Plaid handling improvements: better wheels, tires, brakes, suspension options

How do you get the software upgrade if you have already installed aftermarket CCB brakes and new rims?

Why the Yoke is unsafe for the Track

Lots of people say the yoke has safety benefits. The yoke provides a clear view of the car's instrument cluster, which would be partially blocked by a traditional steering wheel. And it also helps assure that a driver's hands are kept at "9 and 3. This prevents injury to arms when the airbag is...

Model S Plaid Brakes Are Terrible!

I’m kinda hoping they put in the new brake booster part Where are the numbers located to tell which one you have? None of the numbers show up on the top of the unit. If you go to the parts sign in it only lists the new number. How can you tell they switched a part in Nov 2021? Would the parts...

Model S Plaid Brakes Are Terrible!

This guy and MPP above say that Carbon Brakes are much better. Why would you not use them on the track? If the car stops faster and has less brake fade then what is the down side? Less rotational mass should also need less energy to slow down. Is there any real world data that shows the carbon...

Model S Plaid Brakes Are Terrible!

The reason I feel you can get away with the stock size for the front rotors is because of the addition of the UP brake air cooling kit. The main problem with the brakes is that with hard use the fronts are catching on fire. Carbon rotors and race pads will not catch on fire and last way longer...

Model S Plaid Brakes Are Terrible!

My feeling is that if you get an unplugged performance brake air cooling duct kit and replace just the front rotors with stock size 380 x 32 Ceramic coated Carbon fiber rotors and racing pads you will get over 30 pounds of weight savings and enough braking to cover most track use and all street...

    rear seat bench removal

There used to be quick disconnect plugs on the cables going to the rear seat warmers on my old model S. Now when I flip the 2 latches to remove the rear bench on the latest model S I can't find the plugs to take the bench out of the car. Anyone else have this problem?

Drifting my P100D on track (pulled the ESP fuse)

Which fuse did you pull? Where is it located? Did the car go back to normal after you put the fuse back in? Thanks

    100D vs. P100D and towing

Could you give me some more detail. I know the battery pack is the same so it may also just be the solid state fuse for ludicrous mode and the larger motor.

    100D vs. P100D and towing

The P100D only weighs 60 pounds more than the 100D. This must just be the weight of the larger rear motor. Wonder if you could get a larger motor from a wrecked P100D model S or X and then have the same vehicle that people are paying many thousands more for?

    Carbon Fiber Rims

Tests show that there is 4.9% more power consumption for Model S P100D with 21″ vs 19″ wheels. This must be because of the weight of the bigger wheels and more inertia needed to get started. How did the new carbon fibre rims work out? I would guess there would be a lot of performance gains with...

Pack Performance and Launch Mode Limits

I traded in my P85DL and along with someone else on the forum I noticed when they listed it as a CPO they had removed the underline and where selling it as only a P85D. I went in to see the car and then confronted the sales person and he later admitted that because of the high counts they...

    TRC P100D runs 10.4!

Pack Performance and Launch Mode Limits

Do you have to use LM now to get the best times at a drag strip? Does anyone have experience doing this? Seems it might not be practical.
