    Problems with rear hatch

Thanks Irishspider. I was actually referring to the ride quality in terms of how firm or soft the ride is relative to the S, not so much the steering. I've heard some say the 3 has a stiff ride. Others call it sporty. I'd suspect I'd call it stiff although I haven't driven it. So would you say...

    Polestar Precept

The Polestar 2 is made in China. The car has a lot going for it in terms of features. Service models seem to be following Tesla's early days, with concierge pick up and drop off.

    Problems with rear hatch

Congrats on the car. I’m curious as to how you find the ride quality of your new Y vs your Model S. My S is the same vintage as yours was.

I want a Metallic Silver please Elon

Silver is such a universally popular color for any car, I can't imagine why it was discontinued. I love my MS in sliver!

    What is neutral for?

I use neutral for the car wash I go to. It works fine as the car is pulled along.

Cover for Heatpump to reduce Noise

Wow, I never realized how many improvements were made going from the M3 to the Y.

Tesla will support wifi garage opener soon

I, like many (most?) would still need HomeLink for 2 reasons. The first is my condo’s front gate access that responds beautifully to the geotagging on my S. WiFi would be useless and would require me to carry the front gate remote. No thanks. The second is my garage door opener has never given...

Mustang Mach E is a Gamechanger - My Opinion

Well, I will confess I have a refundable deposit down on a RWD LR Mach E. I actually like the exterior look of the car, even if not as much as my S. However judging by the pictures, I find the Mach E’s interior more attractive and upscale looking than my S. My thought process is I’d be going...

I just hope Ethel likes it as much. ;)

    I like it!

With a firm ride you feel bumps, potholes and road irregularities more than you would with a softer, more compliant ride. Even my wife’s new Lexus ES300h hybrid rides softer than my Model S and is more comfortable on bad roads. Of course my S is still more fun to drive.
  11. K

    I like it!

I will assume it's too firm for me then. But it does look nice, especially in that color.

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

Well, to be fair, you can eat meat and observe sanitary conditions that won't result in viruses of this nature. Unfortunately that's not what's happening in the Wuhan. BTW, I had one of those Impossible burgers at BK and thought it was actually pretty good. My wife didn't agree. ;)

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

For those would like to understand how & why this virus started, this video is quite informative. It simply states the facts and may open some eyes...at least for those with an open mind:

    Will Y Sales Flop?

With the economy tanking thanks to the virus, of course it’s a safe bet that sales will be down for virtually all cars, not just the Y. Compounding the issue is the fact that we’re getting close to sub $2/gallon gas in many areas and that certainly is not a stimulus for EVs. It has actually...

Service Center - Smithtown, NY (Long Island)

I took a look today and was amazed. I haven’t seen so many new Teslas in one lot except in pictures out of California. I’m assuming this is a feeding point for neighboring states. I didn’t see any Model Ys, but there was a ton of everything else. I also heard quite a bit of construction going on...

    I like it!

I started a thread on ride quality a week or so ago, but nobody has said anything quite yet. I'd like to hear from rroonnbb despite the larger wheels, which I'm sure will stiffen the ride somewhat.

Florafauna, you can disagree with this, but he DID say it. Go blame him for a truly idiotic comment. But disagreeing with a fact is a bit silly.

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

^ If you got your information from more reputable sources other than Rachel Madow & Co, and the 24/7 Trump-hating CNN, you’d know your accusations are false. Trump did not call the virus a hoax, but rather the Dems accusations that this was his fault (as they claim everything negative in the...

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

I don't think they're referring to the US as having 'poorly developed health services'. If that's what you're driving at then you're simply trolling. If you're referring to their reference to 'collective infrastructure', I don't think you or I know exactly what they mean since the added words...

As long as you're fine with Tesla being less than upfront with this after being promised, great. I fully understand the agreement, but there is something called ethics.

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

^ Yup. We're watching the unraveling of a society. It's like watching a Hollywood disaster movie. The scary thing is it's actually worse in other countries.

But c'mon, let's be honest, it was clearly shown above that this was a highlighted feature of the premium interior. It's not as if this was a 'rumored' feature, it was there in B&W. I just think it's very 'flip' to say, "Oh well, you can always cancel your order and get a refund". That's true...

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

True, but remember the U.S. was never geared up for testing on a pandemic level. The CDC was never created to deal with cases of a magnitude we're currently seeing or will see in the U.S. We can argue this should have been within their capabilities, but it never has been regardless of prior...

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

^ Nonsense. The partnership between government & private industry, that was developed in record time, is unprecedented in this country’s history. Unprecedented. Production capability for medical testing is being ramped up in record time. 400,000 test kits are being manufactured every week and...

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

Well Tam, we just need you on the medical team to get it all right. It’s reassuring to see how much more you know than all of those men & women with their fancy medical degrees. Is there anything you think this administration has done right? OY!
  34. K

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

The whole damn country is nearly shut down. I think that’s taking it seriously. Further, there’s plenty of knowledge sharing that’s going on between countries. The biggest issue was that China initially tried to hide it and, far more seriously, allowed the conditions that caused this virus...

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

Yeah, better to have 1,000 people die from the Swine Flu before you say or do anything. And we have this claim about the Trump administration that's also proved false: False Claim About CDC's Global Anti-Pandemic Work

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

A chronic diseases can be high cholesterol, high blood pressure or a variety of other conditions that would not put that person in the 'high risk' category for this virus. That's a very loosey goosey stat that can also be very misleading. These kinds of stats is what sends the population into a...

Care to share those statistics? I'd sure love to see them. It's hard for me to believe that the average person buying a Tesla, usually someone who's far more tech-savvy than the average guy, wouldn't know those buttons existed or be curious as to what they do. I'm sure the average Tesla owner...
  41. K

    Homelink

Why would they do that? Why not tack on the minimal amount that it costs since most will use it. That's really shortsighted and will require all Y owners who want it to visit a SC. That's more backlogs at the SC.
  42. K

How's the ride of the Y?

Not sure what this has to do with the ride quality of the Model Y.
  43. K

How's the ride of the Y?

I believe it has a wider wheelbase. I'd think that alone would affect the ride.
  44. K

How's the ride of the Y?

From my perspective a stiffer ride than even the 3 would be a definite negative.
  45. K

How's the ride of the Y?

Some have found the ride of the M3 a bit harsh or stiff. How is the ride on the Y? Is it smoother/softer than the 3? If anyone has any experience with an S, X or 3, perhaps you can make some meaningful comparisons.
  46. K

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

Put in perspective, approximately 19,000 have died just in the U.S. this season from the flu alone. At times, during a more severe flu season, 30,000 and more fatalities occur.

I traded my Tesla for a Lexus

My wife’s car is a 2019 ES300h. It gets a NY clean pass and about 40-45mpg all around. I wish my S was as quiet, rattle-free and well made as her car. But it’s not as fun to drive. :)
