Yea I had the same thing. They can do it remotely. In 15 min you will have full unlock and drive control from the app.

I totally feel you on this because my car has a sunroof the ventilated leather seats Alcântara headliner and wood trim that I actually like. I use my sunroof regularly. Ventilated seats help a bit and I prefer the leather. But the raven suspension is compelling.

3.5 years in and recently had MCU2 and FSD computer put in. Car feels very fresh now. I’ll try to drive it until it falls apart which could be another 10 years.

I decided not to keep my old MCU one because it was basically dead but I recognize the risk of personal data being lost because I have no way to wipe it since it was dead when I drove it in

What is your GPS issue? Are you seeing your car at home in the Tesla APP when you park at home? After my MCU2 upgrade my GPS is off enough when Parked at home to think it’s at the neighboring address.

Seems to be a quick bug fix since it was a very fast install.

After testing the update I can confirm that on freeways the GPS seems more accurate seems to keep me correctly positioned within each lane but I still have the drift problem in Windee roads in less open areas

I just got this on 2017 S90D with MCU2 and FSD upgrade. My GPS has been drifting since they MCU2 upgrade. Hope this resolves it!

Just for fun I checked the back of the hatch. Are any of these GPS antenna connections? They sure do seem sharply bent. I guess they could be cellular and radio antennas?

Yes it’s off. Today it’s to the left of the road. I reached out to service. Too bad because the MCU2 upgrade has been great otherwise.

Driving around more today it’s definitely off by about 50-100ft to the right of the road. It seems to Drift off more when turning right and somewhat re centers back when turning left. It’s a bummer because AP3 FSD MCU2 upgrades are otherwise flawless.

I had the same issue on a 2017 and yes it was a dead MCU1. Eventually I was able to get MCU2 upgrade with my ore paid FSD upgrade. Highly recommend it if possible to upgrade your MCU.

Talked to service and they were able to re-enable it remotely and after 15min I was able to unlock and open trunk.

Sorry meant to say AP2 to FSD. My GPS drift seems to Have re centered after a few drives. Thankfully it’s not slamming on the brakes when it thinks it’s suddenly jumped to a slower speed limit on the map.

It was eventually resolved and I only paid $2500+tax. The car works well now and is Nicky refreshed after 3 years of ownership after having pre paid for FSD.

I have been testing out 2020.16.2.1 for the last few days. This is on a early 2017 Model S 90D with FSD upgraded and MCU2. Seems fairly stable in slower traffic and in sharper turns it slows as takes safely. I did notice a bit more ping ponging than my AP1 at 75-80MPH on long sweeping turns...

Also with GPS Drift (I’m experiencing now) you could be safely driving at 70mph only to pass by a road and have your speed limit shift to 35mph and AP slam on the breaks.

I’m having that intermittent fandom breaking during AP after MCU 2.0 upgrade. I think my GPS is off too which reads the wrong speed limit when I’m driving by other roads.

Like Croman, I had the same issue. 33.5k mikes MCU1 died. I had FSD pre paid for so I was able to pay for MCU2 upgrade and got FSD upgraded while they did MCU. I would have not upgraded MCU if mine was not dead.

I’m having the exact same experience. Random speed limit changes without reading signs. Driving down a 45 and suddenly thinks it’s 25. I will have to disable traffic light control too. Basically makes AP useless if you have to touch the accelerator for every green intersection.

$2500 is steep but they replace the MCU and IC and while the FSD features are not really that much more usefully with stop and light confirmation the speed of MCU 2 is worth it alone.

Ok so I got lucky and pushing up on the top middle of the rounded black plastic IC frame cover caught the edge of the screen protector and pulled down the middle and it came off fairly easily. Phew! It’s so glossy with no glare now!

I just had my MC2 and FSD computer replaced. Looks like they forgot to remove the Instrument Cluster screen protector too. :( How did you get it off. I don’t want to go back to service.

Picked up the car. So far things look good. It was dark so I could not really look in detail. The MCU 2.0 is super snappy! I will need to try out FSD Computer after the maps update downloads and I can enable the stop light detection.

Service advisor called me this morning. They completed the retrofit, however one of the wood trim pieces was damaged so they are trying to track down a replacement. We'll see how it works out... I'm not surprised something would be damaged during this type of retrofit. Hopefully they complete it...
