usually within about 10 seconds of connecting to a network. Best guess is that...

Yeah, saw that. So much for the pattern. Also, what an underwhelming update.

Why presumably HW1? The pattern that the recent updates have been following is even numbers of HW2 and odd for HW1,

    17.5.28

Yeah, I got the same note from Teslafi. I logged in to see if I could find out more info. Turns out that's actually my car. :) My Model S is at the Denver Service Center right now because they are fixing a jacked side mirror motor and some intermittent AP failure issues. I guess they must have...
