Reduced options lose this S owner

Why do you think that Tesla should do what Mercedes (or BMW, or Audi) does?

Petition to demand "camera on top, media player on bottom" be retained in UI

Thanks for a reasonable response. Let's hope that Teslas next update allows you to have what you prefer while I and others get what we want, whatever choices they may be.

Petition to demand "camera on top, media player on bottom" be retained in UI

Sucks for you that you have such a commute. But why should everyone have to deal with your problems? For the rest of us, with different issues and preferences, let's all hav a choice of what apps we can have shown on our touch screen. You can have your map, I can have whatever different I...

Petition to demand "camera on top, media player on bottom" be retained in UI

"the point is not really about losing the camera on top. It’s really about losing the prior configurability to put ANY app of your choosing on top, other than maps. People that don’t need maps are effectively losing use of half of the big screen. A huge downgrade on an otherwise distinguishing...

Petition to demand "camera on top, media player on bottom" be retained in UI

It's not fascination, it's safety - knowing what's all around you. The wide angle of the rear camera covers back and sides - I can still see the rear end of a car pulling up along side at the same time as I can see the front end in my front door windows. Not everyone feels the same way about...

    Software Update 2018.39.5 a1c2332 (first 9.0 release)

I wonder what the map people would be posting if the situation were reversed, and the rear-view camera was always displayed and the map could only be shown as an overly at the bottom of the touchscreen?

    Software Update 2018.39.5 a1c2332 (first 9.0 release)

It seems that there are a lot of worthwhile improvements in V9, but one overwhelming disadvantage - the navigation screen will take up the top portion of the touchscreen whether you want it there or you don't want it at all. A long as that stays true I will not be installing any new downgrade...

    Supercharger - Mehlville, MO

No transformer on Sunday, but I guess you wouldn't expect one to be delivered on the weekend. The risers have been cut down to about 4-6 inches above the pad and capped off with duct tape. Every other charging spot is signed "Tesla charging only" alternating with "General Parking 30 minute...

    Why not?

Besides SCN, what features (or lack of in 3 ) would make u jump ship from a 3 to a competing brand?

The current Leaf has NO thermal management. It remains to be seen how well the thermal management on the new Leaf will perform.

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

You know this how? You've presented an interesting and detailed argument for pricing strategy, but it's a generalization and may not include all of the details specific to Tesla. Are you on the Tesla team that sets the Tesla pricing strategy? Do you have inside information as to all of the...

So it's not the EAP you can't trust, it's yourself you can't trust.

    Tesla Financing Questions

Yes, if the interest rate on the loan is sufficiently less than what a person could earn by investing the cash.

NO mechanical handle for rear doors. Seriously?

I hope all the complainers are cancelling their reservations so I can move up a bit.

I hope you enjoy the experience, in as much as you've made it clear how bad you expect using the touchscreen will be.

Winter Tire: Tesla shop or Local shop?

True. Owners better make sure the shops they choose have their employees read the manual before they lift the car. You don't want to have some tire changer muttering "oops".

    Details Model 3 interior walk-through

What T34me wrote, and I quoted, was "My current late model car does not have rain sensing, and I have to look at the twist stock every time I adjust the wipers. Amazingly I have lived to tell about this experience. The Tesla screen will be much easier to adjust then a twist stock." Clearly...

    Tesla Financing Questions

I've never heard of a loan - car or otherwise - where pre-payments decrease the subsequent monthly payment amounts rather than decreasing the number of payments remaining. If some people have had such loans then I accept that they exist, so check in advance how pre-payment will work with the...

    Details Model 3 interior walk-through

I agree with this. Moving from any one car to another initially requires one to take their eyes off the road momentarily (if not longer) to find controls that are not located where one expects them to be, or that look different or operate differently on different cars. I experience this every...

Winter Tire: Tesla shop or Local shop?

Just curious, but are the lift points clearly identified on the underside of Teslas, so that a tire store or shop that hasn't seen one before can properly lift the car without damaging it by placing the lift pads in inappropriate locations?

I'm getting tired of burning my nose and ears when putting on my sunglasses straight from the overhead holder where they've been baked by the sun.

Long range Model 3 has 334 miles range according to EPA

Makes sense for me, because if I'm doing any driving where range matters it's going to be on highways. In a day driving around the region where I live no way am I going to come close to driving 300 miles. Critical to my wife letting me get the 3, because she's going to be driving it more...

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

Sportstick, you bring up some good points for discussion. What does the best research show for typical awareness and response times for people driving vehicles that are not autonomous? OK, but an alert driver should observe when the car starts to behave 'incorrectly'? I agree that some (many?)...

Coming from a Leaf. I love it, now I want a better EV.

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

The theory that Tesla is free to price a particular feature at whatever price it wants to charge for that feature, and why not charge the same price for the same feature no matter which vehicle the feature is installed on? Of course the percentage of the total car cost that the feature...

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

Same here, On the model S EAP costs $5,000 if you get it when you buy the car and $6,000 if you get it later on - the same as for the Model 3. Same feature, same pricing. Turning it into a percentage distorts the picture. You're getting the same feature for the same price no matter which...

Anyone not getting Enhanced Autopilot (EAP)?

Foxy - your don't have to, you choose to. It might be a little less stressful if you started moving over maybe two miles ahead of the exit rather than half a mile? Maybe you'd lose a few seconds of time, but more distance in which to find suitable openings is a good thing. Just a thought.
